Circus Circus is great for kids

by Tommy M.

I like cirus cirus. My kids have fun there. The acts are decent. The rides are fun for little ones. I think they have done a good job on their remodel. If you have not seen it lately then you should check it out.

Classic Casino

They still have the free circus shows, midway games, arcades, and last standing theme park here in Las Vegas. As far as casino games, about the same as anywhere else, except they attract a lot of rift raft. This more for the family type.

Fun Place

by Marilyn W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,069

We visited here when our boys were young and enjoyed it very much. Loved the circus show. I was impressed by the fast response of the security when one of the employees dropped a bunch of money on the floor. The security was all over it in a heartbeat and made sure that nobody bent down and picked up any of the cash, except those authorized to do so. I knew that if my son (aged 2 at the time) got away from us, security would be right there immediately helping us to locate him. The best part was watching that fabulous circus. I'd highly recommend this place.

I have been chief engineer for both flamingo Hilton Reno and Flamingo Hilton Laughton and as a customer I have never seen anybody treated like we were in Las veges at the Circus Circus. My wife is a diabetic and I asked if we could have a small refrigerator in our room for insulin and I was informed that would cost us an additional 12 dollars a night. I want you to be aware we booked the room for seven days in advance or I would have canceledWe spent over seven thousand dollars In eating and gambling in that seven days and we were treated like street people.

by norma L. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 736

I like this casino, there is a lot to do besides gamble. There are a lots a slot machines and a good selection. There is a circus in the sky and fun park style games on the upper floor. It was an older casino but still a lot of fun and they also have an indoor amusement park that is very entertaining.

Stolen laptop

by sim r.

My laptop and its backpack bag were stolen from our room while we were out for only about four hours. The hotel's risk management department would not even give us a call. Today (more than two weeks after the theft), when I called their office, the representative said the hotel is in no way liable for the loss and even insinuated that we have been negligent (eg. did not lock the door - on this I had to remind the representative that two of our party always check our door every time we left the room although the door closes on its own) or that we might have left the laptop somewhere. The representative further claimed that our door activity log (which the security department downloaded from the electronic door lock) revealed that no one else went into our room except us. Extra electronic card key issued to somebody else? Not possible according to the rep. Surveillance camera? They do not have any in the hallway!Recourse? Help from anyone! Hopefully have others forewarned.

Great get away from the major casinos

by Tyler L. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,526

One of the older casino/resorts in Vegas, this place is most recognizable by it's giant flashing clown sign and also for the amount of family entertainment it offers. With affordable rooms and a host of activities I feel this is one of the better places for parents and kids. The midway offers a host of carnival games and arcades for people to win prizes and also has its own performing circus acts that go on every day. It's pretty cool because they filmed a James Bond Movie there way back when (it was a Roger Moore one but I can't remember the name right now). Also they have their own Adventure Dome, complete with roller coaster, water ride, and a lot of other rides/activities. Prices are typical for an amusement park and they have wristbands for all day passes where you can go anytime before it closes. I'd recommend trying the coaster at least once! Their dining options are pretty large too; there's the typical LV buffet and also a steak house and a slew of other restaurants/cafes. Their pizzeria is pretty good, I'd recommend a try if you visit. Overall it's a really cool place if you want to get away from the mega resort/casinos on the strip and catch a free circus show or be a kid again.

Circus Circus

by Dawn G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,247

I stayed at the Circus Circus Casino and Hotel I was not very impressed with the room. It smelled musty and old. It was part of a "packaged" deal. Cost was included in my "travel package".
I would only recommend Circus Circus if you are pinching pennies and only need a place to sleep for a while.

Lost its touch

by Jennifer W. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 113

This hotel used to be thriving with families and couples, but now it seems like they no longer care. The place needs some renavations because it is such a great family hotel. I would hate to see such a great hotel go down because it needs new paint. This hotel has great service but just needs to step up the atmoshpere.

Family fun

by shannon b. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,856

Circus Circus is definitely the place you want to go when you have kids. The inside amusment park is perfect for an afternoon of family fun. There was rides for every age group. It was alot of fun. The all day pass for kids was only 25.00 and well worth it. We went during the day but I bet it looks great all lit up at night. My daughter was able to ride her first "big girl" ride. It was great to see her have so much fun.

So, I was grossed out by this place. When I was staying here with my family we found a snot ball (yes from someone's nose) on the pillow they gave us. I almost puked. I am not sure if this was a bad joke from someone on staff, but it was not ok.

PROS: Fun for kids.
CONS: Dirty.

Free circus acts is so much fun. My hubby always brings them down here when he babysits cause he doesn't know what else to do with them ha ha. There are games, arcade stuff and even mcdonalds for the kids. Great place to go for locals or not with the kids. My kids love the circus acts but go early cause they get a bit crowded.

PROS: free circus acts, lots to do with the kids
CONS: kinda pricey games

This is a really cool attraction that is free where we can take our children .There are different performances throughout the day . Acrobatic performers do all sorts of daring and difficult stunts.there is also a kids casino there where they can play all kind of stuff and win stuffed animals.
The park's rides appeal to kids of all ages and includes a double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster, a wild water flume ride, and a futuristic laser tag area.

Must Go Some Time

by Joshua S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,103

You really need to hit up Circus Circus some time. It's a chinsy hotel and casino, but the carnival atmosphere is pretty cool. There are few reasonably priced ways to have fun in Vegas, but this is one of them. Just walk around and watch the random stuff going down. Perhaps kick down five bucks and try out the theme park. Good times. Plus, it's where Roale Duke hung out.

Great for family with children

by N S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 161

This is a perfect hotel for family traveling with children. My sister and her family stayed there last time they were in town and had a great experience. The hotel features everything for adults and kids, such as casino area, sport book, lounge for the adults and for the kids, try to spend all day at Adventure Dome Theme Park. Which I am sure you kids will. The rates are usually lower than other strip hotels. The staffs were wonderful and professional. Overall she said The Circus Circus Hotel is a great hotel for family with children and she'll definately be staying there on her next visit to Las Vegas.

PROS: Cheap rates, great service
CONS: A little too crowded, very smokey

Home of the best Steak House

by Heather L. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,555

My father came to visit recently we were looking for a good Steak, he recommended we go The Steak House at Circus Circus, I didnt know what I was in for. Once we get to the restauraunt there is a 25-30 minute wait, we waited at the bar, finally its time to eat, we had the seafood sampler the best king crab legs, jumbo shrimp and oysters ever. I had the Filet mignon with lobster, the meat was so tender and juicy. We had the best waiter I have ever had. I totally recommend dining here although its a little costly.

while i would not recommend that you stay here if you could help it, for those on a budget this could be your choice. some advice, try to hit the buffet right after the food is cooked because it is rather nasty otherwise. for the kids the theme park upstairs is really fun. there is a bunch of rides that they can ride, you choose how long you stay there by either purchasing tickets or an unlimited band.

Good casino/hotel for kids

by Laura H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,973

I stayed at the Circus Circus while in Vegas and the rooms were nice. For people without kids it's annoying to walk through the hotel with screaming kids everywhere. It's also on the opposite end of the strip from the clubs we wanted to go to. For the extra $20 get a room up the strip instead of paying for taxis!

WHERE DO I BEGIN! WE HAD RESERVATIONS 1 MONTH IN ADVANCE AND WE WERE STILL NOT ABLE TO GET TWO NON-SMOKING 1 KING BED ROOMS LIKE WE ASKED FOR. US AND THE OTHER COUPLE TRAVELING WITH US HAD TO ENDURE A NIGHT IN ROOMS THAT SMELLED LIKE ASH TRAYS! THE NEXT DAY WE HAD TO WAIT MOST OF THE DAY TO GET ROOM CHANGES AND ONE OF THE ROOMS WAS RENTED TO SOMEONE ELSE AFTER THE SUPERVISOR HAD PUT A HOLD ON IT FOR US. MOST OF THE FRONT DESK STAFF WERE RUDE ESPECIALLY BOBBY, ONE OF THE HOTEL SUPERVISORS. BETTYE WAS THE ONLY ONE OF THE HOTELS SUPERVISORS THAT WAS NICE. WHO CARES IF YOU HAVE KIDS! Really fun

by pookalooka

My family and I had so much fun here at Circus Circus. I had a great deal on their website where I got a $25 gas card which I'm sure a lot of people need these days. Cynthia at check in was really polite. Our room at Skyrise Towers was very nice. My son had so much fun at the pool. It was also great that the pool area had food and drinks to sell there as well. And of course if you do or you don't have kids, Adventuredome and the Midway are great places to go to have more fun. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with kids and/or on a budget.

Pros: Games, affordable, pool

Cons: looks old

Best Ever to Vacation with kids!

by midwestma

We ignored all the negative comments made about this Hotel, and glad we did, extremely pleased! Kids love it here, and from our observations, kids were always being supervised by an adult, something the Hotel insists on, and they have it posted all over for people to see, not to leave children unattended. Not interested in gambling, but was looking for a "fun" time for the grandkids, this place met all of our expectations! I cannot wait to go again. It was inexpensive, the food was great, the employees helpful and friendly, we will pass on a huge recommendation to everyone we know with kids.

Pros: Inexpensive, great for kids

Cons: A bit old, but worth the money and kids had a great time!

Dizzying Experience

by tyneshad

I love it here because I can gamble downstairs like i'm all grown up or I can go upstairs and play circus games and ride rollercoasters like I'm a kid again. The prizes are corny, but it's a fun time all around. I'm not too fond of their buffet though, not enough flavor for me.

Pros: Lots of ways to have fun

Cons: Bland buffet

by panchamora

This hotel may not be the most luxurious, depending which room you get...the rates were affordable and pretty much, it's just a place to spend the night cuz u will be out all day...it's on the Strip and not far from all the events and/or attraction...If you have kids, even better cuz there is a mini-them park and arcade room in the hotel just for kids....the buffet is good and offers variety..

Pros: good rates

Cons: the cheap rooms may be a little further away

Great if you have children!

by capdeblu

This is a great place to stay if you have children with you. Singles stay here if you can afford nothing else. The 100$ rate was very reasonable the weekend I stayed there in April 2005. The room was very nice and clean.

The problem was there was a mile long walk or monorail ride to the room. And one day the monorail was out of order. The other problems included no room service after 12 noon??? On the weekends teens and children are everywhere and some of them dont look like they were staying there.

If you have kids...

by alwaysontheroad

this is by far the best place to stay on the strip. Kids rule the roost here! It is definitely a circus to say the least. The indoor theme park is a hit with kids. The Italian restuarant Stivali's or something like that is amazing - check it out, if you are at Circus Circus don't miss this place. Best service I've ever had! The casino is huge and normally croweded. The place definitely shows it's age but it is by far the best value on the strip. The only draw backs are the enormous amount of kids and the location. It is at the north end of the strip making the trek to Bellagio and other high spots tough. However, don't let the kids keep you away. For the price this place is it. Take the trolley and spend your time somewhere else, rest your head at Circus Circus.

Get the Wrecking Ball

by zachthemoose

People love Circus Circus for one reason and one reason only: parents can park the kids in the arcade or watching the circus acts while they casino hop.

Circus Circus is everything Las Vegas should never be. The place is a dinosaur that needs to be leveled. The interior is a filthy mess and even the table dealers, pit bosses and cashiers look terminally bored. Rooms are a circus nightmare come true with matted carpet and mildew-a-rama in the bathrooms.

The buffet is openly mocked amongst the Vegas locals, and no one suggests any restaurant in Circus Circus to any visitor.

Take the kiddes to Disneyland. If the parents want a weekend away from the kids, come to Vegas. But don't go to Circus Circus. For a few dollars more, you can stay someplace that is actually enjoyable.

Pros: Outside sign, Circus acts

Cons: Filthy, Non-existent service, Inedible food

I'm Surprised This Place Rates an 8!

by chakkuri

While staying at the Sahara, my husband and I decided to take our son over to Circus Circus as we heard it was a family friendly resort. After trekking across a sizeable parking lot, we were assailed by pandemonium. This was definitely the noisiest place I've ever been to. There were stressed out parents and screaming kids everywhere. The Adventurdome(?) theme park looked cool but wasn't cheap. Hotel staff terse bordering on rudeness. This was the first time we hurried to get OUT of a Vegas resort. We saw several older couples walking around looking shell shocked. I guess their travel agents weren't entirely truthful with them about the accomodations!

Pros: Lots of Parking

Cons: Crowded, Rude Staff, Needs rennovating!!

Family Fun

This is a great place for families. It's a kids paradise. Be prepared to see clowns, games, and trapezee acts. There's so many things for kids to do here it would be a full day event. It's just like being at the circus. Even the pre-teens like the rides. And after spending all that money with the kids, you can go to their inexpensive all-you-can-eat buffet! Have fun!
