We love this seasonal park! The park opens soon after the 4th of July and usually closes Labor Day weekend. It wouldn?t feel like a complete summer if we didn?t make at least one trip to the Jetty. Jetty Island is reached by means of a free five minute passenger ferry ride from the 10th street boat launch on the Everett waterfront. Once on the Jetty, you have to walk about 10 minutes across the sand to the West facing beach. The water here is warm and shallow. The sun warms the sand which warms the water and makes for pleasant wading. It?s hard to believe you?re at the cold Puget Sound when you?re enjoying Jetty Island. There is always a bit of a breeze to keep the bugs away. From the island, you can watch the ferries crossing from Mukilteo to Whidbey Island. You can hear the sea lions that lounge on the navigational buoys. There is no water or food services on the island so come prepared. The only bathroom are floating pit toilets on the dock when you get to the island. Bring your sand toys! The rangers offer guided walks and programs each day. The schedule is posted on the island when you get off the dock. The Jetty is only open Wednesday- Sunday. Plan to get there early if you want your pick of return times. There are several geocaches (www.geocaching.com) on the island.

PROS:
CONS: if you don't live in the city of Everett, get there early to get a ferry
