Wells Fargo's Internet banking is far superior to anyone else's. They've consistently had excellent browser compatibility, good performance, and the site is always available. Questions sent via the web site are generally answered the next day, though sometimes they misunderstand what I ask and I have to go around again through the same bureaucratic channels.
Although this giant bank does have an annoying bureaucracy, I've always been able to get local help navigating it.
Wells Fargo Mortgage surprised me by offering incredibly low rates. I hadn't planned to even ask Wells Fargo since their auto loan rates are so awful-- boy was I surprised! Refinancing is easy and relatively painless, and my local mortgage officer at this branch keeps an eye out for lower rates to see if another refinance might be to my advantage. She has struck an excellent balance between helping out and not being too pushy.
The Wells Fargo "Portfolio Management Account" will likely be free if you have a mortgage balance. This account gives all kinds of excellent services at no or low cost. This is a great relief from the nickel-and-diming to death that Wells Fargo would otherwise do. This account alone is worth the very slightly higher rate I pay on my mortage vs. the very best rate I found.
Wells Fargo also offers online stock trading much like E*Trade or others, but at a very low cost with the above account. This is linked directly to the same web page as is used for banking so transfers and balance checks are easy.
Most importantly, I can have all the above in one place which saves me loads of time when keeping track of my finances.
PROS: Easy 24hr Internet Access, One Stop Shop, Great Mortgage Rates
CONS: Bureaucratic, Always compare rates
