Never once that I was disappointed with Seattle's Best Coffee. I live just a couple blocks from all stores in downtown. So, it's easy to walk down there to get it. But when I'm out of the area, it's so hard to find the store.
The taste is smooth, not too bitter, not to weak (like Starbucks which I never finish my cups whenever I have to get it). Anything I get from SBC is good. I always get latte but mocha tastes very good too. Not too sweet. They're the best.
Pros: the smooth taste
Cons: few locations, hard to find
Not only are the employees always smiling and helpful. The slow roasted small batch coffee is the Best! I had a Javanilla Milkshake (made with real ice cream) and it was the best ever. I Visit all of the 5 downtown Seattle cafes on a regular basis and I am never dissapointed! Their blended Java Kula coffee line is also very tasty way better than the Frappucino!
Pros: Real ice cream milksh, Toddy Coffee, Java Kula's
They produce a nice espresso, strong and flavorful! Would select them over Starbucks any day.
First it was Stewart Brothers Coffee. You can morph it, spin it, or grind it but the best is still the best. And Stewart Brothers had the audacity to rename it Seattle's Best. With huevos like that, one had better be able to back it up. No contest...SBC IS the Best. The down side is there are just not enough of the coffee shops in other city's. I stop for Starbucks if there is no SBC around and I really have to have a cup o' java.
Cons: Need more shops
They should dubb this Seattle's Worst Coffee. The coffe is bland and weak and their interiors/ambiance is ugly and dated. They could use an entire re-branding of their image and coffee houses. It's no longer (if it ever was) a nice place to sit back and have a nice, calm, relaxing cup of coffee.
Pros: Many locations
Cons: Coffee, Interiors, Brand
It may be a coffee for people who like their coffee on the lighter side (I like the Folger Crystals review!). But for REAL Seattle coffee, this is NOT it. However, I give them high marks for consistency of their product, it just isn't a robust product.
The Stewart Brothers have got good coffee sense. Seattle's Best, no matter if I'm at Pike Place or elsewhere, always gives me a great cup of joe. Can't beat it.
Pros: fast, delicious, refills!!
Cons: slightly expensive, bad hours (at museum)
Although the coffee may be decent, chains like Seattle's Best and Starbucks lack character, atmosphere and, of course, individuality. If I'm the middle of suburbia and there's no where else, it'll do. But if you're actually IN the city, why would you go here?
Without a doubt there is no worse coffee in all of Seattle. I'd rather use Folger's Crystals.
Pros: lots of locations
Cons: horrible taste
Of all the coffee shops I have visited, this one has never disappointed me. I have tried different blends and always been pleased.
Pros: Service, Quality
Cons: Cost
Seattle's best doesn't come close to being anything near what I would call good coffee. I'd rather get some at a truck stop. They over-roast their beans horribly.
Pros: Good staff
Cons: Burnt Coffee
The name says it all! I don't care for bitter coffee (like Starbucks), and SBC is the answer. I love the smooth taste.
Pros: Not enough stores
SBC is better than everybody and thats the only place i go to drink coffee
Pros: italian sodas
Cafe Ladro, Vivacci, Cafe Diva, etc... all have much better coffee than any SBC. Who voted- Monkeys?
Starbucks should clearly be number one. SBC is most definitely NOT the best!
Pros: nothing, copycat, pricey
Cons: coffee, coffee, coffee
Disagree! In a city that offers the highest quality venues in america consider Vivace, Cafe Vita, Bauhaus, and Cafe Ladro as better alternatives. These shops offer a quality and experience that are hard to find. Seattle's Best is not at the level of these other choices.
YuK! Come on Uptown Espresso is much better! None of the Big Chain Coffee Houses are consistent with their coffee!
This is going to floor you but of all the places that serve SBC coffee, including their own stores, the place that makes it best is McDonald's! I know it amazing, but don't take my word for it, try for yourself. It's always fresh and always the right temperature. I'm not a fast food junky, but one day I needed a cup of coffee and I've been hooked ever since. It's been consistent for as long as they've been serving it.
Pros: always fresh, great w/McMuffin, drive-through
Seattle's Best is more appropriate as Seattle's worst. Tully's and Starbucks have a much tastier blend of coffee..
I prefer a warm smile and a bad coffee to "hey" and a bad coffee. The pecentages aren't that bad... wrong coffee 20% of the time, wrong blend (too much or too little of something) 20%, herded like an animal with a tagged ear for tracking 20%, rude or annoying employee 20%. Add it up and I get what I pay for about 20% of the time. I only return because it's a block from my house and they never forget the caffine. Every time I go to the "24hr" one there is a sign ... "back in...min." or "Come get me in the other area of the grocery store."
Pros: Clean
Cons: Rude, Inconsistant, Impersonal
nice coffee blends. good cafe ambiance. cool baristas. need to open more branches
I love Seattle's Best Coffee!
The baristas' are friendly, the coffee is so much better tasting, and the cafes have less of a "cookie cutter" atmosphere to them, they all look different! I am also happy that their sister company, Torrefazione Italia ranked a close number 5!!! I had never heard of them until recently, and I know that they'll be #1 & #2 in 2003!!! Go SBC!
I have been drinking SBC blends for eight years now. I started back in college solely for the great affect cafein had on late night study vigils.
My first few cups came from competitors, and honestly I didn't even enjoy the flavor until I found a company that actually carried SBC. I knew I had found something great the moment the black ambrosia hit my tongue. Unlike other coffees, the flavor was bold, the body full, and the finish was sweet. Thanks SBC!
Pros: Friendly, Quality, Fun
Cons: little parking, long lines, need more locations
Never bitter, unlike other reknowned brand name coffee houses. I can count on it to taste right every time, no matter who's doing the brewing --- me or the staff!
Seattle's Best should be renamed Seattle's WORST!!!! They have the most awful, bitter coffee I have ever tasted. I do not know one serious coffee drinker that likes SB, therefore this must be rigged!
Seattle's Best Coffee is exactly that! I have tried many others, yet the one that comes out #1 is Seattle's Best! You've tried the rest, now try the Best!
Aloha!
Light and Peppy! thats SBC
SBC is excellent coffee, the best i have had. And starbucks is no match for SBC.
I am very dissapointed in SBC. I find that the baristas are not very knowledgable about the products that they serve! Not to mention that most SBC employees that I have encountered could care less if I, the customer, am satisfied or not. I travel almost continously for work and have come to the conclusion that I, for one, would rather get a cup of java at starbucks. Consistent customer service and knowlegeable employees get my vote.
Good, not best. Major blend coffee seems quite acid and requires sugar to make it more palatable
SBC roasts so-so coffee. It is still flash-roasted for that burned-and-sour flavor that Starbucks has, just not as much redolent of road tar as Starbucks.
I have never felt SBC had the quality or flavor commisurate with their name.
Sorry to knock the roasting flavor of Starbucks and Tullys... but even when I travel out of the country I take SB with me! They don't over roast like Starbucks and Tullys and never have I "ever" had abd cup of coffee hot or cold from SB...THEY ROCK!
Pros: no over roasting, low acidity, inexpensive
Cons: none, none, none
Seattle's Best is a name that baffles me. The coffee is so-so, and much like drinking Folgers to me. Their decaf is terrible tasting; it is so obviously decaf compared to their regular blends. Honestly, I like Starbucks decaf; but in lieu of brewed, I feel starbucks is best ordered as an Americano (i.e. double grande is just about perfect). Their brewed coffee is way too strong in most cases; the flavor, however, is #1. Thanks for allowing me to voice my preferences!
I starting drinking Seattle's Best Coffee about two years ago. The closest store is about four hours north of where I live. I look forward to getting to go to Portland to have a wonderful, satisfying cup of joe. Love it and give it two thumbs up.
Pros: delicious
Cons: Inconvienent, expensive
I am sorry, but Seattle's Best Coffee, is not our best, it isn't even good. Starbucks is far better, and deserves recognition for being so.
A coffee shop should focus on coffee -- not be a cinnamon roll store that decides to pick up on the coffee craze.
SBC is a disgrace! The coffee always tast burnt. They should change the name to Seattle's WORST coffee!
I like a good cup of coffee, Seattle Best is the greatest coffee I have every tasted. It is so good I send it to my family every year at Christmas
Pros: Mild taste, great value, flavor
Seattle's best coffee is not Seattle's Best Coffee. It is following suit with Starbuck's and Tully's. Get some real Seattle's best coffee, by avoiding the three major coffee chains...
Pros: Everywhere
Cons: Expensive, Lacking personality
Full bodied and flavorful. Great way to start the day.
I have dad some of the works amaricano's at SBC, and it is not even a Seattle Company.
starbucks is better. Their coffee is to acidic. But I like their soy lattes.
It has been awhile since we've had coffee there, but they had a wonderful selection, with the coffee being flavorful without the burnt taste that is typical of the Starbucks blend.
Pros: Good product, knowledgable staff, good variety
Cons: limited hours, limited locations
Used to be a die hard SBC fan, so much eventually worked for the company. However, of late the worst coffee I have ever had has been from SBC. Since SBC was bought out by AFC their quality and customer service is awful. What used to be the best rice/soy milk latte in the industry is so consistently awful, that I only order tea. Not to mention cafe's need a serious image and customer service overhaul. Was at Kirkland SBC twice this week, not by choice, each time at least three employees stood behind the bar chatting away, while the condiment station was disgusting with milk and napkins strewn about and garbage overflowing. It was so gross it made me feel sick to my stomach. After that even my friends aren't interested in going back. Starbucks it isn't my favorite roast but, quality, cleanliness, and customer service are always consistent.
Pros: Toddy Coffee, Teas, Americanos
Cons: Bad soy & rice drinks, Dirty, Poor quality control
I prefer a coffee shop that does not make mochas from pre-mixed chocolate milk
Pros: iced drinks okay
Cons: bad parking
Seattle's Best Coffee really isn't the best. It was actually my first espresso experience about 10 years ago. I don't really care for it now....
Pros: Mocha Almond Joy
Cons: Bitter Coffee
While they hope the name might indicate their quality, Seattle's best coffee is not found within the walls of the stores initialed SBC.
The lack of quality control and training means you get a different quality cup of coffee whichever store you go. The espresso, while being roasted too lightly, is ground too finely or pulled too long, resulting in a green, bitter tasting shot at the bottom of your cup.
It is unfortunate that they took a moniker deserved by another company and made that their name. The result is a company that stays in business because their name indicates something they cannot sell.
Better prices, better brew @ Cafe Ladro... If you are thinking of a great latte or cup of coffee ... make the extra effort to visit a ladro.
Poor roasting technique . . . generally bitter coffee, with very inconsistent services across all SBC stores. If you like adventure and inconsistent tast, go to SBC - Seattle's Worst Coffee.
Pros: good variety, white chocolate Moca
Cons: poor quality, biter coffee, under roasted
Great coffee, friendly staff and not at all sanctimonious like Starbucks.
Pros: No starbucks ego
