RIGHT TIME KIDS ON DURANT WITH MY 3.5 year old son. SEEKING AN ATTORNEY AND APPROPRIATE MEASURES

I AM SO PISSED OFF ABOUT THIS !!!

The first time was two weeks ago he came home with a fat lip that no one knew about, when his father picked him up and brought him home, I noticed his lip when he walked through the door, I called there and spoke with the girl there Jessica, she said she didn't notice it and apologized, the following day he came home with a write up that another child threw a toy at his face very close to his eye. How can they not see these things, they are supposed to be watching your children.

ANOTHER KID FONDLING MY SON - The worst is the other day he was doing something inappropriate, and I said to him what are you doing and he said. KIDS NAME at right time kids played with my pickle like this, he told me where and how many times, he said the first time he grabbed him between the legs real hard and pulled his pickle and the staff put the kid in time out,(when asked the school about it, no one knows about it)

The second time he says he was on the blue carpet and the KIDS NAME was playing with his pickle on his pants, I said did you tell anyone he said no the kid left. "I hate that kid".

I went down there to tell them about this spoke with the manager Maryann. She said she spoke with the staff no one knows of anything like that happening. I was also told that they do not think my son is a good fit for their establishment. I said why is my son being excluded from your place, when we was violated by another child. Don't you have cameras to go back too and look at? Your not going to find out who this kid is and address it ???

ANY DROP OFF CENTER IS NOT REGULATED BY THE STATE, AND THEY DO NOT SCREEN THE EMPLOYEES, I FOUND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY !!! BEWARE

Will never use this place again. It is not only expensive, they are careless. I dropped my two daughters, and they ask me to pay cash for TWO 'dinners' (slice of pizza). I paid $11 ($5.50 each dinner). Then, when I picked up my

I never write reviews on anything but this has to be noted. Yesterday, I had a bundle of errands to run and Christmas shopping to get out of the way. I heard about RTK from a trusted friend, so I thought it was safe to bring my children

I reluctantly tried Right Time Kids when a good friend (whose parenting I respect) encouraged me. I was pretty skeptical and had my eye on the clock the first time I tried it. When I went to pick my kids up, they asked me to go find more

We've been taking our 2 1/2 year old son to Durant RTK since he was 18 months and we love it! It's a great part-time childcare solution for us.

He goes from about 9-1 two to three days a week and has so much fun with some of the other

In theory Right Time Kids is a wonderful idea for drop in daycare, affordably priced, and in a convenient location for my family. My husband and I decided to give it a try by using the 4 free introductory hours for my two children aged 2

Let me just say I would think twice (or more) about dropping my child off here - I can't compare it to the other drop-off locations because I am not familiar with them, but let me just say when you have two underpaid staff members, two separate rooms with children in them, and someone checking parents and kids in and out, how much attention do you really think your kids get?
As with any place, things are done on a budget - it is a business - but that also means cleanliness, staffing, and about a hundred other things suffer.
It may seem like an ideal place because of the ease of which you can drop off your children, but it is not worth it.
The staff is over worked, underpaid, and does not receive support from the owner. They are expected to watch your children, keep the place clean (at the very least), plus make sure they have a good time, while maintaining a group of children spanning a wide range of ages - you have to realize that something is going to suffer - the place is unsanitary. The children are not able to get the attention they need (especially those with special needs)...
And as for the comment about the parent leaving her child there too long - as a drop off facility, the people who work there should not have allowed it - they are not a licensed childcare facility - the max. amount of time you are supposed to be allowed to drop your child off is 4 hours, but they let children stay all day because that's what brings in the money. There is no regulating body that checks in or make sure certain standards are met - they are able to run a business with standards far below what you would want for your children in the worst of circumstances.
The bottom line of this business, as with any business, is money. And while it's a nice idea, I would never drop my children off at a place where the owner compares children to cockroaches. Don't be fooled

Pros: Able to drop children off anytime for as long as you want

Cons: Childcare, Cleanliness, Attentiveness, Attitudes

This is an awesome place for child care when you have to go to a meeting, shop or otherwise have time away from the kids. The facility is great and our kids love to go there. Sanitation is important, and staff is friendly. Cost is not low, but if you are planning to use them a lot, buy a block of time to save money. We have both our own kids and foster kids and have used this location since it opened.

I have to say my experience doesn't match the two previous reviews. I live near downtown Raleigh, last week I had a function at Wake Med on Falls of Neuse. A friend of mine who uses Right Time Kids all the time suggested taking my kids 7 and 10 there while I attended my meeting. Based on her suggestion, I did. The staff was professional and showed genuine concern for me and my children. My kids were a bit anxious about being dropped off somewhere that had never been as was I but I was offered a tour and after seeing the activities and how the staff was interacting with the kids, I was fine. After 2 hours I picked my kids up and again the staff was great. More importantly my kids had a great time. My 10 year old son hung out with the older kids in a separate room from the younger kids and my daughter wanted to stay. My only suggestion would be for a location near downtown Raleigh, it would do really well.

I do have one thing to add to one of the previous reviewers, who would leave a 2 year old anywhere for 7 hours? That's not very responsible.

Pros: No appointment needed, plenty of activities for the ages they cater to.

Cons: No location closer to downtown Raleigh

This place is wonderful for kids, between the climbing wall and the video game there something for every kid. They have a friendly and well trained staff. I don't worry when I shopping or out at dinner.

I was in a situation where my husband was on a business trip, my daughter?s day care was closed & I had to work. I brought my daughter to Right Time Kids @ 8am. My daughter is 2 years old; she is potty training & wears "pull-ups". I called to check on her around lunch time and the manager told me she was getting ready to eat lunch. I had packed her lunch in her back pack. When I came to pick her up @ 3pm (7 hours later) my daughter was soaked. They had not brought her to the potty or changed her pull up the 7 hours she was with them. Her tennis shoes were soaked with urine!! When I grabbed her bag to change her pull up, I realized her lunch was still in her bag. When I asked what she had for lunch the only thing they could come up with was "crackers"!!! Are you kidding me?! This is a 2 year old who grazes throughout the day on veggies & fruit. I can't imagine that she didn't ask for anything else to eat!! I know for a fact that my child was neglected!!! I called later that evening to talk to the manager & she was apologetic. She said I'm going to refund you by giving you 2 free hours of care.... I paid $60 that day & I told her that my child will not be coming back & I will be expecting my refund in full.

Pros: Being able to drop off with no notice

Cons: Not knowing what condition you are going to find your child when you pick them up.

My kids absolutely love this place! The staff is warm and friendly. The place is secure. They are all CPR and First Aid certified (I'm a worrier). They are also all background checked. They have a climbing wall with a tunnel and a slide, air hockey, educational computer games, video games (I know, but the kids love it and they socialize with the other kids while they play).
They are open late and on weekends, so a movie & dinner is no longer wishful thinking.
They order lunch or dinner for my kids, so I'm really getting a break all around. Totally recommend it!

Right Time Kids at Durant Road enforces a MANDATORY quiet time on ALL children - even if they did not eat lunch there and were just dropped off! They claim it is for a brief 15-30 minutes. However, when I arrived there on October 8, 2007 at 1:43pm, they told me quiet time began at 12:50pm. When I asked how much longer it would last, they replied another 30 minutes or more!!!!!! So, if the owner is to be believed that rest time is only up to 30 minutes, then when she is not there, the staff does not follow protocol. If we hired a childcare provider for our home at the same rate, they would not be permitted to have TV on and force the child to just sit there!!! Haven't they heard that the American Academy of Pediatrics reports that TV is stimulating, not relaxing??!!! The owner, Lori, believes offering the children other quiet activities such as coloring, puzzles, arts'n crafts and other let's-have-the-kids-be-convenient for us attitude is good enough. NOT!!! We are paying THEM for service, not the other way around. How could anyone drop off their child for a hour or two at quiet time and say look at all the fun, cool toys here, and you cannot play with the best ones!!!! Isn't that what we are paying for???
