DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Horrible track record, lousy customer service, liars regarding delivery and bottom of the barrel business practices. We have waited 5 weeks for the socalled "5-8 days delivery" - waited all day for the truck to show up - just to find out they lied - AGAIN - and actual delievery is in 3 months. Meanwhile they have charged full amount 5 weeks ago. Outrageously sub standard. Hide your Visa card and run!

I want to take a quick moment to commend Furniture Corp for their quick response to a delivery mistake. Mistakes happen, however after notifying them that one of the pieces of furniture was the incorrect color/finish they immediately sent the correct piece. I appreciate their efforts to satisfy their customers and as a result would consider them in the future when shopping for furniture.

I purchased a $2700 custom made sectional (Royce) back and seat cushions not to be sewn on, with a recliner that I could sit and watch TV in: And.. I payed $406.95 in return fees for Furniture Corp to pick up a the sectional that wasn't delivered as ordered! My story: Sales Rep Shannon tells me, I can get a custom made sofa with everything I want, the Royce sofa even allows me to take the cushion off and wash them if I want too. WELL, the sectional arrived many weeks later, with all the cushions sewn on and the recliner only goes into a laid back position, (terrible for this style couch since there's no support for the head) we can't even get the recliner to work unless someone lifts the bottom up for you or you throw you body against the back of it trying to get it to lift up so that you can recline it. But when I called and complain, Sophie from Furniture Corp tells me that they had to sew the cushions on or it wouldn't look right. (who cares for what I ordered and pay for, right?)(and the recliner-will it doesn't come the way I payed for it either!) That phone call didn't go well and the rest of the communication went by email. The sectional has other issues as well, knots in the fabric that I think are repair wholes, cushion not sewn straight, a corner wedge seat that slopes, about 3" of stain scratched off the leg, back cushion that isn't stuffed enough so it already looks like you've worn it in, the recliner sit about 2" higher off the ground than the rest of the couch, the back of the recliner feel weak or broken. My choices Sophie tells me: 1.return it and pay a 15% return fee (even though they changed my ordered) 2. take a store credit for the couch price, and pay another delivery fee, "unless if you choose a little cheaper couch and use the remaining store credit in delivery", or 3. have the issues fixed, if the technician thinks there problems and not something that fixes itself with time. But, if I was to chose option 3, option 1 and 2 will no longer be a choice even if I'm not happy with the technician decision. Needless to say I took my refund minus the 15% return fee and ran before they took anymore money away from me. I'll settle the rest up with BBB and anyone else that well listen, or small claims court. Oh, I ordered other furniture at the same time as well, $4,342.80 worth. And had planned to purchase more if all went well. But other furniture had problems too-the dinning table was delivered with the table top and 4 chairs. Missing was 2 chairs, the support bar, and the legs. They wouldn't deliver the missing pieces to my home until the sectional was ready, but did agree to take them to my husbands work and drop them off (since he works just down the street about 10 minutes). But everything was damaged and had to be returned. Eventually... I received all the piece needed for the table undamaged. Now the delivery drivers were very nice, and I believe Shannon thinks what she says is true, since I went back 2 days after the sectional was delivered, mentioned my problems to two other sales lady and they appeared shocked and told me that what I got wasn't right). But Sophie from Furniture Corp doesn''t think so and apparently she's the one in charge and the only one I could talk too. If someone was to ask me about FC, I would tell them their missing a few letters from the alphabet!

This is in regards to a conversation that I had with Hersh on 8/19/2010 after receiving a phone call that I felt was inappropriate and unprofessional. I came in on 8/13/2010 and placed an order for a breakfast nook that cost $912.02. I asked that it be delivered on or after the 25th of August after 5pm, which I was told was absolutely fine. I explained to Shannon that I had not moved into the place and would be out of town. She stated that this was perfectly fine. While on vacation I received a phone call from Sam on 8/16/2010 who stated he was calling to tell me that he would be delivering my order on 8/22/2010. This is when I stated that he should look closely at my order which specifically stated that I wanted it on the above date. He stated that he knew that but that it would be better for his team because they would be delivering other orders on the weekend in my area and it would be more conveint for him. Then he asked me if he could know why I needed it at that time. This is when I told him no, he could not know why I wanted my furniture when I wanted it. He then wanted to know if another day would that he choose would be better for me, and again I said no. Then I told him that I was out of town and did not wish to further discuss the subject, and that I would call him when I returned to town. He then proceeded to tell me he would try and accommodate another date not on the weekend but after the 25th but would call me back in 24 hours. Then I received a phone call from him the next day telling me that he could not deliver my purchase on the day I needed it, and would be delivering it at his convenience three days earlier. (Attached is a copy of the recorded message he left me. Fortunately my voice mail is automatically emailed to me.)

On 8/17/2010 I called and left a message that I wished to cancel my order. My call was returned and a message was left asking me to return the call with a reason for my cancellation. I called back and informed them that I did had chosen not to do business with a organization that displays such poor customer service and that I did not want to spend the type of money I was spending with someone who thinks its ok to bully someone into having their order delivered when it was convenient for the delivery people instead of the customer. This is when I was told I would be called by the manager.

Hersh the manager then called me and I told him my reason for not wanting to do business with his company, and he tried to then make the excuse that Sam did not know when it was to be delivered. I told him that this was not true he knew very well and was very unprofessional in his approach and that I did not with to do business. He continued to try and tell me that it was a misunderstanding and that he wanted to deliver it when I wanted it now. Still not impressed I declined his offer. He then went on to tell me that I would then have to pay a restock fee of 25% for deciding not to do business with them.

So the fact that you are still try to bully me into adhering to this contract tells me that I am right not to do business with you. So you may put the fee on my account or send me bill the for the 25%. The contract dose not say anything about having to do business weather you provide me with excellent customer service or not, of if you default on your end of the contract. I will seek this in civil court if possible.

Eight months later - our apartment is all furnished. Most of our furniture came from Furniture Corp and I am so happy with it! I like the compliments on our interior all the time!
We bought everything from sectional couch to dining room tables to bedroom set and even our wine cabinet from this store. Isn't it awesome that the fabric that I chose on the sectional , any stains are cleanable with just a Clorox wipe out !! I would say I bought a "worry- free" sectional couch from this place.
For me Furniture Corp is still the best place to go for affordable , quality furniture!

The couch we ordered looks beautiful.
The best part is, when we got delivered our gorgeous couch in our house, we realized we wanted to change the dimensions of the original we purchased, and voila! They did accommodate me immediately, even though they charged a small fee for the alteration. Could not be happier and would easily recommend their custom furniture to all.

We got to pick our own fabric, leg color, arm style, tufts, and everything we wished. If you are into minimal new age designs, at reasonable prices and you are the kind wherein you want what you want, then this is the store for you...

Furniture Corp is one of my favorite places ever . They have great furniture - it's young, classy, contemporary. Specially their sofas and sectionals are soooo gorgeous and very customizable. You can choose your fabrics, sizes, colors, leg color, leg style , just think about it and you shall get at furniture corp! :
Also, they are very helpful when you are making your selections . Its " THE" store to go when you finally decide to buy the perfect sectional sofa , of your choice of fabric , and your exact size. A store to go to when you need that 'real' wood Dining Table with sturdy and classy chairs!

The people who work there aren't on commission, so they're not trying to push a purchase down your throat. They are not fighting over who gets to take care of a customer, either. It's a very nice atmosphere, with nice quality furniture that won't easily go out of style.

I found Furniture Corp as a very well managed company. When I purchased the furniture the lead time given to me was 5-10 business days.
I received a call from them soon after placing the order to confirm the delivery within 5 days itself. On the day of delivery got a call from the driver 15 minutes before the driver came in. : While assembling one of the legs of the chair got damaged so called them and they right away asked for some more details and informed me that the legs will be shipped out directly through UPS within 7 days. Very Quick Response. And guess what next day I got my tracking no. and within 3 days I got the part.
JUST AMAZED TO SEE HOW QUICK AND ACCURATE THEY ARE.
It was an amazing hassle free experience.

I took a chance and ordered the chairs first to get a sense of the quality. Expecting to wait several weeks, I was surprised when the table arrived within 7 days. I was extremely impressed with the way it was packed for shipping and the quality of the product exceeded my expectations. I immediately ordered the table. That too arrived within 7 days.
All in all had a nice experience.

We picked out an adorable "condo" size sofa with custom upholstery and another chair that looks cute with it.

Unbelievable! The worst place ever to do business.
We waited weeks for the delivery of our furniture only to receive damaged and defective merchandise. Additionally, the interior walls were damaged and scratched by their delivery staff--SF Outlet hasn't mention any recovery for this situation. We have spoken to four staff member about the return and refund for this merchandise, but haven't received any acknowledgment. We will never purchase anything from Select Furniture Outlet. Please avoid the consumer nightmare,

If I could give ZERO STARS, I would. I ordered a dresser and nightstand for my nephew who was returning for his sophomore year at Berkeley. I ordered it on July 21st and asked for delivery on Aug 4, they day my nephew was moving into his apartment. On Aug. 3 they called to say the item was discontinued and nothing would be delivered the next day. 13 days when they say on the order confirmation that they will deliver in 5-10 days??? Why do they have things listed for sale on their web site when they don't have them in stock? Why didn't their system check the inventory when I placed the order to then say the item is out of stock? Why did they take SO LONG TO TELL ME THEY DON'T HAVE WHAT I ORDERED?

DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS! They are unprofessional and a sorry excuse of a company.

You might say that my nephew will not die if he doesn't have the exact dresser he wanted on the exact date he wanted. My beef is with a company very inept at communicating with customers, a messed up inventory tracking system, a web site that does not accurately reflect the AVAILABLE items for sale and a completely incompetent customer service department. Called twice and was told I would get an answer on my delivery confirmation before I was told item was out of stock.

Pros: Cheap furniture - at a different cost though

Cons: Items not in stock, long delays, bad customer service, etc.

Pottery barn like furniture! They have very reasonable prices for the quality they have. !! Sofas are customisable into sectionals at a very reasonable cost.

I bought about 50% of my house furniture from this place, and I couldn't be happier. The selection is extensive, the people are very sweet, and you can save some cash over some of the other establishments in the easy bay/berkeley area. Highly worth a visit.

Ordered two benches and two chairs. 7 weeks later, finally received 4 chairs and 1 bench. They would not take the extra chairs back, and took 3.5 more weeks to deliver the second bench. This bench arrived with the back split in two. I didn't want to wait who knows how many more weeks for them to deliver a replacement so I asked for a refund. They said I'd have to pay $100 to ship it back to them in order to get a refund--even though it arrived LATE and BROKEN.

Their Selection of sofas is great . Huge variety to choose from. I particularly liked their leather sofas and custom sectionals. Delievry was a really nominal fee.

The one star goes to Dan, who was always very helpful and positive.

I have given Select Furniture Outlet several chances to deliver a missing part. I have worked in customer Service for many years, so I have a natural tendency to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, after receiving the wrong part three times and refusing to give me a refund, enough is enough. I will be filing a complaint with the BBBureau.

I warn you not to do business with Select Furniture Outlet. They have two stores, One in Berkeley on University Ave. and one on Bryant St. in SF

I seldom write online reviews, but i was quiet impressed with this store so i couldnt help writing one. :)
I just moved in the bay area.When i started shopping for furniture, everything i liked was so expensive at crate and barrel and pottery type stores.
I bumped into select furniture outlet by chance , and wow, i found contemporary and classy furniture that i exactly wanted at half the price; of what i was prepared to pay for at those big retail stores. The quality of the furniture was was quiet good , mostly all wood and not the cheap particle board that i always like to keep away from. Many of the designs were exact copies of pottery barn . The staff was warm and freindly.

I would although say that the delivery guys arrived about 25 minutes late than what what they had committed to, but i could deal with that.
Overall i would say that this place was a treasure hunt for me, considering that i saved thousands of dollars and ended up having my home become a haven. :)
