They're just out to make a few thousand bucks.

by Kelly P.

Park Nicollet has overcharged me, insulted me/my intellegence and not stood behind their own poor decisions more than once in the past.

1. I had a physical with a doctor who asked for my family history. After telling her my grandmother had breast cancer at the age of 32 she said, "That can't be right. You need to go home and check. You can give a call once you've figured it out." Big surprise, I knew my family history better than she did. However, she dismissed my information. This same doctor also asked the typical physical questions. She what age I was during my first "adult" experience (a very personal question), when I gave her my answer she said "Oh, well we can't go back and change that now, can we?" I was absolutely mortified, embarassed and very upset after that visit.

I thought maybe it was just the doctor, so I went to another Park Nicollet location and found a new doctor.

2. My doctor found a spot of skin she thought should be tested for cancer. Before doing so we discussed my options for removal and testing. I was quite concerned about what kind of a scar would be left. She said the largest scar would be left by just going in and removing the whole thing. But she said I wouldn't want to do that anyway because insurance would identify this as "cosmetic" and I'd be charged full price for the procedure. She said if they biopsied it, then tested the biopsied skin, removed the rest of the skin later (if it was cancerous) and tested that skin as well that insurance would identify the procedures/testing as "preventive". Long story short, insurance did not count it as preventive and the doctor wouldn't stand behind her story. Thus, I now owe Park Nicollet just under 1,000.00 for being cut open in the same place twice and having the skin tested in the lab both times.

Needless to say, I would never in a million years recommend ANY of the Park Nicollet clinics.

If you won't take my word for it - look for other reviews similar to mine online - it won't take long to find a couple billing complaints.

Decent spot to find a CNM

by R F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,110

We chose this location of Park Nicollet for our primary care clinic based on recommendations from some trusted sources. I can't find a way to review Amy Brandl, CNM from there so I will include it here. Her approach was very kind and she listened well to me. I was pleased with the service and felt that she cared about my well-being. She took plenty of time to talk to me before the exam too which was nice.

Highly recommend Park Nicollet Urgent Care

by Anonymous

My husband had been sick for a week and was seen by his (non-Park Nicollet) doctor and put on antibiotics. Four days later, when his conditioned worsened, I took him to Urgent Care. He was seen there on Sunday, January 8, 2008 for fever, aches and crackling when breathing. From the moment we entered the urgent care he was treated by the kindest and most professional staff we have ever met--from the person who checked him in, to the insurance person to the nurses. He was able to be seen quickly and things got even better when we met Dr. Paul Reicho. He quickly diagnosed my husband with pneumonia and set forth on an aggressive plan to get my husband feeling better and keep him out of the hospital. Dr. Reicho showed compassion for my husband's ailments and was very clear in his explanation of the condition and treatment plan. He spent a lot of time with us, going over the condition and the necessary medicines. He even provided us with his cell phone number in case we had questions or my husband's condition worsened. He has called my husband every day to check on his progress! We have never received this kind of personal medical care in our lives, not even from our personal physicians. If only more doctors could be like Dr. Reicho. This urgent care has an excellent and and caring staff. We know where we will go whenever we have future medical problems.

Would not recommend for diagnosing problems

by Robert Stensin 3.

Park Nicollet is a convenient, cost-effective facility. However, if you have anything challenging to diagnose, avoid the internists/family doctors in this facility at all costs. They can efficiently diagnosis strep throat and commonplace ailments, but in our experience, they are not committed to following through if your problem is more complex. They are cost efficient because they limit testing. They seem to rely on snap judgments and our experience was a condescending, arrogant attitude.

As for specialists, he urology department is one of the best as well as ENT.

Park Nicollet-St. Louis Park

by ROXANNE S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,283

Park Nicollet in St. Louis Park is my choice for a medical facility. I have gone to several doctors there. The facility is fantastic because it's all in one: doctors of every type, lab, pharmacy, urgent care, health store, and day surgery. I have been to the doctors, urgent care, and day surgery there. I have always received fantastic care. I like going to this type of "super store" of medical facility because I know that if I need further care, I can just travel down the hall as opposed to having to go across town.

PROS: All in one facility
CONS: none
