I've been seeing Mariel for years - best haircuts ever! I was so disappointed when I couldn't find her name now at this new location for Madison 101 - but fortunately I tracked her down - she's at Union Salon 174 S. De Lacey Ave, Pasadena (626)793-7745. Just got back from a haircut and blow dry from her - its awesome! Thanks Mariel!

Love the Salon! What a great job they have done with making it warm and inviting. I see Dina Marie, who I think is the "Best in Pasadena",,, I here all the girls a great, and I do look forward to trying them out.
Dina has been doing my lashes for two years and have never had a bad experience. She is always consistent, and pleasantly educating to talk to.

WOW! I went to the new location for madison 101 and I have to say, I thought it was quite a charming salon.It has great character and a zen like atmosphere. I was encouraged to go and make an appointment with the massage therapist Stacey. She was wonderful!!!! She was nice, professional and had a awesome technique. I even did the impossible I relaxed and fell asleep! She made me feel safe and invited. Not rushed or annoyed to have another client. I highly recommend Stacey for what i feel is the best massage in town. Tell her corey sent you! :)

I just had my lashes done, and I have to agree with all the other comments, Dina by far made my lashes look the best. I usually get them done on the west side, but after moving to Pasadena and searching the internet for a eyelash girl in my new area, Dina seemed to pop up everywhere. I never thought my lashes could look this great!

First time for everything. After reading Madison's reviews, and finding out about Dena Marie, I thought I would put her to the test. I called for a appointment and found out she is books for months. I asked if she would some how fit me in since I was a new client, and with no hesitation she fit me into her day off. I decided to get the eyelash extensions that so many people have been raving about on this site. I had them done once before by a gal in Beverly Hills, but not as good as Dena. I thought the price was right on with all the other competitors...She did a beautiful job, I think I'll keep them for awhile. Thank you Dena!

When my stylist left Madison 101, I was referred to Marco Delgado. He does beautiful cuts and highlights and I always get compliments. He seems to know exactly what will work with my hair and the colors that will be most flattering. I could probably stretch the highlights to every 8 weeks (if I wanted to) because he does a great job of blending them into my natural color.

Marco is also fun to talk to and an all-around great guy. I leave feeling relaxed and pampered.

The salon itself itself is small and has a friendly atmosphere without being pretentious. If you want a cut for less than $50 this is probably not the place for you, but it is worth every penny.

I never write reviews. Not that I'm opposed to them and after reading the reviews for Madison 101 I decided to try them out.First, you need to know I am the pickiest person when it comes to cut and color. I've had the same stylist for forever and was sad to see her move away. Before her it was nightmare after nightmare.But, in just ONE visit Erika nailed my color. I don;t know about you, but that line " it'll take a couple more visits to get the color you want" ( after paying 300.00 ) made me less than happy.Erika cut, colored and highlighted my hair and I love every aspect of it.If you go see her, trust me, you won't be sorry. :)

a friend of mine recommended Deanna to me for lashes, and I cant say anything bad about them. they look and feel like my own. now that i have them, i don't think i can ever take them off. its a little expensive, but well worth it if you don't have long lashes like me...if you are looking for someone for lashes, Deanna is the one, you won't be disappointed!

I also found Kellie as my new stylist, she is fantastic too! very nice place to be....i love the salon!

Dina Marie has been doing Eyelash Extensions for about two years and comes highly recommended. Not anyone can do eyelash extensions, it's an art. Dina Marie has been trained by the best! Her education and time spent learning the Art of Eyelash Extensions has paid off. You will not be disappointed in the end results. I would recommend her to anyone.
The salon is easy to get to, and it's a beautiful place. I sometimes get lunch at the culinary school down the street, it's fast, easy and really good for a quick bite.

That's right, at Madison 101, you get the experience of a great hip atmosphere sans attitude. It is warm, friendly and relaxing. But the thing that makes me drive from Long Beach to Pasadena is Stylist and Make up artist, Mariel. Her beauty coupled with her simple, warm, and professional demeanor at once sets you at ease. Her cuts always hit the mark. She knows just what to do with your hair. I always walk out of her chair feeling confident and triumphant.
I used to drive or fly from Vegas to have Mariel 'fix' my hair.
Truly exceptional.

I have been going to Erica for over a year. She is the master at color. Seriously, she has nailed my color every time. I look for professionalism, skill, and personality when shopping for a stylist. Erica has all three. Highly recommend.

For four years, I've been getting my hair cut by Erica. I'm one of those guys who had what i thought was a "simple cut," and thus didn't care too much about who cut my hair.

But after a few visits to Erica i started getting a *lot* more complements than I was used to..

Erica's a great stylist, very reasonably priced, and fun to be with. I could not recommend her more strongly.

I was visiting family in so cal and was itching to get my hair done. I found the salon from this website. I hadn't planned ahead and on a whim called. I was scheduled with Melissa. I got a hair cut and color. She did an excellent job. I am super picky about my hair and was real nervous to go to a salon i found on the internet. anyways, she was great! super nice and friendly. the price was cheaper than what i pay in san francisco (where i live). i will definitely see Melissa again. i might even go down there just for my hair (and to see my family too, i guess). anyways, thanks all for the great recommendations before. and thanks Melissa!

The salon is great! Everyone is nice and it has a professional environment but doesn't make you feel out of palce. The stylists are fantastic at what they do, especially Mariel! I tell her to do what ever she wants to my hair and leaves me looking great everytime. The best part about her is if you want something done to your hair but aren't sure, ask her and she'll let you know what will make you look beautiful. Madison 101 is the place to be if you want great service, a great cut, and friendly people.

Marco has been doing my hair for over three years, and knows exactly what i want every time. i was introduced to him whilst he was still working at another salon, and i HAD to follow him over to Madison 101. he knows i like to change it up, and he is great at doing different variations of the style i want. i always get compliments whenever i'm out and about. Marco is lots of fun, and you can count on him for a fabulous, consistent cut and colour. i highly recommend Marco for men, but he does equally wonderous work on women.

I live in Studio City and work around the corner from Madison 101. I always walk by and say what a beautiful salon. I was in need for a manicure, so I made appointment with Dina the Manicurist.
Wonderful manicure, she was really good, I love my nails!
I'm going to try the salon for my hair next, I was told, everyone is very good.
I highly recommend Madison 101.

Deana is so good at putting eyelashes on, my friend couldn't tell they were not mine. I had my eyelashes tented for years, but it never gave me the fullness I wanted. I really don't think I could ever go back to my own lashes. I'm so happy with the job Deana did- it blow me away. The price is $200 it's about the going rate.
It was very relaxing- eyes closed the whole time. It takes about 2 hours or less to put them all on. It's differently a art.
It was a great experience.

I used to prolong visits to the salon because if I said 'no layers', I'd have layers in one snip. Instead of a chin length bob, I'd suddenly have wonky bangs. In 2006, I remember thinking to myself, I have GOT to find someone who understands what I want when I sit down in that barber chair.
That year, I met Erika. Not only does Erika have great personal style, she understands what I want and what would look great on me.
I've been going to her for several years now, and my sister even waits to get her haircut by Erika when she comes to visit me from Chicago.
I highly recommend her & the inviting atmosphere of Madison 101.

I have been going to get my hair cut & color by Mariel for some years now, driving all the way from Santa Monica to Pasadena. I have recently moved to Canada which has forced me to try new hair stylists and I have to say that I haven't been able to find one whose work compares to Mariel's. Each time I come back to California to visit, I make sure to schedule and appointment with Mariel. She really does a great job! Finding a good hair stylist is like finding a good doctor!

Deana did my lashes about two weeks ago and i love them.
A friend of mine had them done at a spa in NY and they looked so good, you could not tell they weren't hers. I was so happy when I found out the salon I had been going to for the past 3 years was doing the extensions. I don't think I could ever go back to my normal lashes ever. I highly recommend Deana for lashes.

Deana Marie has been doing my nails for 20+ years. I travel around the world in my business and have had my nails done at the best New York salons, but the service and quality has never been as good as hers. Her attention to detail is amazing.

I enjoy going to Madison 101 as the decor is beautiful and relaxing. I believe it is the best salon in the Pasadena area. Unlike many salons, it is clean, the staff is friendly, and is in a good location.

I would highly recommend Deana Marie and Madison 101.

I just moved to Pasadena and needed a new salon. I was so scared trying someone new. I found Madison 101 on the Internet and boy am I glad! I found myself at this wonderful little treasure of a salon. It has a modern, hip feeling, not trendy and dated and quaint at the same time. The reception greeted me and instantly I felt at home when they offered a beverage and then I took my seat. Dionne gave me the most wonderful facial and was so attentive to what I wanted in my brow waxing. She was incredibly nice and genuine. I was also lucky enough to get in for a haircut and style with Erika. I have never looked better. Erika was also just a sweet person. I am so glad I found this place. When I was leaving I spotted a plaque from Pasadena Weekly for runner-up to best salon in the Pasadena. I know why and have already re-booked. Love it!

After a 2 1/2 year search, I finally found Veronica Mills who left the the Gates Salon to go to Madison 101. After 2 years of bad cuts - I finally am happy and have a great cut. Veronica is the only person in the world who can cut my wavy hair. Not only does it look good after the cut, it lasts so long that I only need to return every 6 weeks or so.

I've been seeing Dionne, the owner, for years and her facials are like a mini slice of heaven. The price is always right and the amount of time and effort she spends on you makes one feel special.

All the hair stylists are great at their craft and believe me there is a hair stylist for every type of hair or do out there. Mariel is my stylist and I swear I'll never go anywhere else.

Come in and check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

After many a disaster in hair salons and plenty of blah experiences as well, I developed a hatred of hair salons as deep as my hatred of dentist offices. The last time I had my hair cut professionally was 5 years ago. It got really out of hand, so I had to bite the bullet and just go somewhere new. I went to Madison 101 because it's around the corner from my job. Erika cut my hair. She is awesome. I felt comfortable in the salon, it was wonderfully sunny and warm, and not only did my hair get cut the way I wanted it, but she styled my hair beautifully as well--a first for me in a salon. I have never walked out of a salon feeling particularly pleased about my hair until Erika cut my hair. This is the place.

The staff are incredibly attentive and the ambiance makes you feel so relaxed. Marco is my hairstylists and has been for the past 10 years. He has a great sense of style and knows exactly how to meet your needs when you have an event to attend, Marco is the go to person. He has worked in many fashion shows and magazine photo shoots. You can really feel good and look great with a Madison 101 Marco haircut. Wish no more that you had celebrity hairstyle and call for MARCO!!!!

I have followed Dionne from two other salons, she is the only one who has ever done a great job waxing and tinting my eyebrows...and her facials are to die for! Madison 101 is a wonderful salon to visit. Not only is it very clean and beautiful, but the customer service is marvelous and the work they do there is superior! Dionne is excellent at waxing. I always leave very happy with beautiful perfect eyebrows. I would like to try her facials next! Mariel does wonders with color. I would also like to say that the owner is very gracious and extremely friendly! I would most definitely recommend all my friends and family!

My hairstylist moved out of state, so I was in the market for a new one. A close friend of mine recommended this new salon, Madison 101. I checked it out and I've been with Marco ever since! He always does a fantastic job and he makes me feel completely at ease. I have the utmost confidence in letting him decide what's best for my hair.

The salon is absolutely adorable! Neat, clean, with a friendly staff too! Removed from the hustle and bustle of Old Town but close enough to make a quick trip over if wanted.

It's worth it!

I just moved from New York and was looking for a new salon. I saw this insider page and decided to find a new hair stylist.

Kelly came so highly rated that I made an appointment right away. Kelly was very friendly and kind, I could tell she know what she was doing.

I was treated to yummy things to eat and drink, cookies, strawberries and champagne!

my hair is fantastic, the cut is gorgeous, the whole experience was pleasurable and memorable.

I am very happy with my hair. I will be back.

Marco is really fantastic. He gave me a great cut, the best I've had in years. He's friendly, talkative (but not overly so), and works in a relaxed, low-key environment. I've been skipping around Pasadena-area hair stylists for a couple years and am happy to say I've found someone I can stick with. He specializes in men's cuts.

She's very dedicated and really takes her work seriously. She has great ideas on what to do with your hair and her enthusasiam and love of styling hair comes through. Moving can be a dreadful thing when you can't replace the people who did such a great job on your personal care services. Shortly after moving, I was complimented on my brows and told good luck trying to find someone who could wax brows well in this area. I tried a few places and was disappointed each time until I was referred to Dionne at Madison 101. My brows aren't always the easiest to shape and she does an incredible job every time! Dionne takes her time, is precise and particular about her work. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I lived in Pasadena until this past April when we moved to the Santa Clarita area. A close friend of mine referred me to Dionne for my waxing a while back, I've been with her since then. This salon has a serene, clean & friendly environment. Its spacious and not an overwhelming place, as most salons tend to be nowadays. Mariel takes great care of my hair and that of my best friends, Marcos cuts my Husbands hair. I Don't mind the 37 mile drive. This place is worth the time.

I was referred by an associate to Dionne for my waxing and facials. Her attention to detail was excellent. It is a big deal when you are particular about your eyebrows. And her brazilian bikini wax was the best I have ever had. She made me so comfortable and at ease. Beautiful salon. I am going to get my haircut by Mariel next week. I am sold on madison 101.

Kelly you get a 5 star rating, its actually true. She has been cutting my hair for a year now and I am pleased everytime I leave her office. Shes does her best to make sure you are happy with the cut and wont let you leave if she thinks it looks bad. Great place to go in Old Town Pasadena and worth the money.

I also came for a little try and a sneek peek of the salon, and wanted to try out some people. I first had a manicure with Angie, then a hair cut with Veronica. I thought all around, Veronica was about the best hair cut I have ever had. I just moved here from nashville and I would defenitly recomend this salon to anyone I know. A friend of mine was really happy with her services too. I have to say the salon was really beautiful and clean.

i read the reviews for Madison 101 and was kinda curious about the stylists so i paid them a visit. first i thought id get my waxing done there. Deon was definitly the best when it comes to facials, she knows what the skin needs. the receptionist recommended Dana for color & Veronica for cuts and let me tell you they were the best I have ever had and was very attentitive to my needs and actually gave me a new look, im completely pleased with the way my color and cut came out. i found my new stylist! those are very hard to come by.

I took my boys in for hair cuts with Marco. He did a great job, and was really sweet and kind to my boys. I think the Salon is really nice & the staff are pleasent to talk with. I would recommend this Salon to any one who has kids, or not.
Parking was really easy.

Marco is now my permanent hair cutter. My sister has also converted. Not only does he cut your hair the way you want, he makes it even better! He is worth the price.

A friend and I went in yesterday to get our hair cut with Veronica. While I left to run a quick errand - twenty minutes or less - She started on my friend. By the time I got back, she was trimmed and layered, and drying.

Veronica was very quick, and very talkative - in a good way. It is fun to be in her chair. I felt like she really knew what she was doing, and has a lot of experience under her belt.

I'll be going back today for color - we'll see how it goes!

I had a really nice facial with Deon the owner. I felt really relaxed when I left, I would highly recommend this salon. There are also a lot of fun things to do around there if you are waiting. A great coffee place around the corner on Green st.

I definitely recommend Madison 101. The atmosphere of the salon is incredibly beautiful and welcoming. All the staff are friendly and made my visit warm and inviting. Veronica is a fantastic hairstylist. She told me she came from the Gates Salon in San Marino. I had my hair cut and highlighted by Dana and they did an excellent job. They addressed all my concerns about cutting my hair at a new salon and allayed all my fears when my cut and color turned out just the way I wanted it! Veronica & Dana are "NOW" my new hairstylist.
One Happy Girl!
