Chaat Cafe has the best Indian food I've found anywhere. I ate here four times when I was in San Francisco, chicken Vindaloo each time, and it was incredible. I finally found Indian food with enough spice. It is busy at lunch, but not at dinner, even though they keep the same prices. Affordable ($9-$10 a dish).

I have 3 words to remember when going tot Chaat Cafe at 3rd & Folsom - "Tandoori Chicken Sandwich". HEAVEN - incredibly delicious (what's not to like about a sandwich that uses naan as the bread and fantastic, moist chicken). It's substantial and cheap.
Also, the $5 lunch specials are usually really good, plenty of food. Can't beat the value.

One of my favorite, favorite indian places. Their lunch special ($5) is always a great value, and the food is fresh and flavorful.
Only potential downside here is when they get slammed with a convention, sometimes they may be slow to make your order.
My favorite dishes here:
* Chicken tikka sandwich
* Caesar Salad w/chicken tikka
* Vindaloo curry (of any type)
Tips:
* They got some good beers on tap
* Good happy hour deals
* Ask for a single somosa with your wrap or sandwich

Pros: The door
Cons: EVERYTHING!
This is a great indian lunch place. I eat here at least twice a week. They always have a $5 lunch special thats great and the rest of the menu is no let down either.
4Chaat Cafe is a solid choice for Indian in the SOMA area.. Chicken Tikka Masala has just the right amount of spice... although their Mango Lassi could have been better...Their lunch specials are also worth a try
4Chaat Cafe is a good option for lunch in SOMA. Meals are reasonably priced and portions are generous. I had the Desi Chicken Wrap, which was very good. It was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so, and the chicken was tender.
4This is a well attended little Indian place and is a good choice for a quick lunch. The Tandoori pizzas, wraps and kabobs are tasty and well prepared.
4Good value for the money. Staff is polite and very helpfull. Menu is a bit small but adequate. Will try them again when short on time.Place was clean. Meals are decent

They have increased their prices over the last few months so the value for money is not as high. The tandoori chicken wraps are very good sized, and the chicken tikka masala is my favorite. They marinade and broil the chicken bits before

Pros: Tasty Indian food at reasonable price
Cons: Avoid the long lunch queues by going before 12pm or after 2pm
The food here is great. Pretty much everything we've ever had here has been fantastic. My favorite is the samosa chaat and cholay bhaturay. Mm mm.... The service often leaves much to be desired. May have something to do with the fact

I love this place because you can stuff yourself with great food for about 10 bucks or less. I like just about everything I've had here, especially the potato or Lamb stuffed naan, butter chicken, samosas and spicy kabob wrap. Read the

Since it's its namesake, it's a relief that the chaat dishes here are edible. We had the pani puri and papri chaat - both were relatively fresh but lacked the comlex seasonings that make these dishes great at other places. Yes, I know it's

You can order just about anything on the menu and be confident that it will be delicious, plus it will always be under $10 at lunch time. Even with a line one can usually finish a meal in about 25 min. The Tikka masala comes highly

I had good expectations of this place based on the reviews most people had written. I was thoroughly disappointed in my meal at this place. The chicken tikka masala was terrible. I'd recommend going elsewhere.

I stumbled upon Chaat Cafe a few weeks ago, and have become a loyal customer. The chicken tikka masala is the best I have ever had, tender morsels of chicken in a cramy, spicy/tangy sauce for $6.99 with rice.

I've been coming here for lunch for about a year and word has definetly gotten out about how good it is. It is a madhouse during lunch these days, but the service has improved greatly in the last year so the smiling, hustling staff makes

I've gone back a few times, so unfortunately I know it's not coincidental..
The service at this place is awfully slow, even when few people are seated. The kitchen seemed to have plenty of cooks playing chefs, so what's the deal?

The room was cold and the service was slow for an uncrowded Saturday afternoon. We hope this particular experience was a rare aberration, because the food and value made it absolutely worth the visit..we'll be back!

Great moderate priced Indian food in the city. Plus, unlike most of the cheaper Indian spots, the cafe is clean and has comfortable seating. The curries are good, but the wraps are the best deal and most unique part of the menu.

Food is good just like berkeley and fremont chaat cafes, though employees can be a bit rude and unwelcoming, still the best lunch deal in the city. Service can be slow when it's busy.

You know, this is a good restaurant. Its location might be a little difficult to get to but if you are at the Yerba Buena area/Moscone/Metreon and you want some good Indian food. Give this place a try.
