I needed a few accessories for a costume that I was using in an upcoming play, and looked online and found their web site. Though they came up as 'thrift store', their web site also announced 'costumes using Out Of The Closet clothing' contests. I figured this might be a good place to find what I needed: a couple of pocket handkerchiefs, a black fedora, and some white gloves.
None were to be found on the premises, and the prices of the items that I did look at seemed somewhat high. Also, their stock seemed a bit low. It's an honorable store that supports a good cause (thus giving it the 3 star rating), but if you're looking for anything even slightly unique/outdated for Halloween, you're better off just crossing this store off the list. If you're just going for clothes and bargains, have fun!

for a thrift store. Reasonably good turnover, and good quality stuff. Sales rotate through the store. And the $ goes to a good cause. I've found some nice quality clothes there.

This is a great thrift store for a good cause (sales proceeds go to charity). They have a lot of used fun and funky clothes, so it is a good place to put together an outfit.

If on University Avenue, you cant miss the big purple building that is Out of the Closet. This is part of a small California chain of thrift stores that benefits the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. They carry clothing, furniture and dishes and stuff, similar to Goodwill or the Salvation Army also with discount prices but with a different focus. The people that work there are helpful.
