Bidwell Academy-Young Children

Actually, I have to agree with the first reviewer. I worked for years with one of the owners, and saw how she treated not just the kids, but staff and parents as well. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that she has not changed. But, since I now know what to look for in a preschool, I know that my own children will not be attending The Bidwell Academy. It's more of a shame that staff members do not warrant the respect of having not only an opinion, but a say in their own businesses.

I have 2 daughters at Bidwell academy, and they have been there almost from the day the doors opened. They are as happy there as in my own kitchen, some days happier ! I would never accept a review from an ex staff member. The parents reviews matter, and the kids. My kids are always smiling when they go there, and smiling when they leave, that's the review I pay attention to !

Clearly the review posted July 10th 08 was written by a disgruntle employee that has an ax to grind and simply cant move on like a mature adult. Bidwell Academy has wonderful staff that work very hard and are very loving to the children they work with. I would highly recommend that any parent looking for a quality preschool for their child to take a tour of the facility and meet with the staff so that you can come to your own conclusions. Its a shame when people write reviews based on their own personal vendettas and on things they were apparently told.

I am pretty disappointed with Bidwell Academy. I worked there for a brief period and I observed how the employees acted when the parents were away versus face-to-face. I think that they are a little too verbally aggressive with the children and run the center in a authoritarian manner. The teachers are cranky and the directors are more like dictators.They have the resources and the education behind the center that could enable a richer, more loving environment. But overall, they don't utilize those resources. I was told that they don't like to hire people with Bachelor's degrees in child development because they don't comply to their system, and that community college students were easier to "boss around."
....Not exactly a place I would want to send my children. But, perhaps they have changed their ways.
