Jaime Y needs to consider that this is an urban LEVEL 1 Trauma Center. This means that they see the most critically ill patients on a daily basis. If you have a serious injury or condition, this is the place to go. If you simply have a cold or a weird rash, choose a place that isn't as busy. As far as the furniture, you should take comfort in the fact that this hospital puts its money into patient care equipment that can actually save a person's life and not something trivial and pretty for you to look at while you are waiting. As far as wait times go, the nurses in the ER will evaluate the severity of every person's illness, and you will be seen based on your condition.

I was not too impressed with the hospital. The ER had no reading material and the furniture looked like it was from the 1970's. It made me feel gross because it just didn't seem very clean or inviting. I waited for 3 hours without being seen. The woman at the front desk was very short and talked down to me like I was stupid. This was the case with all the other people waiting as well. My feeling is that if you are in an ER the staff should do their best to accomodate and relax the patients. This obviously was not the case. I would not recommend coming to this hospital unless you absolutely have to.
