I attended this campus for 3 years and found it very. I trasnfered to cal state Long Beach after and only then did I realize how good the classes at El Camino College were. The professors are very educated and are not the random part times teachers. The campus looks nice and it also offers distance education thorugh your online computer. I would definfitly recommend this college.

Great JC

by Washington I. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,347

Back in my High School years at Redondo I came to elco every summer or so to take classes just for the sake of taking classes, and the professors were great! Now, at UCLA, i really am thankful i did. A majority of my courses involved social sciences, and i can tell you first hand that the professors are well experienced in the field with a passion to teach.

Although the campus is a bit 'ghetto' as others have said, its easy to get past. The demographics are a bit suburban and a major annoyance is the air: everybody smokes!

Great school

by Elizabeth L. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,590

I have known many people who have gone to this school and love it. It is a great helping hand into the world of college. The staff is very helpful and do the best they can to get you through and on to whatever it is that you want to do. The career center is wonderful and has a lot of materials that are useful. Plus, if you are a resident, the price of classes is super cheap and well worth it.

El Camino College

by M. S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,832

I took several classes at the El Camino Community College a few years ago and I really like the campus. They have a large student parking lot for a fee and I have never had any problems finding a space there to park my car. They offer a large selection of classes as well as weekend and night classes. The teachers that I've had have all been good instructors.

Excellent Community College

by Sue O. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,111

ECC has one of the best undergraduate study program in the South Bay. The classes are offered both in the morning and at night and there's everything from Bio Chem to Portrait Photography classes offered. The school is laid back and the classes are varied and fun. Excellent place to begin your education or to finish with your AA and the teachers are all very helpful and professional.

PROS: Varied Classes, Great Location
CONS: Crowded

El Camino is a great undergrad college in the middle of Torrance. The educators are mostly sincere and thoughtful. Nice transfer program with counselors and college fairs to learn more info about whats out there. Inexpensive classes make it available for almost anyone wanting to expand their horizons.

PROS: great location, inexpensive classes, thoughtful staff
CONS: getting a bit ghetto
