Very Good

by marty c. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,056

I like this place for dinner. I like to order their specialty dishes - The dipping sauces complement the flavor of the dishes. You wont be disappointed with any thing you try.

Impressive food and draws attention.

by Erick G. | insider Insider | Rank: 20,097

So the name sounds funny, but the food is very, very good. Their portions could be a little bigger, but every bite has taste. I'm not a fan of sushi, but this place can do it with mix of Chinese and Japanese flavors. I recommend their Sashimi Salad, Pad Thai and Chicken flavored dishes. I also recommend you order an appetizer because you won't fill up on their salads. Remember, in Asia, they don't eat salads. Maybe they do now. Get their before dinner time, otherwise you won't have enough to buy a beverage to go with your dish.

Overpriced Sushi

by Amanda P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,311

This place has good food, but it's a bit overpriced. I think your paying for the atmosphere, which is great. The other good thing is that the are open late. I think until 4am on weekends and 2am on weekdays.

Nice Decor. but Expensive

by vallinmeg

If you like Asian food, then this is the place for you. You can choose from Chinese, Thai, Japanese and possibly Korean. I think this place is a great place to bring a date if you don't mind the higher price. You're paying more for the decor/ambience here. Nice lighting, somewhat romantic. If you want cheaper price Japanese sushi, Kabuki is just down the street which is more affordable but without the romantic decor/ambience. One of my favorite at Wokcano is their chocolate dipped fortune cookie that you get at the end of your meal.

Pros: Nice Decor, good food

Cons: Expensive

Bring your own hot sauce.

by JWinny

I can't complain too much about this place. The sushi was really good, the atmophere was romantic, and it wasn't too busy for a friday night. However, be aware that the spicy sushi platter seems to be exactly the same as the regular sushi platter only with little dots of hot sauce on top. I felt a little cheated since the spicy platter was $2 more, and I could buy my own bottle of hot sauce for that. :)

Pros: Good food.

Cons: Parking is tricky. There is a lot behind Gordon Biersch, but it fills up quickly on the weekends.

Beautiful decoration, good service, bad food!!

by navelmaxime

Living in Burbank Village Walk since a year I haven't try Wockano before and finally went there last week. The stuff was really friendly and polite (nice hostess and friendly server), the decoration is beautiful ( specially the candle at night create a nice atmosphere) but i have been very disappointed with the food. We had a soup who was good, then some sushi (the simple one with a piece of fish and rice) who did not taste really fresh, some combination of rice (really salty), and for desert two chocolate cake (just like the one you can find at costco with a lot of chemical), we drunk two apple martini who tasted more like pure honey and finally got the check= 160 dollars for two, we will not go back for sure!!

Pros: nice and friendly hostess and service.

Cons: homemade food would be great, jut taste like chemical

Great ambience!!

by geminigirli

I went to Wokcano in Burbank with my friend from the area who had raved about the atmosphere. I see what she meant...it's beautiful inside and I loved the sleek decor, very modern. Service was ok, great at the bar for my pre-meal cocktail...I forgot the bartender's name but she makes a really mean lychee martini. I would say it's pricey for an everyday lunch, but totally reasonable for dinner. I vouch for the Party Roll...forgot what's in it, but it was yummy.

Pros: Beautiful decor, food, drinks, open late

Cons: Service at our table was just ok.

bar area is best

by thedoublem

Food is pretty good. Far better than a place like PF Changs...interesting drink specials that work great with the Asian theme. I had a ginger vodka martini that was a good complement to my food.

Pros: Asian cocktails with food

Cons: Lettuce Wraps

HORRIBLE BARTENDER

by ls1970

I only gave this place 1 star, for decor. I suppose it could have potential if they restaffed (especially the mgmt). My husband and I came here last week for the first time, after hearing mixed opinions from friends. We went to the bar for dinner and drinks. WORST BARTENDER EVER. Our $10 martinis were filled halfway. I swear. Uninterested, with zero personality, she was also just downright rude, without provocation. (I waited tables when I was younger, so I try to remember my manners when dining out). This girl was more interested in drinking shots (by herself!?), and admiring her own tatoos, then attending to her guests. No, it was not busy. Our soup and edamame were cold, our sushi was fine, but we had to ask her where it was before she begrudgingly brought it to us. We couldnt believe our friend actually recommended we sit at the bar. He MUST have had a different bartender. I asked for a manager, and found out SHE WAS THE BAR MANAGER!!! Wow. Maybe had we sat in the dining room, we would have had a different experience, but with so many better options throughout the valley, we simply will not be back.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Service, service, service.

Best sushi I've been to in the states

by chipsahou

I'm quite the big sushi fan, and this place had me dazzled with the remarkable tastes and artistic work. The fish was fresh, and the number of unique rolls were enough to warrant me coming back many times. Of course I was with someone who had been there before, and she had done most of the ordering (therefore assuming she ordered the good stuff). I didn't try much else besides the sushi since sushi is my favorite food, so I can't guarantee the other foods. However, if you enjoy excellent sushi, Wokcano is definitely the place to go!!

Pros: Ambience, service, and food largely contributed to a fantastic night.

Cons: Kind of dark, but then if not it would negate the ambience of the restaurant.

Best Sushi EVER!!!

by machi1412

Wokcano was fabulous!! The interior was beautiful: creating an inviting atmosphere. Service was great and the sushi was fresh. And even if you don't like sushi, it's a fusion restaurant that also offers great Chinese food. Not to mention, it has a huge lounge area with a full bar!! :D I had a great time and would definitely go back again. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Pros: Ambience, food, and great service

Very good service!

by coralinn

This was one of the few places open on July 4th. I wasn't expecting anything too great seeing how it was an asian restaurant in the middle of Burbank. I was VERY surprised! I tried the crispy orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and fried rice. All were very delicious and just as good as the food at an authentic chinese restaurant. Our hostess was very courteous. Our waitress was just okay but the bus boy guys were very attentive - constantly refilling water and packing up our to go boxes and cleaning our table swiftly. The only downer is that there are no lunch specials so it's kinda pricey for lunch. I think we paid $40+.

Pros: food, good service

Cons: no lunch specials, over priced

Another new restaurant in Burbank

by museinpink

It's amazing how many new places are popping up in Burbank, especially with the new "no-Smoking ordinance" in place. We went to Wokcano for lunch. The food was good, but not memorable, the service was horrible (the waitress was nice enough, but the way she moved was indicative of a person who just woke up or sleepwalking). We went at lunchtime so skipped the cocktails and opted for beer instead. Their beer on tap selection is standard. Another restaurant, among many in Burbank, would I go back? Mmm only if I were invited there for a special occasion.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Parking, Service
