Duke's Ruston Way Chowder Hse

We love their appetizer and chowder. Haven't try all the main dish yet, because there isn't anymore room after the appetizer, salad and chowder. Food are delicious here. We go there frequently.

This place is so yummy. I don't like seafood, but my family does and they think it's great. I happen to know that their burgers are rock-star quality and their chicken is to die for.

I love going to Duke's for lunch. They have a lovely wine selection and their signature chowder is delicious. The staff is courteous and the atmosphere has a nautical flare.

I recently made the mistake of choosing Duke's Chowder House to take my wife for her birthday. The one redeeming part of our evening out was our very nice waitress. The food was barely acceptable and the atmosphere was just adequate. I've never been in a place so anxious to get us fed, collect our money, and get us out the door. Get em in the door, push their meal down them as fast as you can and get em out the door to make way for the next paying customer. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give the food a 2, our waitress however an 8. No sooner had they brought our wine and appetizer than the salad came. At that point I requested they slow things down so we could attempt to enjoy our meal. We just finished the appetizer and the entree arrived (by a different waiter I might add). Our waitress (give her credit) apologized for the kitchen pushing our meal to us, as by the time she requested they slow it down it was already being plated. If I live to be 120, Duke's will not see our faces in their place again. Yuck with a capital YUCK! Spend your dollar elsewhere. You'll be happy you did.
