Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Our 5 month old was not fed for a whole day while she was being "taken care of" there. Supposedly there was a confusion with the time that she came in that morning, but even though we spoke with the Director during lunchtime, she still was not fed until I picked her up that afternoon. Of course after seeing that my poor baby had not been fed during the whole day I went off on the director and told her that we were done with the place.

Instead of investigating their problems and fixing them, the Director called Child Services on us. Oh yes she did! According to her our child was not being fed properly. Nevermind that she's on the 94% percentile for her height and has always been around 60% for her weight.

After the investigation was ruled out because of course we love our kids very much and would not do anything to harm them, we filed a complaint with CPS, come to find out they have had several complaints over the years. We have tried to talk to the owners, which clearly DO NOT CARE. We called the KRK Headquarters, another waste of time...

The director is the most incompent useless person I know, and at this point we are considering our options to proceed with legal action, but for now I want to make sure that as many parents as possible know what goes on in this place, and for their kids safety keep them away from this place.

If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will gladly share with you my bad experiences as well as the good ones. We have found other excellent daycares in Cinco Ranch that actually care about the kids and go the extra mile.

To the parent that posted "Awful, awful, awful":

Walk in someone else's shoes...then make your opinions.

It sounds from your posting that you are not a degreed teacher, nor are you a parent that had a child in Kids R Kids' program. I would doubt if you are really a parent at all!

I worked as a preschool teacher in an accedited preschool (while getting my degree in education). Since then I have worked at elementary schools as a paraprofessional and as a classroom teacher. When I was pregnant with my baby 4 years ago I had the time, money, and energy to research, tour, and interview multiple daycare centers (home and schools). Kids-R-Kids came out on top. Here is a list of some of the reasons my child has been learning at and continues to learn at Kids-R-Kids for over 3 years.
1. Ms. Ginger (the director) and Ms. Ruiz (the owner) have both given me tours and have answered all of my questions.
2. When I saw Ms. Ruiz at the store she hugged my child (and me) and looked genuine.
3. Ms. Ginger and Ms. Ruiz have both given me their cell numbers - in case I have questions after hours.
4. Ms. Sue, the curriculum specialist, has high teaching standards and treats her teachers as professionals. She also chooses to have her school work towards multiple accredidations.
5. The teachers hug my child and smile at my child.
6. The teachers go out of their way to tell me specific stories about my child.
7. When I asked to volunteer, the teachers invited me into the classroom.
8. Kids-R-Kids value parent opinions and send out surveys.
9. Kids-R-Kids has formulated a parent committee and wants parents to give their input.
10. Kids-R-Kids cooks a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast for their students and their family!

We will be hard pressed to find a preschool that is perfect. Kids get cranky, teachers get tired, and parents are busy trying to get everything done. However, Kids-R-Kids has an owner, director, and curriculum specialist that are all willing to listen and problem solve.

Please do the responsible thing and research your options (and have empathy) for others before blasting Kids-R-Kids for being human.

The Katy Kids R Kids is one of the best daycares I've seen, and I've seen a lot. I've raised three children to adulthood, and I now have another child, a 3-year-old who attends this fine school. Ms. Ginger and Ms. Sue truly go out of their way to ensure the kids are cared for. And the teachers go above and beyond to mind as well as instruct the children. My child comes home each day knowing more than he did that morning and is excited to return. Highly recommended.

Mrs. Ginger, Mrs, Sue, and the staff at the Cinco Ranch Kids-r-Kids are all awesome! When we moved to Katy/Cinco Ranch from a different state, I was very selective and truly did my homework when it came to placing my 12 month old child in a daycare. We ultimately decided on the Kids-r-Kids on Cinco Ranch Blvd. Our daughter was enrolled there for 3 years and it has been the best experience for her and for us as parents. Unfortunately, we have been hard hit with the economic down turn and have had to make some sacrifices, one of which was to pull our child out of KrK. Since then, she asks daily when she can go back 'school'. She misses her friends and most of all her teachers. I feel that the curriculum that she was exposed to by her competent teachers has helped prepare her for entering kindergarten this year. I wish we were financially able to keep her enrolled.

So keep on doing what you all are doing @ KrK - Cinco Ranch. Some ex-employee may not have had the best experience there. However, in the grand scheme of things you are doing a great job with the children and the learning experiences and happy memories they are making there is all that really matters.

This was my two weeks notice as an employee, sure maybe managment is troublesome sometimes, but you will find that in every daycare.....

To whom it may concern
I would like to take this time to thank you for allowing me to work here. Children are such a blessing to me and as I??m in school learning more about child development I find my job easier and more fulfilling. I remember when I came in to apply in June, Mrs. Ginger put me back in my old room suite 250, I was having a blast but when asked to do full time we both soon realized I was really only looking for part time and summer only. I then was put in the gym, where I took on a new task with older children. I always give 100 percent into my work and I did see it help across the board. At this point I was wrapped in by the adorable children and how great it felt knowing I was helping I continued to stay even though summer had ended. On Monday as most of us know I hit a dump truck and now Mrs. Ginger refers to me as a ??Tonka Toy?, which helps ease the pain of how much my car will cost me. I signed up for more hours helping me bring in more money and putting a smile on everyone??s face at the day care. I was excited this morning and I could see the joy in the children as well. The bus run ran smoothly and I hope all of those children had a great day! As I clocked out and went home for a scheduled nap before my college class at 11 my boss from my other job at the retirement home offered me an opportunity I cannot walk away from.
I truly am very sorry to announce that I will be taking the position of HR assistant and leaving the daycare and my new position that you so kindly had available for me at a time of need. I have enjoyed every part of my work experience with such kind people and such loving children. This was not an easy decision and may look selfish, but please try to understand I have to do what is best for me. With hopes and dreams of becoming a kindergarten teacher and later owning my own day care learning the HR side to any business will be beneficial for me to learn. Don??t think for one second that I do not appreciate every lesson I learned here because I do. I any situation, Mrs. Ginger and Mrs. Sue have always had open ears for my day to day struggles and always came through with great advice. Without you two I would not be where I am today. You both understood that school came first but you both also understood that school didn??t always come first in my eyes. I had a successful semester and I am currently feeling quite good about my classes now. I have the upmost gratidude for the work you do and as always I hope to one day return if my time is available, so yes Mrs. Ginger, please save my files!

AWESOME! This preschool/daycare is wonderful! They truly care about each and every child. I am not sure how they can provide such personalized attention to the children. It is truly amazing. We have both of our children there, one in the Summer program with absolutely incredible field trips and one in the 3 year old room. This facility is top notch!

The curriculum is great. My son went all the way from PreK and finished Kindergarten. He is doing extremely well is the Elementary School due to the strong foundation from his earlier education at Kids R Kids.

GREAT SCHOOL!
My son started when he was 3years old. He learned a lot at the facility. Teachers were always on task. There were many projects and activities he was doing all day. I did monitor his class several time personally and from Video Camera access. He moved up to Kindergarten class. I was amazed to see 2 certified teachers for just 16 children in the Kindergarten room. I just found out that the facility is very highly rated by consumers and have won on of the highest awards.

Pros: Thumbs up

My children have been enrolled at this school for nearly two years. I have been very pleased. When occasions have risen that I was concerned about, I have always found the teachers to be very responsive, and the same with the director. I would have no problem recommending this school to a friend or family member.

As a mother of six, I've tried many, many daycares over the past 17 years. Kids R Kids at Cinco Ranch is by far one of the absolute best! My son (age 3) loves going to school because there are so many activities such as: Spanish, Sign Language, computers, gymnastics & his personal favorite...the water park. I love it because there are small classes and each child receives individual attention from the teachers. Additionally, his face is always clean, the facility is very clean, and he has not been sick one day during the past year!!! As for the cost, it is a bit more expensive but I have found that it is well worth it.

Our child went one week and I so bothered by the lack of interaction, fact he always had a full diaper and was always crying and dirty when I picked him up that we pulled him out immediately. Yes, its new and in a great area. But compared to other daycares I felt like this was simply a babysitting service and nothing more. Watching on the web was horrible because I only saw one teacher on the floor playing with the kids once in an entire week... and that was as long as I could handle it. If you pay that much you would figure they would get off the rocking chairs and get on the floor and play with the kids every so often. We have since moved him to another school where on my random visit I found all the teachers having fun with the kids on the floor, with paint on his clothes, and a big smile on his face. So at the end of the day, if you are looking for simply a babysitting service, there is nothing wrong here. If you require fun and interaction with the kids, look elsewhere. (Sidenote: I did however hear great things about the location off Barker Cypress..)

My granddaughter has been attending Kids R Kids # 34 on Cinco Ranch Blvd. for a year now, and she absolutely loves it. She loves her teachers and the staff at the school. She will be attending kindergarten next year, and I hope she is able to attend the private kindergarten class that is offered at Kids R Kids. Mrs. Clemons, the kindergarten teacher, is a Texas Certified teacher and has over twenty seven years of experience. I know my granddaughter has learned a great deal in the last year because she is only four and knows how to count from 1-50, knows all of her colors, can write all of the letters of the alphabet, knows all of the single phonetic sounds and writes her name. I am proud of my granddaughter and it gives me comfort knowing that she loves Kids R Kids so much that she doesn't want to leave to go home in the evening. She definitely feels secure and safe at Kids R Kids # 34.
