On November 7, 2010, my fiance and I ordered take out from India's Castle. We both have severe nut allergies so we ordered two dishes we had had before and knew would be nut free. Upon getting home with our meal, we noticed that the Chicken Vindaloo that we ordered looked different than usual. My fiance called the restaurant, and they assured us there that were no nuts in that dish. I ate the Chicken Vindaloo, but my fiance did not. About 45 minutes later, I went into anaphylactic shock and nearly died on the bathroom floor. I was rushed to the emergency room twice that night due to complications from this allergic reaction. Upon returning to India's Castle to inform them of this mistake that had almost cost me my life, we were met with total denial of accountability on the part of the management. The manager/owner offered to make us new food. We told him that there was no way we were eating in this restaurant again. He next offered gift certificates that we could use or give to someone else. When we said we wanted the cost of our meal back, as well as the $200 out-of-pocket cost for the ER visits, he said that was not possible. The manager did end up giving us the $40 for the meal we bought on Sunday, but refused to go any further than that stating that this was the first time this has happened in 20 years. We told him it honestly didn't matter if this was the first time it had happened because it was almost my last meal ever. He continued to deny accountability. This is concerning on many levels, but mostly because this may have been the first mistake that this restaurant knows they made, but if they continue to deny responsibility, there is a greater chance it could happen again and with a far more dire outcome. If you have food allergies, or just want to eat in a place that is owned by someone who cares about the safety and quality of the food they serve, do not eat at India's Castle!

Before visiting this restaurant we read the reviews.
People either chose 5* or 1*. Interesting isn't it ?
After visiting it we can say its not worth more than 1*.
Now we can understand that all those 5 star reviews are written by the hotel management themselves
The place stinks. Taste was naaaaa, it also caused bad stomach for two of us next day.
only good thing about it was Indian Hot Chai.
Try food there at your own risk.

India's Castle is a wonderful choice for Indian food. I especially love the lunch buffet, for the taste, variety and value. The atmosphere is cozy and colorful and they even have belly dancing certain nights for entertainment! Great service.

India's Castle is the best Indian food in the Colorado. My family has sampled Indian Cuisine from many parts of the world and this place rocks! Try the Chicken Ticca Masala or the Tandoori Chicken. They have 5 great Indian beers in bottles.

I was turned onto this place nearly two years ago by people who had been going to a year before that. I've known India's who grew up in in India and the food at India's Castle is just like how my friends cook. Some of the other places really Americanize their food, but I haven't found this place to do it -- from their naan to their tea.

Their prices are not high or low for Indian food, but the quality and service is much higher than other Indian locations in the Denver-Metro. In fact, I'm on my way in right now to pick up some Saag with Garlic Naan, and I will gladly drink a King Fisher while I wait.

The experience at this restaurant left a very bad taste in my mouth. The first time I went to this restaurant along with 4 of my friends not everyone was hungry as we had just spent time at a bar&grill. So only 2 of us orderded. The owner talked in a very rude manner and told, only if everyone is eating can we sit there and suggested that we take a To Go. We just left the place not able to believe the ridiculos behavior. One of the guys among us was a regular there. In the recession driven economy where restaurants got effected visibly sooner than any other business only a fool will treat his customers this way.

I'm surprised I saw some bad reviews on here. India's Castle is one of our favorite restaurants. The manager / owner is super friendly and often comps us appetizers or dessert. The food rocks, Indian food is my favorite and this is my favorite restaurant in Colorado. I've never had anything bad here. I give it 5 plus!

This place has a tremendous lunch buffet that is very reasonably priced. Every time I take my car to the dealer for an oil change I have lunch at this place and I have always been happy. I have no idea what the dinner service is like, and I don't care, because the lunch buffet is top notch and under ten bucks.

first of all, this isnt an indian restaurant. its run by pakistanis and arabic people claiming to be indian.. i hv never seen such horrible service in any restaurant in any part of the world.

i was eating my appetizer and my entree happened to be ready. the server came down and removed my appetizer plate without even asking me. it was so insulting.. when i reported this to the manager, he asked me to learn some patience and behavior.

i just paid my check and went out without even eating my entree. i saw atleast 75% of the customers having trouble with the manager there.

if you want real indian food, this is not the place to be. i didnt see a single hindu guy out there and i dont understand how this could be an indian restaurant.

shame on u pakis and arabic people!

We have dined here many times. At first, my husband and I went without the kids and enjoyed the vegetarian full meal for 2 immensely. Later, I took the teenagers who were absolutely thrilled with the food. We had the butter chicken which was outstanding. They will adjust the seasoning in the foods for any taste. Their service is impeccable and the dining room is very elegant.

I've eaten at India's Castle more times than I'd care to admit (4) because of the lack of Indian restaurants in the vicinity. Each time i say I'm not going back, and so I don't for about a year...but this time is for good even if I have to learn how to cook Indian food.

Here's some details: if you want your drink refilled be prepared to wait for ten to fifteen minutes and/or to try to grab the attention of the owner or his non-English speaking busboy/grandpa.

Don't bother getting a plateful of the chicken curry if at the buffet. All the best Indian restaurants I've eaten at don't skimp on the quality of their buffet chicken or meat. I couldn't eat the chicken I had on my last visit.
If for some reason you have to eat at the buffet stick to the vegetarian side.

I have been going to India Castle for 5+ years and love the food and have always had great service. The owner is always friendly and offers a drink if the food is not ready when we pick up. We have never waited more than 5 mins to pick up food to go. The food is always good. I have never had the lunch buffet, but dinner has always been enjoyable, both in the restaurant and for take out.

This is the most pathetic restaurant I have ever visited. The owner of the restaurant was very rude and do not know how to talk with the customers. They served us tea which tasted like made a day before. The dining area was not clean and I spotted a hair in one of the dishes. In short, I would highly recommend not to go there. Believe me its total waste of money. Nice try India's Castle Staff for leaving nice review about the restaurant!!

Went to lunch here on the advice of a local newspaper. What a waste of money. The staff was very rude to myself and my friends, trying to rush us through our lunch to give our table to others that were waiting. The food was so-so. The naan was dry, the chicken tasted old. The service was poor, no matter what we tried we could not get our drinks served to us. I would not go back to this place.

One the best in Colorado:

The food and India?s castle is from North India. It has choice of spicy and mild spicy choices. The buffet is very elegant and very tasty. I and my wife have been for dinners also and food is suitable for calm evening. The dinning area is very nice and tables have candles. Environment is very romantic and my wife lived it.

I highly recommend for people who like to have some great time with their friends and family.

Thanks,
Paul

I'm not sure which restaurant the previous poster was referring to, but my wife and I thoroughly enjoy India's Castle. Sure, their buffet is somewhat limited; however, their standard fare (i.e., take-out, etc.) is very good. We get take out from here about once a month, and we must say that we have never received poor service. As a matter of fact, the owner is amazingly friendly, and knows my wife and me by name, and he always greets us with a fresh cup of chai. Overall, I would recommend going there for dinner or take out. Try their tikka masala - the best in town. And their samosas are fabulous. Their menu is extensive, and from my understanding, very authentic.

I have had lots of Indian food around Denver and in New Delhi. This place is the worst by far. The service was also horrible. Dal was not cooked. They tried to pass off old dry chicken as tikka. The chicken curry only had a hint of curry flavor.

Even after complaining, there was no offer of better food or compensation for poor food quality. The staff rarely checks on the tables except to try to rush customers out by bringing the check early. Also, this was my first experience where a tip (gratuity) was expected at a buffet. I recommend avoiding India's Castle.
