Coming to Orlando for a meeting. Planner recommended Mears. So, at the airport, we went down to the transportation area. There was only one shuttle service. The employee pointed inside to pay the fee. We paid and went outside. We were told that the pager would vibrate. Went inside to eat. Didn't receive page. Came down and were told that they had already called for our bus.They now pointed out it didn't work ""upstairs"". Could have mentioned that. They got us another bus a few minutes later. But, the attendant and driver acted like they did us a favor. I would not recommend this service, but alas, they are the only shuttle at the airport.

I was in Orlando for 1 day 1/26/12. After having dinner at the Florida Mall the resturant called Yellow Taxi to take us back to our hotel. After waiting 30 minutes an employee called back and was told 5 minutes. After another 15 minutes I personally called and was told by someone who said they were in dispatch that cab 373 would be there in 8 minutes. We waited still, talking to more employees who were stunned we were still there. So another 10 minutes go by and I call again. I was told by a different operator after sitting on hold for 5-6 minutes that cab 373 would be there in 7 minutes. This is complete crap. It is 11:30 at night and waiting over an hour for a cab on a Thursday night is ridiculous. I work in the taxi industry in Chicago and those drivers fight for a fare on a slow night.\r\n\r\nFor a company who is a large fleet in Orlando, they really do not do a good job. During our hour wait we saw several Yellow Taxi's passing by on the near highway and roads. When I asked the dispatcher what was going on a thrid time, I was told cab 373 was not responding to the callout. Well my guess this unreliable driver must have been sleeping or not worried about making any money.\r\n\r\nI send great thanks to the mall security guard who gave us a ride to a near by bar where to my surprise called Big Apple Taxi. That driver came to pick us up with in 10 minutes of the bartender calling for us.\r\n\r\nTo sum it up - Never trust a company who calls themselfs YELLOW and paint the car ORANGE. Orange for Orlando Yellow must mean CAUTION we don't care.

Enjoyed a night out at Disney's Boardwalk the night before Halloween with a friend and we decided to take a taxi back to our Disney resort rather than take Disney transportation because it was late and we were tired. The bellhop called for a taxi and we got in no problem. When we arrived at our resort, I asked the driver if I could pay by credit card and he acted a bit huffy about it but took my card. After a few minutes of him trying my card, he told me it was declined, which was strange being that I had been using it all night. We insisted he take my friend's card instead which he refused but we kept insisting. After a few minutes of trying her card, he said her's was declined as well and told us to go inside to use the ATM. We tipped him a few extra dollars, feeling bad that he had to wait during this whole ordeal. Fast forward 2 weeks when I discover my credit card statement and I was charged for the fare. After being given the run-around calling Mears, finally I recieved a call back from a nice employee saying they would credit my card back.\n\nI don't know if it was an honest mistake from the driver or if he was 2 girls in their 20s getting into his cab and thought he could get one over on us. Just beware when using your card with Mears and check your statements! I'm only rating 2 stars because of the wonderful women who was willing to credit my card back.

Never contact him and when we tried to call, a friendly message answered saying that they are busy taking reservations and nobody can answer the call. NOBODY SHOWED!!! After 10:30pm, I called them again and said ""Nobody has picked up on the call yet"". ***No taxi ever showed up, forcing me to make a change in my own travel plans costing me $$$. \n\nNote: This is the same company as ""Mears""... don't be fooled by the different phone numbers. The representative made NO APOLOGY and specifically stated that they ""Make NO Guarantees"" that they will be able to pick you up. I had to hang up while the woman kept yelling at me on the phone.

On the eighth day of October 2010, I made a bad decision for my family.\n\nI was on vacation with my children and wife in Orlando, Florida, and had just finished our last day adventuring around Universal Studios, when I decided to take a Yellow Cab Company taxi, instead of our usual taxi service, Gold Company (Ahmed, Mohammed, and the rest of the polite, conversational, professional and punctual family that I highly reccomend if you choose to vacation in Orlando).\n\nWhen we finished our laborious day walking miles around at the amusement park, we went to the taxi counter at the foot of the escalators at Universal, and were directed towards a Yellow Cab car. The worst mistake of my life.\n\nUpon entering the vehicle, the driver, whose name we were not given, looked at us very strangely. He was brusque and impolite, treating my family without respect. However, we decided to just take the car across the street to our room at Hyatt Place Universal. \n\nThe driver was obviously upset that he had wasted his time driving merely across the street, about two miles, but that was a lot, when our family had been walking for hours. He ordered us to fasten our seatbelts while driving at an outrageous speed, making turns carelessly and recklessly, putting my family in danger. He nearly sped past a red light, at which point, I ordered my family to vacate the car at the intersection. A deranged man. We walked the rest of the way to the hotel.\n\nAfter we arrived at our hotel, quite a bit shaken, particularly my kids, to no surprise, there was my friend, Mohammed, of the Gold Cab Car Company. I will never trust my family in the hands of a Yellow Cab Company driver again. The company did little to reassure me that this would never happen to anyone else.

Round trip from the airport to sea world cost 29 dollars. The service is extremely slow. I had to wait for more than 30 minutes outside the terminals. If you want to save money, check out the city bus. It only costs 2 dollars one-way. It porbably provides more reliable service than mears. Otherwise, take the taxi!

Mears seems to have a monopoly on airport property and Disney property for transportation in Orlando. That has bred Unbelievable inefficiency in customer service. At the airport The only company that you can go to a booth is Mears, If you want bus, taxi, and/or luxury transportation. WOW! The City of Orlando and the Orlando International airport really need to get out of bed with Mears. The worst service ever all the bad reviews and they still hold a good rating. The travel sites need to drop them ASAP. I flew in with my family 4 in total, we were tired from a 7 hour flight and just wanted to get to the hotel. I had went to a booth at the airport and asked for transportation for us. I was interrupting the female Mears employee. I think she was hoping I would walk away. I asked whats the quickest, and easiest way to our hotel on Disney property. She tells me that I missed the bus the next one was in 1 hour. I should take a taxi or a town car. She told me to go out the door and ask the taxi starter. The starter a male also in a fowl mood he told me 4 people to Disney about $65 $70 OK I said he the assigned us a (Orange and White)Yellow Cab Company taxi. We were now 1 hour after we picked up our bags long day just got longer. I asked the driver if the estimate of $ 65-$70 was good he said yes. When we left the driver started pressing a extras button on the meter. Adding up .25 cents at a time until it was at $5.00 I ask what was that he explained that the Airport fee that Mears charges for the taxi driver to work at the airport and that and tolls was my reasonability .it took us 1 hour to the hotel. The meter was at $ 83.55 plus adding $7.50 with the extras. $ 91.05 total I said that the price quote was $ 65- $70 he said yeah thats what we tell everybody but its always more. I said that is horrible business practice, He tells us that Mears runs the City the Airport and even Disney they do all the transportation and they are the largest company in Central Florida. They set all prices WOW! the hotel attendant removed the bags from the taxi I paid the driver $ 95.00 He had the Ball's to say tips are 20% I told him that I gave him $25 more then the quote. NEVER USE MEARS any division. We never used Mears the rest of our trip we found a great driver and company while at Epcot Center. Angelo with Excellence Transportation Group 407-408-7648 Great driver professional and we were driven around in a Black Lincoln Town Car with all the permits on the windshield.@ Great prices. We had Angelo take us everywhere and to the airport he gave me a quote price of $60 We need to be picked up at the hotel at 5:15 am(Angelo was there with a smile) Get this the airport trip was only $60 no toll fee no airport fee Total $60 what a proper business. At the curbside check in and Angelo takes all our bags and gets us a skycap to take us right in (NOW THATS SERVICE) Mears needs to learn from this guy and company. I paid him$100 because he was worth much more I hope all who read this review will use Angelo and Excellence Transportation Group. I send all my colleagues. friends and family that went to Orlando to only use Angelo and EXCELLENCE TRANSPORTATION GROUP. They all were impressed as we were THANK YOU MEARS TRANSPORTATION GROUP FOR BEING SUCH A HORRIBLE COMPANY!WE FOUND ANGELO

The travel sites need to drop them ASAP. I flew in with my family 4 in total, we were tired from a 7 hour flight and just wanted to get to the hotel. I had went to a booth at the airport and asked for transportation for us. I was interrupting the female Mears employee. I think she was hoping I would walk away. I asked whats the quickest, and easiest way to our hotel on Disney property. She tells me that I missed the bus the next one was in 1 hour. I should take a taxi or a town car. She told me to go out the door and ask the taxi starter. The starter a male also in a fowl mood he told me 4 people to Disney about $65 $70 OK I said he the assigned us a (Orange and White)Yellow Cab Company taxi. We were now 1 hour after we picked up our bags long day just got longer. I asked the driver if the estimate of $ 65-$70 was good he said yes. When we left the driver started pressing a extras button on the meter. Adding up .25 cents at a time until it was at $5.00 I ask what was that he explained that the Airport fee that Mears charges for the taxi driver to work at the airport and that and tolls was my reasonability .it took us 1 hour to the hotel. The meter was at $ 83.55 plus adding $7.50 with the extras. $ 91.05 total I said that the price quote was $ 65- $70 he said yeah thats what we tell everybody but its always more. I said that is horrible business practice, He tells us that Mears runs the City the Airport and even Disney they do all the transportation and they are the largest company in Central Florida. They set all prices WOW! the hotel attendant removed the bags from the taxi I paid the driver $ 95.00 He had the Ball's to say tips are 20% I told him that I gave him $25 more then the quote. NEVER USE MEARS any division. We never used Mears the rest of our trip we found a great driver and company while at Epcot Center. Angelo with Excellence Transportation Group 407-408-7648 Great driver professional and we were driven around in a Black Lincoln Town Car with all the permits on the windshield.@ Great prices. We had Angelo take us everywhere and to the airport he gave me a quote price of $60 We need to be picked up at the hotel at 5:15 am(Angelo was there with a smile) Get this the airport trip was only $60 no toll fee no airport fee Total $60 what a proper business. At the curbside check in and Angelo takes all our bags and gets us a skycap to take us right in (NOW THATS SERVICE) Mears needs to learn from this guy and company. I paid him$100 because he was worth much more I hope all who read this review will use Angelo and Excellence Transportation Group. I send all my colleagues. friends and family that went to Orlando to only use Angelo and EXCELLENCE TRANSPORTATION GROUP. Mears seems to have a monopoly on airport property and Disney property for transportation in Orlando. That has bred Unbelievable inefficiency in customer service. At the airport The only company that you can go to a booth is Mears, If you want bus, taxi, and/or luxury transportation. WOW! Mears shuttle seems to have a monopoly on airport shuttle transportation at Orlando. That has bred inefficiency and rudeness into their service. At the airport I had t wait a long time before my shuttle came in. But what really surprised me is that, on my return trip - my shuttle driver asked me to load my suitcase into the van. And, when I arrived at the airport, he made it clear he expected a tip!

That was the easy part. Then they tell you- ""it will be at LEAST 40 minutes for the bus."" Bear in mind that the shuttles are slow way to travel anyway, since they stop at so many hotels. The worst part, the woman at the kiosk out here says it is always like this, and I should go get a refund and take a cab. Mears refused to accept the receipt Orbitz emailed to me. The curbside representative told me curtly to ""Go talk to her"" and pointed to the person behind their airport counter. That lady was equally disinterested, and said there was no record of my reservation. She scrawled a number on a scrap of paper and said ""You call Orbitz and have them fax the proper paperwork to this number"" but could not explain what the ""proper"" paperwork would be. I called Orbitz and their customer service representative promised to call Mears to look into the problem. After many minutes on hold, she asked to speak to the lady behind the counter, who refused to take the phone until I very firmly insisted. \r\n\r\nThe lady behind the counter then wasted more time refusing to accept the Orbitz rep's word that the reservation was legitimate. She just kept demanding that they fax additional information. After about 45 minutes of this nonsense, I gave up, asked for a refund and said I would take a taxi for 3 times the cost and be better off. Naturally, Mears refused the refund but Orbitz will discount my next trip to make up for the hassle. \r\n\r\nMears representatives made it very clear that customers are an interruption in their otherwise relaxed day and that employees will make no effort whatsoever to solve problems. Since this is a variation on the theme of the other reviewers, this disinterest in customers is apparently the norm and not an isolated problem.\r\n\r\nI will go out of my way to avoid Mears in the future, particularly in Orlando.

Since, it was 3:00 in the morning I was obviously not thrilled to be there so early, but I was outside waiting at 3:05 for a 3:15 reservation. By 3:25, I decided to call since there was no bus. I learned that 1) I should have called the min they were late and 2) that they have the most ineffecitve customer service I have ever experienced. The lady on the other end told me a bus had picked up several other passengers and that I had ""missed"" the bus. Unless, the bus had come 20 mins early, I had not missed it. Instead of sending a bus to pick me up at the right reservation time Mears, tried to save a buck by making me wait a half an hour for the next bus after insisting that I leave three hours before my flight.
