From under the petite awning at Chris, the premier San Francisco designer consignment boutique, you'll see the creations from Dolce & Gabbana, Puci, Armani, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Versace, Fendi, Nicole Miller, Diane von Furstenberg, Miu Miu, Prada, Chanel and others. Casual attire from Banana Republic, Kenneth Cole, True Religion and Bebe are also featured. This packed San Fran thrift store is only thrifty when it comes to their prices. All pieces are in excellent condition. From clothes and accessories to luxury garments, shoes and men's consignment store finds, Cris has it all. Costume and fine jewelry are also carried to make pulling your perfect outfit together a breeze. For a San Fran designer store without the designer prices, stop by Polk Street's Chris.
Cris

My daughter and I visited from CT, and I love shopping in consignment shops and the such. Cris was recommended to us while we were shopping on the wharf. We were very impressed with the shop, and also with the friendliness of Cris herself. On a return trip, I hope to visit again. Beautiful items. Thanks.

This consignment store has not only the most beautiful variety of clothes, but a gorgeous layout. I am a consignment junkie and had passed this place up, thinking it was a full-price boutique - that's how beautifully things are displayed. The owner has fabulous taste and has amassed endless racks of couture at extremely reasonable prices. My only complaint is that when my girlfriend was there, it seemed that there were much more smaller (2 - 4) and larger (10 - 12) sizes of couture - middle sized girls like her in the 6 - 8 range had probably picked through a little more. However, she still hit the motherlode on two gorgeous pieces. Beautiful shop - I highly recommend a visit.

Went to Cris with a friend a while back, and was pretty surprised to find such a store. Granted, I'm male and do not wander into such stores on my own, but I still liked this place. My friend said the deals are good, and the customer service, well, I can tell that the person who was working there that day was very, very nice.

Fabulous Consignment Store

This is a fabulous consignment boutique in San Francisco's Russian Hill! It carries a wonderful selection of clothing, handbags, shoes and outwear. This is a great place to either sell (you get 50% of what it sells for) or buy stuff. Like all consignment stores you need to do the work of looking through everything but the selection is great and the atmosphere nice. Sometimes items can seem to be a bit "high" in terms of price but Cris, the owner, is open to bargaining ... which I love. Cris is a sweet woman to talk to when the shop isn't slamming busy. I do not like manner of her grumpy husband who is sort of pretentious and, well, grumpy. Overall, though, it's a winner - this past weekend I bought a beautiful brand-new Banana Republic suede jacket for $89. I think that's a deal!
PROS: Great Selection of Consigment Goods, Small and easy to shop at
CONS: Sometimes prices can be a bit high

boutique without attitude
by nhl
Have you ever felt intimidated to venture into a boutique because you weren't wearing the latest labels? Fear you'll be ignored by a turned up nose? Heaven forbid - have the nerve to ask for assistance?? Hold your head up high and forge ahead to CRIS; for the ultimate shopping experience. It all begins and ends with the incomparable owner, Cris. Women will stop by just to see what she is wearing because she has the most impeccable style and taste. To top it off, she will offer you tips and tricks to look YOUR best. (She is better than any style book or TV show!) It's hard to believe that this is a consignment boutique since most of the top designer items look brand new. (You can be certain that all of your discovered treasures come from VERY good homes!) Accesories galore, items you never dreamed would reside in your dresser or closet. You will become a devotee in no time. Paying retail will become the ultimate sin once you discover how much $ you'll save at this little treasure. After a few visits, it will be as if you are a member of an exclusive women's club. You'll find yourself repeating this mantra every morning while you're getting dressed, "What would Cris think?"
Pros: the ultimate in couture service and shopping at a great price
Cons: don't forget to feed the meter

Hidden Treasure

Cris is a delightful hidden treasure on Polk street with upscale vintage pieces. I have always had a great experience here and highly recommend it!
Cons: parking

Drive an hour and a half to shop here
by cstavjanik
I love this place. I prefer to shop here rather than some of the shops like Neimans, etc. I find more interesting, top-designer pieces here. Think Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Prada.
Pros: Great stuff, Great prices
Cons: Street parking

Consignment As it Should Be
by raisbac
This boutique is my first stop in SF when I am looking for something wonderful to wear-- BEFORE I hit the boutiques of Sacramento Street or Saks and Neimans on Union Square. You can't count on an exact piece, but you can be sure it will be a designer or couture piece of excellent quality and very fairly priced. I've found more than a few items here that were heavily featured runway or editorial pieces from a few seasons prior. If you can live with the "shame" of last season's Prada and willing to spend 1/4 to 1/2 of retail, you should keep Cris in your address book.
Pros: selection, quality, value
Cons: Polk St. parking, unpredictable stock, not always your size

The best clothing store in the Bay Area
by anndiva
CRIS is my favorite clothing store in the Bay Area. The quality is outstanding: from Couture to higher end Ready to Wear - the clothing is impeccable and stylish. I also find the most amazing shoes and purses. Cris has such a wonderful sense of style - I love her window displays. Whenever I wear clothing from CRIS, I receive many compliments. For a consignment store, there is always something new and wonderful. CRIS, by far, is the best clothing store in the Bay Area.
Pros: quality, customer service, variety
