American Medical Aesthetics

Ok, so I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but I must do so this time. I've had acne scarring for over a decade now. I have gone to the best plastic surgeons and dermatologists in LA and San Diego. None of them made me feel comfortable the way Asher and Dr. Pien did at AMA. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. Asher explained everything to me in detail and he was patient with me. I did not feel like I was being rushed into anything. I truly felt educated about the procedure and I had no reservations. I am an actress so my face is of the utmost importance to me. I knew he was sincere. Plus, I was paying a fraction of the cost other doctors had quoted me for the same procedure. I knew he believed in his product.

Now, to the day of the procedure. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel like a queen. Like there was no one else in the world that was as important as me! Tracy, who is the medical assistant, offered me medicine for my anxiety and the pain. I only took tylenol and also a valium for my nerves. I listened to music in a room with a water fall and I laid on a massage bed until the numbing cream kicked in. Once they were ready, Dr. Pien explained what she was going to do every step of the way. Who does that these days? All doctors are out to make money. Not her. I felt that she cared about me the way my mother would. She engaged me in conversation throughout the treatment and told me what to expect every second. I have never, ever in my entire life came across a doctor like her (and my brother is a doctor!). Never. I have a deeply seated respect for her not just as a doctor, but as a human being who genuinely wants to help others. Her knowledge and expertise in unmatched.

Once the treatment was over, I was sent to the oxygen chamber (i think that's what it's called) and I fell asleep! Tracy and Rebecca were constantly checking on me though. They were so nice and friendly. It was like have two of my girlfriends there for support. I will say the treatment was a bit uncomfortable, however, I asked her to be more aggressive in certain areas so I expected that.

All in all, I whole heartedly recommend AMA to anyone who wants first class service. I really felt like a queen walking out of there and I certainly could not have asked for a better medical staff to take care of me. I will definitely be going back for all my procedures from now on.

In terms of results, I am not sure as I just had it done on Thursday and I'm still recovering. I am confident that Dr. Pien has worked her magic though. I will keep everyone posted!

This place was recommended to me by a close friend. I was extremely skeptical, being that I needed to remove a dark birthmark that covered a quarter of my face, and I had already attempted to laser it twice in the past. I went in and immediately felt at ease, as the Dr. took 45 minutes to just sit and talk to me, explain how they work their magic (very scientific, as they are actual MD's). This place has a method unlike any other laser institute out there, using natural components of your body to work with the laser. They gave me hope and told me that despite two different laser institutes I went to, they could help me. Now, several months later, I can go to the gym without make-up and don't have to wear super heavy make-up, because my birthmark is nearly non-existent! Dr. Pien changed my life. They are SO nice there, and truly love their work. The staff is AMAZING, and they all get treatments, so they know what you are experiencing. If you have any doubts, rest assure, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Just go to a consultation, and you will know right away that you have found the answer you are looking for. I am so honored to have found American Medical Aesthetics!!!!

American Medical Aesthetics is amazing! I have been coming here for years. I've had laser hair removal done in several areas and it is the greatest thing not having to worry about shaving. It works well and did not irritate my sensitive skin at all. It is really not that painful either. I go monthly for facials with the aesthetician and she is wonderful. She is very knowledgable and always knows which products to use. I also have roscea and she knows exactly what my skin needs and which products to recommend. I also tried the CP5 series three years ago and the results were amazing. It improved my roscea tremediously and the overall skin texture and tone. My skin is much clearer and I do get compliments quite often. I have an appoinment this month for the Spectralift. I have also tried botox and it makes me look much younger. I love it! The entire team is so friendly and the environment is very relaxing. American Medical offers great services for an excellent value! I highly recommend them.

I go in for facials at least once a month and it has done a miracle on my face. Its the best facial I have received and I've shopped around. I suffer from breakouts and every time I go in for a facial they are extracted and removed. The facials I've received are exceptional and I've gotten positive results from them. I recommend American Medical Aesthetics to anyone who periodically or on a constant basis has had a breakout. Thank you.

i got pregnancy mask after having my first child...very badly...after 2 visits u couldnt tell i ever had it..now after 3 i look atleast 5 yrs younger and my fine lines have gone and so has all my pigmentation...AMA iis fantastic. i reccommend it to all my friends and family...i am a model, believe me when i say this place is very valuable to every woman who has skin issues..

I am very happy with my experiences at American Medical Aesthetics. I had the CP6 treatment and have excellent results. At the consultation before the staff took time and explained all steps of the procedures. I found all staff members to be caring and professional. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. The follow up facials are great. I recommend AMA.

This place is amazing! They offer everything! Botox, Restalyne, laser hair removal, facials and even a non-surgical FACE-LIFT! When I first went there I didnt know where to start, so I started with a basic facial, which wasn't basic at all! It was the best facial I have ever had in my life! Then I decided to get laser hair removal since I was so sick of shaving and waxing! That was the best decision I have ever made! No more shaving and no more in-grown hairs from waxing!!!!! I couldn't be happier that I found this place! The staff is great and sooo helpful booking my appointments and answering all my stupid questions. Did I mention that the place is gorgeous? Anyway, I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be taken good care of while becoming beautiful and hairless!

This Santa Monica retreat offers excellent service along with very thorough and talented esteticians. Their facials are superb and you walk out feeling simply refreshed and stress-free. Their extensive list of services include medical procedures and a unique oxygen trteatment that can rid any nasty hangover away along with leaving a lumionous look afterward. When booking your facial, request Laura as she has the magic touch!!

I have been a client of AMA for several years, even before their Santa Monica location opened. I would go see them for laser hair removal at another spa, where they would come 1 time per week. I just love the Santa Monica location because of it's tranquil and relaxing environment. It's like a spa. While you wait, you can lay on the best massage bed I've ever experienced. The aesthetician is very knowledgeable and cusomizes my facials depending on what I need that month. I've had laser hair removal -- and I keep coming back for new areas because I love it so much. The doctor tries to make it as painless as possible. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm having it done because I can read a magazine during the procedure. I've had the Spectra Lift as well, and my face is a lot smoother and more clear, and people compliment my skin often. I take care of all of my beauty needs at AMA. They even have great products to use at home. I love the DNA Cell Renewal and sunscreen. I highly recommend AMA...check it out.

The ambiance alone at American Medical Aesthetics is enough to draw one in. It is relaxing and healing. The staff at every level is wonderful. I have had many treatments done there from a CP5, the non-surgical face lift to hair removal and my all time favorite facials. I have tried many different facials and I love them all. Laura is wonderful and always recommends the newest treatments and products. My skin looks fantastic. I always get complimented on how great it looks. I highly recommend American Medial Aesthetics to all of my friends and family. They love it too!

I have been to a few laser hair removal places and by far AMA is the best! They use a laser that is more gentle on the skin, yet very effective. The staff at AMA is super friendly and accommodating when your plans change and you need to reschedule. The laser technician is very thorough and is really nice. I've been impressed overall with the high level of service I've received from AMA. I definitely recommend them for anyone needing laser hair removal!

I'm from Canada, and I was visiting the area on vacation in May 2008. Someone recommended AMA to me, so I thought I'd give it a try. My experience was fantastic. I can honestly say with the combination of the staff, environment, facilities, services and location...I would never go anywhere else again. I visit the area very frequently and will definitely return without a doubt. I have rosacea and I had very positive results after my treatment at AMA. No more bumps, and the redness is no longer noticeable. The difference is like night and day. The staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. They suggested a few products to use after my treatment in order to help with my rosacea and also had positive results with those...my skin still looks great! Makes a big difference in my life. I am very grateful for everything the staff at AMA has done for me. Thank you!

I?ve been a patient at American Medical Aesthetics for 3 years and I have had several treatments. I have used their laser hair removal services to remove all my unwanted body hair and the results have been amazing. It is liberating not to worry about shaving during these summer months. The staff members at AME are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Unlike many places, who over-book clients, my appointment time was always respected and when you have a tight schedule that?s really important. Dr. Pien and the registered nurses who do the procedures are very knowledgeable and are always willing to take the time to explain the procedure and answer any questions I?ve had. I would highly recommend AME, my experience has been very positive.

I have been going to American Medical Aesthetics for the past few years now. I went there to see if they could help me with my rosacea. And let me tell you they did!! I started seeing Laura for facials after that and she had made such a huge difference in my skin too! I will never go anywhere else again! The office is gorgeous, the people that work there are so nice and its just the best place ever!

If you want a really good facial this is the place to go. I have been going to Laura at AMA for the past year and my skin has drastically improved. No more bumps or breakouts. Both Laura and the staff at AMA are very friendly and helpful when it comes to product knowledge and skincare. I would highly recommend visiting them if you want to see a change in your skin for the better.

I had a great facial with Laura. I have had a lot of facials, but never by somebody so knowledgable. She was obviously very experienced-she quickly analyzed my dry skin, gave me an amazing mosturizing facial. She was then able to recommend products that have made an amazing difference on my face. She also gave a great neck and shoulder massage-i will be back soon!

American Medical Aestetics is awesome. I go there once a month for a facial. The Staff is always personable and provides individual one-on-one attention. Also very accomodating and flexible in scheduling needs that I have. Everything is State of the Art, and there is an emphasis on finding the next best way to service their clients. Laura's facials are incredible. She is always concerned with getting the best results for me, and is constantly changing and upgrading my facial to occomplish that. She is also very generous with her time and talents. She never hesitates to add a little extra service, like cleaning up my eyebrows etc. And a shoulder, neck, and arms massage is alway a part of the deal. Great place.

I went for my first facial at American Medical Aesthetics two weeks ago. I had the greatest experience. The staff was very friendly and professional. I had a facial and microderrmabrasion with Laura. My face looks better than it has in a long time. My skin feels really smooth. Laura is very knowlegeable and is great at customizing the facial for individual skin needs. I will be back soon!!

I started going to AMA over 2 years ago before my wedding to see if they could help me with my rosacea and after only one laser treatment and facial from Laura I saw a big difference in my skin. I felt beautiful on my wedding day!! Since then I've been going regularly and my skin is the best it's been. I get compliments on it all the time. Before I went to AMA i tried every other thing I could from dermatologists to Sonya Dakar herself. Nothing even came close to the benefits I've seen from facials and treatments at AMA. Laura is a master facialist and a pleasure to visit. She knows how to pick the right products that really work for me and help maintain my skin long after I see her. I can't say enough about this place or the people there.

I just recently moved from LA to DC, but I almost didn't make the move because it meant having to give up facials with Laura!! Over the past 2 years, Laura has given my skin a complete overhaul. With monthly facials and the new skin regime she recommended, she has utterly transformed my skin. I used to get terrible breakouts and the texture of my skin was not good (to say the least!) but now I get compliments on my skin on an almost daily basis. I cannot say enough good things about Laura - she is such a perfectionist and will not let you leave until she is 100% satisfied - it's not often you encounter anyone like that in this world! I have sent a number of friends her way since I started with her, and they are all just as obsessed as I am. I will not let anyone else touch my skin now, but the problem with that is that I live across the country! Laura will always be my first call when planning any trip back to LA. She is the absolute best.

I went to AMA to work on my hyper pigmentation and lines. After 2 Silk Peels I have seen major results. In fact I had gone to Sephora to buy some wrinkle cream and the salesperson said " Oh, you don't need that yet!" The place is clean and very relaxing. Laura my aesthetician is professional and knowledgeable. She really cares , it not just a job for her. My skin feels smooth and soft. The equipment they use is top notch. I especially like the collagen building light machine.

I have so much to say about American Medical Aesthetics I don't know where to begin! First of all from the moment you walk in there the staff makes you feel right at home and I love them all!! They get you prepped up for your laser treatments while relaxing in the most amazing massage bed EVER and afterwards you must get in the oxygen chamber and relax some more. I have found that the staff, which I love and Dr. Pien and Asher Milgrom, I also love they have made this is a retreat for both women and men to come and get beautiful.

I have a calendar called 45 and Fabulous and I would have to credit my youthfulness to AMA.... ladies RUN don't walk to American Medical Aesthetics .... Today!

I am so pleased with AMA that I fly in from out of state to recieve their superior service! I first discovered AMA while I was on vacation and was so impressed with their beautiful office and welcoming staff that I decided to get a treamtment done right there and then, and have been coming back ever since. Their staff continues to educate me and keep me informed about new procedures and they always keep me coming back for more! I have had excellent results from the laser hair removal, vein treatments and sun spot removal on my face, I wouldn't recommend anyone else but AMA! I always feel welcomed by their staff and continue to have superiour results, I would highly recommend them for any and all treatments!

American Medical Aesthetics is the answer to all my beauty prayers under one roof. They have truly stopped the clock on aging and even reversed it for me. There is so much confusion about what works and what is real but AMA is the only place I put my trust. This is not some spa with a few gadgets making false promises - this is a real, medically supervised facility with the beautiful and sweet Dr. Alice Pien at the helm. I started out seeking help with some sun damage and now see the staff regularly for broken capillaries, laser hair removal, anti aging treatments and facial firming to name a few. You would never go to a second rate brain surgeon - why would you go to a second rate laser center?

I have been to AMA several times. The professionalism, quality of service and environment is unparalleled. The medical instruments they use are state of the art; the skincare products are terrific and the staff is well trained. My favorite treatment is the medical facial. My skin has never looked better!

I grew up in a much cleaner environment than Los Angeles, in terms of the air and the water, and never had any trouble with my skin until I moved here a few years ago. Since then, it's been nothing but breakouts, general spottiness, uneven tone, discolored patches... I got intrigued by an ad I saw a while back in Image magazine and decided that a free 'consultation' at this place couldn't hurt, all I had to lose was a half hour of my time. I was extremely impressed. I'd been feeling like having any kind of procedure done on my face would just give me a different reason to feel self-conscious about my skin, which was definitely not progress. But after taking care to really tell me about how the processes work, I felt really comfortable having my acne and sun damage treated, to fantastic results. Best of all, the issues I started having almost immediately after moving to LA haven't started creeping back in. I have my face back! I got a great facial, and am looking forward to learning more about some other kinds of medicine they offer, like oxygen treatments. I was most impressed by the personal care I received (they remembered me, and I felt important), but a close second was the fact that they're really not a one-trick-pony pushing some miracle cure-all treatment. They really regard their various technologies as tools and took a lot of time to get to know what I wanted, as well as making sure I knew what I was getting. Can't wait to go back for my next facial :) I didn't think anyone other than my bodacious greek hairdresser back home could make me feel this hot ;)

I have the luxury of going to some of the best spas in the country with clients (so my company covers the cost) and I have to say that American Medical Aesthetics offers hands down the best facial I have ever had. Airplane travel is obviously hard on your skin and I have to say that my skin has never looked better. I highly, highly recommend their products and always find their staff to be warm, receptive and informed.

I attended a soiree in Newport Beach for the American Medical Aesthetics for the sole reason of educating myself because I was very curious how laser technology can holistically rejuvenate and treat your skin. A friend of mine who is getting her skin treated there was absolutely satisfied with her results (program for acne scars) and mentioned to me this presentation they offer to those interested so I jumped on the opportunity, the wine and cheese soiree was a good incentive to go as well. The man who conducted the presentation, Asher Milgram, was very thorough, detailed, and informative as to how the laser treatments can enhance your appearance and make it healthier at the same time. The beautiful ladies, nurses and staff, were very courteous and professional when going over the paperwork. Before this soiree and free trial, I had no idea how this advanced technology could be used to my benefit, but without a doubt American Medical Aesthetics is an outstanding company that provides many amazing services. If you are looking for any kind of skin treatment, CHECK THESE GUYS OUT AND ANYONE ELSE AND COMPARE THEIR PRICES, THE VALUE, SERVICE, AND STFF ARE SECOND TO NONE!

I originally came because I was interested in doing laser hair removal and something to even out my skin (take care of some acne breakouts). The minute I stepped in I just loved the space, and the people were so warm and friendly. Definitely didn't have the stiff, sterile atmosphere of most doctor's offices. I had a consultation with the doctor (who was really knowledgeable, thorough and sweet) and decided that I definitely was going to get laser hair removal done. Was so sick of paying to get waxed every month. She suggested I also consult with Laura, the aesthetician there. Laura was so genuine, kind, helpful, and understanding. I scheduled a facial with her for the next available, and it was amazing. By far the best facial I've ever had! Since then I am getting more and more hairless (which I love) and my skin has improved significantly since I've been regularly seeing Laura. I recommended her to all my friends (who now are addicted to her facials as well). Anyone with any skin issues, or just wants to improve their skin and look healthier and younger, should definitely visit this superb facility.

American Medical Aesthetics is the best laser results I have ever experienced. I had very sun damaged, blotchy, broken capillary skin. I have tried photo-facials, IPL, Genisis and micro-dermabrasion and only CP5 evened out my skin tone, reduced my pore size, removed all the broken capillaries, sun spots and over-all improved my skin greatly. I am 52 years old and look much younger due to Dr. Pein @ AMA. All the staff is exceptional, caring, informative and the facials are also the best I have ever had. I have sent my friends there and they are equally pleased. I cannot recommend AMA enough. It is the best my skin has looked in many years.

A good friend of mine referred me to this medical practice. I had been considering doing something to improve my skin. I'm in my late 20s and starting to see some of the effects of all those years in the sun (sun spots, pigmentation, discoloration). In addition, I have suffered for years with cystic acne and as a result had some pitted scarring. I finally decided to bite the bullet and make an appt. The space was beautiful, everyone was so friendly, and the consultation was very thorough and informative (and free!). I subsequently had several laser treatments and have had fantastic results. I've never had skin that I felt confident going out without makeup on, and now I do. I had very enlarged pores which made me self-conscious. My skin is smoother, my scarring has greatly reduced, and my overall tone and color of my skin is much improved and more youthful. I am so happy I took her advice and came here for treatment. They are wonderful!

Don't get me wrong, they're friendly and the facility is top notch, but I was disappointed with the results of my laser treatments. I got 2 laser treatments about half a year ago to clear up discoloration and acne, (I believe it was called the CP-5 treatment) but unfortunately, it didn't do anything for me. I'm a student so I don't have a lot of money and I paid it out of my own pocket (more than $1000) so I would just recommend that you double check before you cash out for the laser treatments. I'm sure it works for some, but it didn't work for me.

There is also a lazer treatment designed for hair removal on darker complected skin. Yes.... it is available now to African Americans with dark facial hairs. No blemishes! I know it works well because I am African American and my facial hairs will soon never grow again! Now I love the sun!

I have been a patient of American Medical Aesthetics for 5 years and have watched them grow into the magnificent wellnes and beauty institute they are now. This company and the owners, Dr. Alice Pien and Dr. Asher Milgrom, are about more than just making people look good on the outside. Thier ultimate desire is to create a place that allows us to transcend beyond just the physical aspects of ourselves and incorprate our mind and spirit as well. It's a place of peace and tranquility, where a patient comes in and no matter what they are there for, they can relax and feel taken care of. All of the staff are experts in their field and medically qualified, yet they are also true healers using their hearts as guides in healing patients. They recognize a patient's imbalance and pay special attention as to how to restore that balance whether it be through conversation, laying on their extraordinary massage tables, adjusting a current regime, or just a simple hug. Laura Gaston in particular is an amazing healer, the most extraordinary aesthetician. My skin has never looked more alive and beautiful. She really knows what works for people's skin and I trust her completely. They also take great care in selecting above par natural products that have incredible healing properties, which for me working as a consultant in the integrative medicine field is very important. They are always keeping their finger on the pulse of what kinds of medical therapies, treatments and products they can offer their patients, but they also take it a step beyond by offering workshops/sessions with practitoners that work on healing our inner issues so that we can equally cultivate healing and beauty on the inside, truly creating a state of authentic well being. I love American Medical Aesthetics and will never go anywhere else. They are like family to me and I am so thankful that they are here, bringing healing to those that choose to recieve it.

I am amazed even now, a few months later, with the results from my laser facials. I was surprised at the level of education I received (they filled me in on everything) and one of the things they said was that my skin would improve over time. It has! The hair removal procedures are great, AMA is very thorough. I have sent many friends here as well who are all very happy. I really value the relationship with the staff and professionals here, whom I trust and who are continually and genuinely concerned with my overall well-being.

American Medical has such a beautiful clinic in Santa Monica. I always go on Saturdays because thats when the sweetest and most gentle laser specialist works there. Her name is Mimi and she will take care of all your unwanted hair, spots and other stuff. Did I mention that she is also very thorough and knowledgable about everything?

I've had terrible acne and scarring for 25 years. I've tried just about everything to get rid of it. Nothing worked and I hated my terrible skin. AMA's amazing Photo Dynamic Therapy, with ALA and combined with 3 lasers has cleared up my face and healed my scarring. While not baby smooth yet, its the best I have looked in decades. I feel great and I am very greatful.

A friend took me to a laser soiree and that night I signed up for bikini and underarm laser hair removal. Then after talking to the highly educated staff there about spider veins I wanted to get rid of (which appeared after I gained 70 pounds from my pregnancy) I signed up for lasering them as well. I love not having to shave and showing off my vein free legs!!!

I had been considering laser hair removal for a long time, but was skeptical of the results. After consulting w/ the doctor and speaking with the rest of the staff, I was excited to go back for treatment! They were so welcoming, informative, kind. I returned for my series of laser hair removal, and am now so hairless, even my boyfriend commented on it! I look and feel amazing, and would recommend them to anyone.

I went in to have some Acne removed with PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY WITH ALA, a procedure I could only find at American Medical Aesthetics. Now my face is clear again and I can go back to having a normal happy life without being cocerned about my appearance. They also had the most impressive facilities! It should be in Architectural Digest! I was able to wait in the massage room and get free massages before my appointment. I've never heard of that anywhere else, have you?
