3 Stars: Good cookies, but poorly trained employees. (by Gail C.)

A trip to Oakridge Mall is rarely complete without a stop at Mrs. Fields for a chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are good, especially if you're lucky enough to time it right and get them fresh out of the oven. My one concern for this location is that they don't seem to train their counter people well enough. On my last visit I decided to be adventurous and try a new cookie. Since I HATE all nuts, I specifically asked the young man behind the counter if the cookie I was considering had nuts in it because I don't do nuts and he looked at the pan and said "Um, no". When I got around to eating the cookie, it was full of walnuts. Perhaps he didn't realize that walnuts are nuts or maybe he wasn't familiar with all the recipes, but I was not a happy camper! Now for me, it only meant wasted money and a cookie thrown in the trash, but if one had an allergy to walnuts, perhaps the results would have been more severe. From now on, I will stick to the cookies I know.
