Straight forward, quick, efficient, cost effective AND LOWEST PRICED, BEST SERVICE IN TOWN. They gave me a one day turn around and NO bait and switch or price jacking on scanning and recovering my system. Sara and her crew (ha, ha-just remember "we share" Sara) speak english, not "computerese" and cover all the bases coming in and going out the door. Expect a thorough entrance interview if you are going there with an operating problem. This place is "mine" for tech repair, make it "yours".

I wanted a graphics card installed. Great customer service but way too high. The graphics card I got was a Gforce 440 GT 1 GB DDR3. It was onsale for 189.00 the original price on the back said like 269.00. I thought it was a great deal...until I got home and looked up the price on amazon. I can get the exact same one on there for 79.00. They know what they are doing but I wouldnt by the hardware from there.

Two complete new computer systems, outside Lewiston and some of the usual glitches; however, we can honestly say that we are beyond thrilled at the service we have gotten from this business. They don't talk "at" you with "computer-eez", but rather converse WITH you in language that actually makes sense. They are knowledgeable, cheerful, considerate and best of all patient with all our questions, both in person and over the phone. We put off purchasing new computers because we didn't want to have to learn all new "stuff" about them and couldn't face the cords and wires and setup prompts we didn't understand. No worries -- they did it all for us, and in record time! Could not recommend anyone better! They will be getting all our computer business from now on!

The customer service was outstanding and the knowledge was fabulous! But when I go my computer back it still had "dust bunnies" in the hard to reach areas, I was surprised they didn't clean it out. Just saying.... when you take your car in for service they at least vacuum it out for you.... When you go the extra mile people tend to give a better referral.

I have been taking my computer to the Computer Guy for a few years now. I feel real comfortable with them . They do not push things at you but work to make your computer do the best job for me.
You can drop in and ask them for advice anytime and don't give up until you are fixed.. Prices are always very reasonable. I recommend them to anyone needing professional service ar advice on their computer. I rate them 5 star

These fellows are very knowledgeable regarding computers and they are very helpful. They have the ability often, to correct your computer problems "remotely" over the internet. Their prices on equipment and service work are very competitive also. It is good to know that they are local and readily available to help when needed because that also do "on premise" work as well.

I went in there a while back for a new hard drive on my mom's laptop. They told me over the phone that it cost one price and was in stock. When I got there, they tried to charge me 15$ extra AND they had to order it in! Then guess what? They had the gall to try to sell me a new laptop after all that. Sorry, guys. Leave that behaviour to the used car salesmen.

Unless a customer is able to specify the type & size hard drive (HDD), it’s difficult to provide anything other than an estimate. To ensure accuracy, we ask that the computer be brought into our store where our certified technicians will determine (free of charge) the correct HDD type, size and cost. Then, the customer can either accept or refuse the repairs. Additionally, should the cost of repairs/upgrades exceed the value of the computer, we discuss the option of a new computer (with warranty) versus spending money on costly repairs. This may be what you were referring to in your review. Small businesses must keep prices low to compete with big box stores. In truth, we actually make more money on services than by selling new computers. We discuss all options with our customers enabling them to decide the "best bang for their buck." The knowledge base is obvious here, with friendly service beyond mere sales. These folks help you understand your options without using techno terms. Friday of Memorial Day weekend, 8AM, as I was starting to input business invoices my computer relayed message: Your hard drive is starting to go down. Press any key to continue. Instead of continuing, I called the 24 hour emergency service number. I was advised to take computer for analysis, be there by 9 and maybe I could get computer out by business closing.
The hard drive problem was confirmed and the representative called to tell me and also get my permission before replacing the hard drive. He stated clearly the cost, made no promises as to when I would get computer.
That PM I was called to pick it up. Not being a computer whiz, I learned my problems were not all corrected. I wasn't able to re-load business software or get my e-mails. So, I decided to just forget the computer and enjoy the long weekend. On Tuesday, my problems were corrected remotely at no extra charge to me. I estimate that correction took about 2 hours, during which I was also on the phone with The Computer Guy.
I appreciated the help and the thoughtfulness. I recommend this business to my friends and anyone who asks about computers.

When it wasn't cost effective to fix my old desktop I bought a new customized desktop from The Computer Guys and was very happy with the service, the price and how fast they put it together. I was so satisfied that I brought in my laptop for them to clean up and check out.

Was having trouble with my computer and took it in to the Computer Guys and they worked their magic! I had to have a full system recovery and it was scary and very upsetting to say the least. Chuck, the computer guy and his staff have been working on my computers for more than 7 years.
Today I was having a problem and they did a "remote" assist so that I didn't have to bring my computer to the shop and they didn't have to leave the office. It was fast , safe and fun to watch. They fixed all my concerns in record time.
They are the only people that I trust my computers with.

I took my computer to the Computer Guy for updates on April 28th.. I also had a list of questions, ranging from inability to copy and paste to setting the screen to tool bars and e-mail address changes. Travis was an absolutely excellent at assisting me. He carefully took me through all of my concerns and showed me how to do what I'd asked as well as gave me other excellent information. He was gracious and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable in returning to the Computer Guy with further computer concerns.

My name is Mynique and I am a stay at home mom with a newly started side business doing portraits. I needed a new computer to meet my small business needs and I needed someone who knew a whole lot more about computers than I did. I admit I call myself a "computer novice" at best, but I was able to speak with both Sara and Chuck about my needs. Both people were extremely helpful, very informative and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about not knowing what I needed or about the fact that I know very little about computers. They also suggested things I would never have even thought to use such as a back up hard drive and a battery back up surge protector. I also needed them to come to my home to set everything up because I don't know how to do it. They were able to take care of all of my needs and let me know that I could ask them for help with anything that I need. They also offer 24 hour tech support and a one year warranty on my computer and accessories. I found that to be an extremely comforting fact considering if buying from most major retailers, you only get a 15 to 30 day warranty on your p.c. I will continue to use the computer guy for my needs and for their outstanding customer service and knowledge of their products. Whether you are a beginner, novice or expert in computers, The Computer Guy staff and their staff are the kind of business anyone would want to use for their computer needs. Thank you

We appreciate your business very much. Part of our standard customer service procedure is to ensure product quality and functionality. When you left our store, your brand new laptop was undamaged and functioning normally. When you returned two days later the screen was shattered. Upon further inspection it was apparent that the laptop had taken a blow to the screen and the point of impact was visible to the naked eye. As we discussed that day, none of our certified technicians have ever seen an LCD screen spontaneously shatter – even under extremely cold conditions. We handle all warranty issues for our laptops and custom-built computers. After reiterating Toshiba’s warranty policy, you recognized this instance clearly did not fall within the manufacturer’s warranty policy. However, in the interest of customer service, you were offered a brand new replacement screen at our cost with free installation. Seemingly satisfied, you accepted our offer. Your screen was ordered, received and installed within 5 days. I hope that you will agree that we were able to bring this situation to a satisfactory conclusion. My laptop recently died on me and I took my laptop in to get help. Sara had them check it out and they discovered that it was a power issue and pretty much the motherboard was toast. They said they could still mostly like get whatever I needed off the hard drive. Sara helped me shop for a new computer and gave me lots of good information. I didn't end up buying my laptop there, because work offers a great deal and help with $, but I did buy a Toshiba off what she had to tell me. I recently took my old laptop back up there to have them retrieve my music files off it for me. They were very helpful and even though it took a little longer (because I didn't bring my external & had to go home & get it) they still only charged my the 1/2 they quoted me. Will definitely be back for all my computer needs and recommend others to do their business their also.

I just bought a new system from the Computer Guy and I am extremely satisfied. I am recently retired and just about as ignorant about how to set-up and use a computer efficiently as anyone can get (I used various kinds of software at work but relied on IT support staff to do all the configuration and system settings). Chuck and the crew at the Computer Guy have set up my new system, loaded all my old data, showed me great efficiencies, built up my confidence & generally brought me into the 21st century! Great customer service.

These guys seem to be the only computer repair company in the L/C Valley that understands the phrase "Customer Service". I bought my computer online from Dell and couldn't get any satisfaction from their "tech support". I called The Computer Guy and they walked me through my problems over the phone and didn't charge me a dime - and they told me I could bring my computer into their shop anytime for free diagnostics. I was so happy to have found the Computer Guy! Here's my story: I had flown in for a business trip and needed 3 pages printed. My hotel's computer was down, and they didn't offer to help. I had to drive around town and find the Staples store. The woman who helped me was very kind but out of all the computers they have, the only one that could print my documents was a computer that was down and Tech Support was working on.. and they had no idea how long it would take ..after already waiting 14 minutes..they pointed me down the street to another location.. which I couldn't find... BUT I found the Computer Guy! Once I walked in I realized they didn't really do this but they were kind enough to help me out. Chuck the owner made it seem like it was no big deal.. but it was a big deal to me and I really appreciated it. The other staff member there was just as friendly and all were very professional and wanted to make it right for the customer.. regardless of the task...if I lived here, I would go to the Computer Guy for all my computer needs and.. they offer FREE 24/7 Tech Support - I don't get that with my service now!!

The customer service is second to none at The Computer Guy. They make an effort to greet me when I enter their office and give me an idea of the time I may need to wait for help. Yes I have had to wait for assistance at their office, but when it is my turn they are curtious, and efficient. These guys are AWESOME! I don't write reviews. But, these guys went above and beyond for me and a review is warranted in this case.

Here's what happened: My computer kept getting infected with viruses and the pop ups (from nasty sites) were getting out of control. Prior to this, I had taken my computer to one of the other computer companies in town and they never actually seemed to "fix" the problem. They would put on free software and it seemed to work for a while, but then the problems would reoccur. So, a co-worker of mine told me that she ONLY uses The Computer Guy and that I should take my system to them. Well, obviously, I'm glad I did. These guys explained things to me about the "free" software and why my computer would always get reinfected. They were very patient and so incredibly thorough. Long story short, my computer is like brand new and runs like new. I want to thank The Computer Guy techs for being so kind and taking the time to explain things to me in a language that I could understand. You gentlemen have a customer FOR LIFE!

Great service! A+++. I've tried just about every other computer company in town. These guys know their stuff! My computer crashed 2 days before leaving on a business trip. A friend told me about the computer guy and said they were the place to go. I was skeptical because I had used other companies in the valley and my computer was worse off when I got it back then when I first took it in. I took it to the computer guy and they had it back in 24 hours (as promised) and it ran like a dream. Good job guys... you've got my business for life!

Very fast turn around. I'm new to the area and a friend referred me to this company. I took my computer in because I kept getting the "blue screen of death." The tech explained the issue (viruses and spyware) and started work immediately. I got the computer back the next day and it's been running perfectly ever since. I purchased Norton Anti Virus and they installed it on my computer -- I haven't had any problems with viruses since then.
