I randomly went into Isis Bridal and meet with Julia. She couldn't have been more helpful. At that point I had tried on over 30 dresses and just couldn't find something I liked. Julia and her staff were so helpful. I bought a sample

After trying on the first dress of my dreams Casablanca style #1884, I asked the sales associate to check the availability of my size, and said the dress is discontinued.

Julia the owner, emerges to continue the conversation and insistent to continue the conversation in the fitting room alone without the sales associate or the party whom accompanied me.

With the dress still on, she convinced me there would be very minimal alterations with only the back needed to be taken in. She emphasized on minimal alterations and that the dress looks good as it is. She said my size is 8, (although I'm a 2 in regular size) After requesting an alteration quote, Julia was unwilling to provide it, only to say I would need to bring the dress back two months before the wedding. A request was made for an approximate price, to determine the approx final cost, and value decision on the purchase. I wish I had done more research before purchasing the dress! Because I believed Julia's words that the dress was discontinued and no longer around she offered a discount if I purchase the dress, $650.00 with minimal alterations. It appeared to be a good deal.

Upon purchasing the dress, I called Casablanca manufacturer after someone had made me aware of their negative experience during a recent visit. The customer service manager mentioned that Isis Bridal and Tuxedo is not an authorized retailer for Casablanca, and upon further inspection, it appeared there were no tags. Casablanca customer service manager confirmed that all their dresses have two tags. One for the Casablanca brand label, and another for lot information of authenticity. At this point there was nothing they could do to verify the dress was theirs. The dress I purchased had no tags on the inside of the dress. Casablanca??s website lists all authorized retailers and in writing states that all their styles NEVER DISCONTINUE.
I wish I had done more research before purchasing the dress!

Being that this store is not an authorized retailer of Casablanca dresses, I would be concerned about the alteration work, being that only professional seamstresses who are authorized for Casablanca would know the correct modifications and make experienced suggestions. I was told from another professional seamstress due to the size 10 sweetheart bust, there would be major alterations because my size was a size 4. When I asked Julia prior to purchasing she said only the back needed to be taken in, but never mentioned the full extent of alteration requirements, hence the lack of provision of the alteration estimate.

Returning to the store to obtain a refund and explaining to Julia on my recent discoveries, Julia refused a request for a refund. In tears and threatening to go to the Better Business Bureau, her story changed and says she can now order the dress in my correct size but it would be from an ??ALTERNATE SOURCE? for only an additional $300.00, and made a point to say then she will be okay if alterations were done elsewhere. It sounded strange to me. Who is the alternate source if the retailer is not authorized, and the dress is DISCONTINUED? With continued suspicions, I felt the need to confirm the origin of the dress with her. I was surprised at the rude response from Julia stating that I would not understand her very complicated business process, and further questioned me on the need to know the dress?? origin.

I was in tears when I learned that there was nothing I could do at this point. I felt bad for the sales person who was off to the side looking at the computer while listening to the conversation not knowing what to do.

P.S.
It was alarming to later receive an email from Isis Bridal and Tuxedos advertising for a Tent Sale with ALL recipients "CC". Talk about privacy infringement!

The only encouragement in this experience came through when several others responded to my email sharing similar experiences.

I just bought my dress from here! I had gone to a few other places, some good some bad... Isis Bridal gave me the kind of special experience I was looking for. Its a very pretty boutique and is organized. Lisa was my stylist and was a very good listener and didn't try to push me. They were beyond attentive to both me and my bridesmaids, they even hugged us on our way out. Just so nice...I got the dress I dreamed of and all within my budget which was on "low" side. Plus they went through every possible question as well as all the next steps. I am very pleased thus far.

I found a dress I liked and the owner Julia told me the dress was DISCONTINUED. She also said there would be MINOR alterations needed, and refused to quote me an alteration price, and convinced me that it was minimal.\r

I bought my dream dress from Isis Brial & Tuxedo. I had a great experience there. People work there were very helpful and friendly. I liked every single dress and I got my dress half off on tent sales event. I also highly recommend Isis Bridal & Tuxedo. Thanks Julia.

I really say thank you again. I had horrible alteration experience with other bridal store and paid lots of money. It was just 2 weeks before happened. I brought my dress to this store, Isis Bridal, and Rebeca fixed my bustles spending a lot of time and finished in ??One Day?. Number of bustles was 23 pieces.
Next day, I am able to fly to France. Thank God!!
Isis Bridal is small boutique, but they have good selection. I sent all my friends there already.

I was one of the bridesmaids at my friends wedding a couple of months ago, they made so many mistakes with the orders and charge so much for simple alterations to the dresses. The guys got their tuxes there too and it was a complete disaster!!! They took the wrong measurements and brought the tuxes very late the night before the wedding. I don't recommend this place at all.

The service was excellent! They were very personble. Their selection wasn't large, but it had the most beautiful dresses that I had seen in one store. They also had reasonable prices.
