I went to have an eye exam , knowing I would need glasses. The staff was nice, though there was abit of tension between one doctor and the recieptionist.
I was offered alot of extra stuff which I could not afford even if I wanted it, But I walked out with a pair of glasses that do not fit, and have broken with in four months . I guess if you can afford designer glasses and a posh enviornment then yes its a good deal but for the underpaid hard working stiffs such as my self, I have to say whole heartedly no its not a good deal. I dont feel I should of been able to walk out of there with glasses that did not fit me. I am not a eye dr. or assistant but glasses are not supposed to slide down your face are they? Next time i go to an eye DR it will be one like walmart who cateres to the white collor workers.

I had an appointment scheduled with Clear Vision and after reading the review about the large fee for the contact fitting, I called to ask about it. They never mentioned any charge when I made my appointment. When I called and asked, they said it would be a $75 charge for the fitting, and my insurance (VSP) only gives a 15% discount! I can get a full eye exam AND contact fitting at Costco for under $100, with NO insurance. I'm floored that some of these eye exam companies are charging such an outrageous price for contact fittings and that they don't tell you about it when you make the appointment. I cancelled my appointment with them and scheduled with another company that only charges $25. I'm glad I read the reviews here before my appointment!

I am the type of person who seeks the best of the best and will spend hours researching the highest rated doctors. I am very critical about how a business treats their customers because I am in the customer service industry and I try my best to assist my guest in any way that I can in hopes to create a lasting impression. This time I took my chances on a doctor who I have never heard of and was quite pleased of the outcome. Dr. Mancuso is a very friendly and welcoming optometrist who is very thankful for all his patients. He was very thorough and explained all my options. I was very impressed that he took the time to thank me for choosing his clinic. It definitely made me feel appreciated. The receptionist and eye glass specialist were both very friendly as well. The only negative aspect of my experience was the way I was treated by his assistant who conducted my initial eye tests. She was not welcoming at all and didn't seem to care. She did not try to engage in a friendly conversation or ask if I was okay. When she was done with her part of the exam, she left me in a room for a couple of minutes and came back to restock some supplies. Not once did she acknowledge me or ask if I was okay or needed anything. I thought that was quite rude. It takes only one person to effect your experience in a negative way. I would definitely go back to clear vision if I was examined by another assistant.

Went in for my annual eye exam with Dr. Mancuso.
Exam was thorough and comprehensive, and the friendliness of the staff and the atmosphere of the office in general cant be beat.
But then there was the bill.
Having VSP insurance for years, Ive never had to pay for an exam after the small co-pay. Yet even with insurance, I ended up having to shelve out more than a C note at Clear Vision that I expected to pay nothing for.
I learned that they ended up charging me $80 for a contact lens fitting, without telling me in advance that this charge would not be covered by the insurance.
Rule of thumb should be to tell the customer in advance what they will have to pay for something. Hidden costs are always a big letdown.
PROS: Thorough Exam, Friendly Staff
CONS: Hidden Costs, The Exam Cost What?
