Fringe Hair Salon & Day Spa

I was referred to the salon and told that a particular stylist was great with highlights. I needed color correction after attempting to color my hair back to it's natural color so that I could have highlights put back in that were not so solid blonde. The stylist got rid of the brassiness, however, she didn't let the highlights come up enough so I now had mousey brown hair. While she was working on me, she also had 2 other clients she was juggling at the same time, hence, why the color didn't come out right. I told her it was too dark and she said to give it a week- it'll fade. If not, she'd be happy to put in more highlights for me- "I'll do that for you" I was told. A week later, I went back for those highlights. She had no clients, but I was kept waiting for a half hour. I told her I was back for those highlights she offered, and after seeing what she's done the week before, she said she wanted to do lowlights too. As soon as she got started with me, her next client came in and she ditched me under the dryer to go work on her - juggling again. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to stick around to have my hair dried since she started late, so I just had to trust she fixed the problem. It wasn't until later that I realized the blonde was left in too long, and the lowlights were the wrong color- I now have orange running thru, which I now need to have corrected. The kicker- She charged me FULL PRICE to fix her previous mistake (I'm kicking myself for tipping her!). Needless to say, I won't be returning. If you want one on one attention with a stylist who is conscientious about her work, go elsewhere.

Hi my name is Julie!! About two months ago I went to Marissa and got the brazilian blowout treatment and it is AMAZING!! I loved it and has basically changed my life :) before I had frizzy big curly hair and now I have smooth beautiful wavy hair! and also straightening only takes me 10 to 15 minutes and before it took me about an hour. The salon has a friendly staff and a great enviroment! I recommned everyone to go there because it's the best!!!

the fringe salon in santa monica is the best salon i have ever been to. i have coming here for years and it still amazes me how good this salon is with color, styling and now i have tried the brazilian treatment and i am totally addicted to it!!!! i do believe if you come here once and tried the salon you will never go anywhere else. this place rocks!!!!!! marisa is the greatest at brazilian treat ment... i am a big fan of the fringe!!!!

Every time I go to Fringe I leave happier than when I left. It's a fun environment with lots of laughter and the stylists really know their stuff. I get my hair done by Linda, the owner, and she knows I'm OBSESSED that my hair is perfectly even (I had several traumatic inverted bobs before Fringe)...I don't even have to check anymore...she makes sure that I don't have to come back to get my hair 'evened out'. You should definitely give Fringe a try!

From the minute I walked in, I knew I was going to have a great experience. I have never been to such a welcoming relaxed salon. The owner greeted my friend and I, which made us feel comfortable and welcomed. She was very kind and even accommodated my friend and I so we could sit beside each other while we were getting our hair done. She spoke to her employees so kindly. It was so refreshing to be there, you can tell she truly cares about her employees and customers. My stylist was Clara and she did an amazing job. I am extremely picky about my hair and she made me feel completely at ease. She knew what she was doing and was very patient with all my questions. I have been searching high and low for the perfect salon in LA and I finally found it...FRINGE:)

For years I wore the same style, but after a little convincing, Marisa gave me a very sassy modern cut that makes me look years younger. I used to spend way too long in the morning blowdrying and flat ironing, but now my hair requires little effort and looks fabulous all the time! Besides being the best stylist, she is so personable and funny. I used to go to the salon just to get my hair done, but with her It's a total experience!

I was planning my wedding from out of town and I had to find a salon for my bridesmaids to get their hair done. I called several salons in Santa Monica and the receptionist at Fringe was by far the nicest and most accomodating. When we arrived to the salon every stylist was so sweet and welcoming. My bridesmaids' hair turned out beautiful. I can't comment on the cuts or color done by the stylists at Fringe, but the overall experience for my bridal party was absolutely perfect! Thank you Fringe!!!

In all of my 30 years (for 15 of which, I've been gettin' my hair done), I've never walked out of a salon and felt so HAPPY. Like ALIVE-happy. The kind where you look yourself in the mirror and just say, "wow; that is exactly what I wanted, and more!"

I highly recommend MEGHAN. She's fun, accommodating, sharp and just knows exactly what she's doing. She can recommend what'd be good or bad, depending on your face-type (and, if you don't exactly know what you want, but you know you want something different & fun). MEGHAN you were amazing. Thank you, I'll most definitely be back!

I have 20 years of painful coloring experience and to finally, after so long, be able to get the hair color i have been dreaming of... It was a blessing to find this place. The girls were great, and took their time with me in the consultation to work out their plan of attack. Believe me, i have so many salons'tried and tested' only to walk out unsatisfied. Fringe, im here to stay. Really!

I moved here from Atlanta, Georgia at the beginning of April. I was tired of my haircut and color so I attempted to do-it-myself and ended up with hair the color of the stars on this page. Frustrated with the outcome I jumped on City Search and Fringe Hair was the first one that I clicked on and picked up the phone and called. I was amazed that I got an appointment and had not even read the reviews - other than to see there were 24 with high start rating... besides I messed my hair up so bad even Supercuts would have been an improvement! I personally like the pub next door... you can get a glass of wine before and after... nice relaxer. I was set up with Darian, who gave the most amazing massage during the whole ordeal. Ever skeptical of my hair being cut by someone new (It took me two years to grow out the last bad haircut), I walked out of that salon looking and feeling better than I have in years! The cut was phenomenal the color correction spectacular and none of the Los Angeles stylist snobbery. I was completely and totally satisfied. This place, it's entire staff and especially Darian are true talents not to mention life savers... hair is the most important accessory you wear every day so why not make sure it looks it's best all the time.

I discovered this salon two years ago and LOVE it. My stylist, Meghan, is amazing with cut and color. She attentively listens to you while you describe the look you're going for, offers helpful suggestions, and then she delivers a fabulous look! I've lived in NYC and LA, but found my favorite stylist on the beach in Santa Monica. I also like the fun atmosphere of the salon. After a few visits, everyone remembers you and they're all super friendly.

Pros: Great colorists & stylists. Cool & comfortable atmosphere.

Cons: Finding a parking spot in the nearby lots can take some time, so plan ahead to avoid being late.

I had my hair cut by Darian, and he did an amazing job. The cut itself is both solid and full of life, and I have to do very little to maintain it. Even if I've just rolled out of bed my hair still looks great! The salon is a great space, relaxing and chic, and you get to sit in front of oversized floor mirrors. Highly recommend this salon, and stylist Darian.

Fringe was recommended to my by a friend, and I was not disappointed! I got an appointment right away and was given a wonderful haircut and style by Darian. He was creative yet paid attention to detail and practicality so that the cut would look just as good as it grows out. The shampoo, massage, and style were icing on the cake! I will definitely be going back!
The clients were an interesting mix of locals and tourists, and the salon was relaxed and professional. I was surprised to find a great hair salon so close to Third Street.

Darian Riegn Rules as a stylist!!
I went into Fringe with my girlfriend one day to get some hair makeovers and we left looking amazing! Darian tamed my long thick and wavy hair that is really hard to do a good cut on. (To the point that I cringe to change stylists, however I needed a new look). I emerged with a great style and looking polished!
My friend has a short red boyish cut. He did a great dye job on her and a hip new style.
I have never had a cut grow out so well and last for so long!
I just went back for a second cut with Darian last week, and once again, I am thrilled. He gives a great shampoo with Aveda products, great conversation, and is really reasonably priced considering all the celebs he has cut!!
I would highly recommend him! Also everyone is friendly in the salon and it is a really relaxed atmosphere as well!

The staff is professional and helpful, the salon is beautiful but most important, I love my hair cuts and color. Thank you Linda and staff for always being there for me. For the first time in my life I do not leave a salon, go to my car and restyle my hair.

I don't understand why this salon is so well rated. I went there on a Saturday, the place was empty, which is a very bad sign in a hair salon - that should be the busiest day of the week! There were only 3 stylists there, and not a one of them was one that was listed on the website. The place is kind of dark and not very clean. And my experience? The worst haircut I have ever gotten, it really seemed to me that my stylist did not know what she was doing, she kept cutting and cutting, even after my hair was dry. I also got color done, and it was just so-so. All of this was very expensive, way overpriced for such an average to below-average salon. The website does not at all match the actual salon. Would not recommend to anyone.

I've had my hair cut by Tatiana Winograd a couple of times, as well as highlighted, and she does an incredible job. She listens to you with so much intention to give you exactly what you want, and she does just that. And on top of that, she takes her time, is hilarious, and very caring... what a combo!! She is a diamond in the rough in the middle of this crazy city and I have a feeling she'll only get bigger and bigger, so catch her while you can before she only does hair for the stars!!!

Linda Farrall is the absolute best at what she does. I always try and schedule an appointment with her to get my hair cut when I am in LA. Fringe is the best that I have found as Linda has created something special. Her enthusiasm is contagious. She seems to be aware of everything that's going on but still has the skill and professionalism to give me a great cut while making sure everyone is being taken care of. Everyone I have met there is friendly and make it a great experience. I highly recommend it.

I needed a haircut and I wanted something well done... not Supercuts... I went to Tatiana at Fringe, and it was the best haircut. As a guy I was aprehensive about going to a "salon", but it turned out to be a great experience, and my girlfriend loves that I actually do my hair now! Tatiana really listened to what I asked for and made me feel so comfortable! I recommend her to all guys looking to upgrade!

If you are looking for a new stylist, I have a great recommendation! Tatiana Winograd is amazing! She will take her time with you and give you the look you really want. Unlike many stylists, she won't rush you in and out and squeeze you in between 3 other clients. You'll get 100% of her attention and you'll get someone who really cares about making you look great! From extensions to color to the best blow-dry ever, Tatiana is by far the best!

I love my hair, my friends love my hair.They say its the best its ever looked. My talent agency says they love my hair. Thank you Michale for 1--fixing the color and giving me beautiful highlight 2--my Hairlocs extension are amazing I can't feel them in my hair they look so natural and so easy to take care of (finally maybe I'll be able to grow my own hair).They match my color perfectly you can't tell.I love having long hair.Michale totally fixed the botched up job that my last hairstylist did. Michale is my new hairstylist. You rock .......Michale knows her stuff.I guess thats why she is a hairextension educator and the color specialist. I enjoyed the salon everyone is so nice and its a fun atmosphere to spend time in. Michale made me laugh so hard.She has a good sense of humor.That helped because I had to get my color fixed and get my extensions done which takes some time, but the time seemed to past quickly.Good conversation,nice atmosphere and plenty of parking.Fringe Salon is surrounded by restaurants and bars, and a ocean view .Once again thanks Michale for saving my life. I recently had some hair extensions done in West LA and had the glue ones put in. The color of the extensions didnt really match my own hair so you could really tell where my hair ended and the extensions started. I also noticed over a few weeks that my hair began breaking off where it was glued. My hair just felt so damaged. I didnt know what to do, then I heard about Michale form a friend. She is a hair extension educator plus a brilliant stylist. I finally decided to book a consultation. Michale was so lovely, and really understood what I wanted, and obviously knew how to fix them. The hair extensions she used werent glued in and didnt use heat- they were put in by this tiny copper ring. And the best part is that she matched my color perfectly- even the highlights were the same. You cant even notice them at all. I just love having long hair, and a great stylist..... Michale is great!!!!!!!

I've had my hair colored in the past, many times with undesirable results as it never looked natural--always too dark or even orangish. I went to Fringe and explained to Linda that I wanted to cover my random grey roots without changing the shade of brown or the natural highlights from the sun. She took a look and matched my natural color perfectly! I've since returned and received the same wonderful job with again, a perfect color match. I couldn't be happier with the service that I've received there and I'm now recommending Fringe to al of my friends. If you want the best color in town, you've got to visit Fringe!

I have extremely difficult hair and it can look bushy with the wrong cut. I was nervous about trying a new salon but I needed hi-lights and a cut and the location is perfect for me. Linda, the salon owner, really listened to what I wanted and she was able to match my grown out highlight shade perfectly. The cut she gave me is easy to style with minimum effort. I can honestly recommend this salon to my family and friends and now I get many compliments on my hair.

Linda Farrall is amazing. Working in a salon, she developed such a large clientele that she was able to open her own full-service salon, Fringe. She provides a wide array of services and has a large following of enthusiastic and satisfied clients. She has taken great care with my hair needs and always bends over backwards to assure that I am happy with the results. Everyone seems to enjoy her friendly, easy-going manner.

I was searching for a new colorist who wouldn't charge me $350 for just highlights (see Wolf at Jim Wayne Salon for that...). Linda is the best colorist I've been to. She listens to what you want, and does exactly that. If there's any problem or discrepancy, Linda will make it right, period. And, after a few visits, she may persuade you to revise your style a bit to what she's come to know of your personality. I absolutely LOVE the results every time I step out of the salon. With regard to the haircuts...from experience with mediocre cuts in the past, I know that it's not easy for a stylist to make my long hair easy to style on my own. Linda has my business as long as she can fit me into her schedule!!! xoxoxo (you know those are earned when your stylist can do what Linda does!)

I am a 44 year old businessman that can't stop cutting my own hair when it touches my ears. I get carried away sometimes and really make a mess of things. Linda at Fringe took my hackjob gave me a cut that not only looked good when it was done but grew out nicely. Linda carries Aveda products that are natural and environmentally friendly. They cost a little more than the supermarket brands but last twice as long and do what they say they do. If you are tired of your wife paying $400 for a cut and color and hating it, send her to Linda, it may cost the same but she does what you want her to do every time. Guys, the waiting room is an English pub, how can you beat that?

I spent almost 2 hours in the chair getting my haircut by Darian. I have curly hair and he likes to blow-dry and straighten it before cutting. I walked out of there with a great cut, but I was nervous as to how it would look when I finally got it wet...well 1 week later and it looks great. I can't wait to try out other services.

Absolutely the best day spa/salon ever. I have been looking for a salon since I moved out here 3 years ago that was affordable and great service and quality. Look no further. This is the salon, the service was unbeatable Laura, Eddie and Lacy are amazing at what they do. Everything was high class without the high prices. I felt like a celebrity and look like a celebrity after visiting this salon.

I went to see Lacy at Fringe Salon to have facial. It was wonderful! They are doing 1/2 off facials now and she spent over 2.5 hours on me! YOu couldn't beat the price. I have never had that kind of attention at any spa before. I had a customized facial and my skin is so smooth. Everyone at the salon was extremely nice. I think I will go back for some highlights. The owner, Linda, had a great personality. One of the coolest salons/spas I have been to ever! Highly recommended! 5 star place!
