Do not, under any circumstances, move with this company. I will outline the areas where they failed.
1. Several of my items were lost during transport. They eventually tracked them down in a warehouse and had another carrier bring them to me when they happened to be headed in my direction. It took five weeks to recover the items and several calls to customer service. In the meantime, I had to sleep and eat on the floor of my new apartment because I had no table legs or slats for my bed.
2. Several items were damaged or destroyed during transport. Every item of furniture I own is now nicked, scratched, dinged, scuffed, or has some form of water damage. And the bottom shelves of my end tables and center table are broken off. This was all the result of movers dragging my items (instead of lifting); putting tape directly on furniture instead of on blanket wrap; and improperly stacking the load.
3. My move was grossly underestimated--to the tune of over $700. (This does not include the $350 insurance premium with a $500 deductible that I paid.) On the day of the delivery, I was pressured by the foreman into changing the payment method to calculation by square foot instead of by weight because he said it would cost me well over $4000. This is NOT a decision that anyone should be faced to make on the day of their move.
4. Payment method was not clearly addressed when signing the contract. I was not informed ahead of time that I would have to pay by cash or check to the foreman on the day of pickup and on the day of the delivery.
5. The moving staff was 5 hours late to pickup. They did not call to let me know there was a delay so I had no idea if they were lost or if they were simply a no-show. I called customer service for assistance and they gave me the driver's phone number to call him directly. Of course, he did not pick up the phone.
6. The delivery directions were not followed. I prearranged for my landlord to sign for my items when they arrived because I would be out of the country. I filled out a power of attorney form and provided all the information to customer service with the phone number and name of my landlord and two other names in case something should happen. On the day of the delivery, I received repeated calls and threats that my items would not be delivered--meanwhile, I was in China and would not see these messages for three weeks. When I finally received an email from Customer Service--the same agent I had made arrangements with--I had to reply to again emphasize that this had all been prearranged before they finally delivered as promised.
7. The movers were unprofessional. They shouted at each other during the entire move. One mover even asked if he could drink the two beers in my fridge.
8. When my furniture was finally delivered, none of the items that they took apart were reassembled. This is standard interstate moving policy. If a bed or dresser is taken apart by movers, they need to be put it back together. My bed, dresser/mirror, and tables were not put together. I had to do what a crew of three paid men couldn't do on my own. Likewise, all of my boxes were put in the master bedroom and all of the furniture was squeezed into the office half its size. I am 5'5" and 130lbs and I was forced to move the dressers, desks, etc and assemble all furniture because my three paid movers couldn't handle the task.
9. The claims process is a mess. I had to resubmit my claims forms four times, with three different areas: claims department, customer service, and two specific agents, before someone finally said they were received. When I filled out the forms, I was told it could take anywhere from 4 months to 6 months to receive compensation. It has been over a month since I sent in the initial claim and I have yet to even hear the status of my claim.
10. This is NOT a moving company; it is a 3rd party moving brokerage. I was not told this and it is not indicated in any way on the website and publicity material. Nationwide Relo dispatches local companies to make the move. As a result, they know nothing about who will move your items, where they will be, how to contact the movers, or how to handle issues as they arise.
The one area where I felt some satisfaction was with the customer service agent named Angel Brown. She worked with me until my missing items were recovered, and I do believe that if it weren't for her diligence and professionalism I would never have received these items. Unfortunately, once she had recovered my items, she no longer answered my phone calls regarding my claims application for the damaged items.
All in all, I give this company an F.
Ok, I promised Pamela Ling that I would post something if the move went well. I was actually really impressed with the way the move went. The movers moved everythig onto the truck carefully and showed up on time. When I moved into my new place, I had the same experience and everything went perfectly. I would use again in a heartbeat.
As far as the move goes, it was good. Why I??m writing though, is because pf Paul McCabe, the guy who helped me over the phone with my estimate. They??re called ??moving coordinators? and he is the one who gave me the estimate of what everything would cost when I called. He was very patient with me because I didn??t understand at first how the estimate worked but he explained how the moving quote works very clearly so I didn??t feel like I was being ripped off.
Each time I called with a question, he made sure I knew how to get him directly and there was never a time that he didn??t call me back within a few hours. The move itself was good, above average. Nothing was damaged and the movers came on time.
Please be careful when you contact this company for moving service as it serves as a broker. Be aware that any negotiation you have with this company is not binding b/c ultimately the carrier, provided to you by Nationwide Relocation (NR) without your knowledge, is who you will have to take issues if you have a problem. I would NEVER use NR again and definitely would not refer NR to anyone i know. Just BE CAREFUL when you work with NR.
The single worst moving experience of my life, by far. They tricked me into using their service, broke my stuff, and then over charged me $1000 and now wont even call me back.
The moving truck they sent finally showed up 3 days later than agreed, charged me more to wrap my glass coffee tables (so we just left them), harassed me for 3 days while i was looking for an apartment to move into to tell them where to deliver (although i had month storage included in my quote), again showed up 3 days later than agreed to deliver. they were very disrespectful of my stuff and broke dishes, pictures, and even ripped my leather couch.
Here's the kicker: they toldl me I have to pay an additional $1000 dollars on top of what my balance was, that i had confirmed the night before. These @$$holes were very rude and told me that i either pay up or they keep my belongings hostage. no weigh ticket, no explination, just pay us or else, and maybe you can try to get your money back later.
Luckily, now that i have paid and am trying to get my money back they dont seem to be willing to call me back or answer when i call. ive tried calling for two weeks and get nothing, so i have filed with the BBB and am going to every review website i can find to warn others. BE CAREFUL!! USE ANOTHER SERVICE!!
they have made it impossible for me to hire them again. even if i liked their service, if i was to tell my wife "hey, lets use that same moving company again" after what they have done to us, she would kick my butt.
I found Nationwide Relocation Services offered strong service during our move from IL to NV. The move only had a few small (2 hr) delays which caused a hiccup to our plans. I think the stress is unavoidable but we had corteous movers and a caring sales rep.
We ended up paying more than the estimated price because our items weighed more but we figured as much. But even with the extra charges, the move cost us around $2800, incluing packing and unpacking which I thought was very fair.
Everything we planned over went well. Pick up was only slightly delayed but and delivery was on time thankfully. we had regular contact with our rep, the movers protected our home and possessions. Our furniture is fine.
Im just glad this is all over! Whew.
PEOPLE KNOW WHOM YOU ARE DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS. THEY DO BUSINESS UNDER MANY NAMES LOOK FOR THEM ON THE RIP OFF REPORTS. THEIR OWNER ALDO DISORBO IS ON MANY RIP OFF REPORTS AS WELL!

Nationwide Relocation Services are the most horrible moving companies. I hired them for moving from Texas to California. They just charged me the deposit and after that it was very hard to contact them. Everyday they gave me a different pick up date. Finally I tried to speak to a manager and I got a final date of 20th Feb, 7am to 9 am. I had the driver's # and I called him and the driver did not know that he was scheduled to pick my stuff. I had to request him so much. He finally agreed. But when he came to my apartment he told me that I will have to tip him and his buddy 240$ apart from the 1567$ that has been agreed upon in the contract. Nationwide should just go out of business. They do not realize how important a customer is. If you want to move peacefully, don't even think of Nationwide. They suck big time.
Nationwide Relocation is full of cheaters, blackmailers, and dishonest people. The more you will talk to their supervisors. You will find you are talking with a more professional liar. In the team of these criminals. They will laugh on your helplessness.
Initially these agents will talk to you so respectfully and then when the moving time will come, you will be doubtful if you dialed the same number.
They blackmailed me at the last moment by increasing the price 33% even before coming. These are agents. They never had the mover but keep blackmailing by stating if you want a mover, agree to more money, if not , your deposit will go away.
I am impressed by the fact that, these criminals are still in the business, even cheating hundreds of consumers. Every review is 100% correct.
I am cheated by Nationwide relocation Services. They kept my deposit of $715.46 and did not give me services. They asked me more money on the last moment when I refused to pay more money. They kept my deposit.
I hired Nationwide in 1st week of June for the moving date of June 25 from Atlanta, GA to Lexington, KY. The Nationwide agent Mr. Freddy, the nationwide agent confirmed that that movers will come on 25 or 26 and everything was included including packing material, packing service, mileage, gas, toll, shuttle charges etc. When I read the contract and asked about different legal term. Freddy said this does not apply to you . Then I emailed him stating we talked about these terms and let me know, if anything is not correct from our discussion. I called him and confirmed it was received. He confirmed everything was correct and there will not be any hidden charges,
Now the moving window time came, some moving company called on June 24 mornings and told me that they are calling on behalf of Nationwide and will come and pick the stuff on June 25. Nobody came, Then again on the same day; another local mover on Nationwide??s behalf called and said, he will come on 26 afternoons. Then he told me that he will charge extra $365 for Atlanta Shuttle and also 365 for Lexington Shuttle.
I was threatened that if I will not be paying the stated shuttle charges, movers will not come and deposit will be fortified.
After calling/leaving messages to several people and ultimately on June 28, their Manager, MS Cicely she will get me moving without shuttle charges, but moving date will be June 30. If I will not agree to that, my deposit will be fortified.
As promised delivery deadline was on June 28.They called me after 2 days of promised pick up date and told me that will move me without shuttle charges, the pick up date will be on June 30th and delivery will be after 3 days. If I will not agree for these days, my deposit $715,46 will be gone. They cheated and blackmailed me at the last moment and called me after several days of promised move date when I was already moved by another career. I had to hire another company urgently and paid $4500 for this emergency move.

After learning that Nationwide was not an actual van line (like Allied or United), I had serious reservations about the move. I have been a party to many long and short distance moves and this was the first time I had worked through a facilitator to coordinate the move. Frankly, I did not believe they would represent my interests with the contracted van company as well as I could. I can?t speak about all facilitators, but Nationwide has made me a believer. Except during his vacation, my estimator, Sean Boxer, made sure I was kept current on the move?s status. The contracted van line, A-Tops, arrived to make the pick-up as scheduled. Due to logistics surrounding my new home and the start of my new job here in Knoxville, the only day that would not have required me to take off work was Sunday the 3rd. Even though Sean and the rest of the staff at Nationwide tried to assure me that everything would be done to have the shipment delivered on the 3rd, they stopped short of making a guarantee. Up until the 3rd, I had fears that the contracting van line would exercise the far end of their contracted delivery window (the delivery window was from the 2nd to the 5th). In the end my fears were unjustified; A-Tops showed up on the 3rd and made herculean efforts to get the truck into the very tight complex where my new home is located.
It has been two weeks and I have now unpacked every box and inspected every piece of furniture; with the exception of two very minor furniture blemishes and one inexpensive broken glass, the move was flawless. This was probably due to the fact that almost every piece of furniture was wrapped in protective pads and extra care was given in protecting all the furniture?s glass elements. The attention given to my household goods by A-Tops was equal to or better than any move done for me in the past by the major van lines.
If I have a need to move again, I will most definitely consider having Nationwide facilitate the move.
Pros: Constant communication during move, fair pricing
Cons: Did not make it clear they were not an actual van line
I made the mistake of using Nationwide Movers and it has been a two week nightmare that will maybe end tomorrow. Make sure their price is in writing and do not take anyone's word for it. This was my fatal error, trusting. Their customer service is the best at avoiding calls and that ETA on my furniture was like their pick up. I received a two hour notice a full day ahead of schedule. For your peace of mind and your pocket book, look elsewhere for a mover. Well, I received my furniture and my worst fears were realized. Shattered furniture, broken coffee tables, cracked kitchen tables, cracked head boards to list a few. Almost everything was scraped and gauged and I had a 250 pound TV solid wood stand that was cracked in the center. ABLE MOVING, based out of Chicago Illinois, worked in concert with Nationwide in destroying my furniture and now they are willing to give me 60 cents PER POUND, which addds up to nothing. Please do not use these people.
I used this company and i was very impressed by their service. I would recommend this service to anyone, they held up their end of the deal and the movers were on time and courteous.Nationwide did a good job. Thanks
Pros: Strong Movers
I spoke with Julian at Nationwide for my move fro, Delaware to the south florida area. He was a fun to talk to and on top gave me a good price. I hadnt hired someone to move me before so for my first move it went really well. I got my stuff pretty fast and anytime I had a question he was there to answer it for me. Would definately use again.
I hired nationwide to move me from NC to CA for my recent transfer. i spoke with sean and he gave me a good price, wasnt the lowest, but it wasnt the highest either. He was able to let me know what o expect. The guys that moved me were great. Manny and his crew worked all afternoon to make sure that i was out by the end of the day. My stuff was delivered pretty timely and in good ondition.
Pros: friendly staff
My move with Nationwide Relocation services was less than satisfactory. The moving specialist assigned to our move grossly under estimated the weight in our house which lead to us having to pay 3 times the amount initially promised. When the contractor hired to do our move arrived, they took longer than promised, did not carefully pack any breakables, and blatantly lied about not being able to communicate with us. Our moving specialist was rude on the phone when we tried to resolve all of our matters, and nothing has been settled except that the movers got more money than they should have.
Julian Jamarillo, our moving specialist, needs to be investigated for his telephone behavior. He laughed in my ear, spoke to me disrespectfully, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me he was "his own boss who" makes "his own hours". I do not appreciate this treatement from my 5 year old, nor any person who refers to themselves as a professional.
Pros: Their estimate was the cheapest
Cons: After they took our stuff the price tripled
since my origiginal review I would like to say that my parents furniture has been delivered, all, intact and the company was All Coast Transportation. The two young men who delivered the items, Robert and Lonnie, were terrific, and anyone who has the good fortune to have them as the delivery agents will find them professional, courteous and hard working. What the home office was lacking in was more than made up for in All Coast's employees. Since these companies are basically service companies I hope they are aware of what assets these two young men are.
I feel like I'm having a nightmare. My parents contracted with this company and so far all we've heard are excuses and lies from the movers. They say they will be here 1 day and then don't show up. This has happened for the past 3 days. Then they say the truck has broken down, but they can't tell me where it is? I have since read others having the same complaints. I think this is a scam company. I pray that we get our stuff soon. I will be reporting this company.
Pros: none I can think of
I want to complement you on the level of service provided by Nationwide which was indispensable in managing a smooth moving experience for my mother. I especially appreciate your professionalism, attention to detail, gentle care with my belongings. I?d also like to extend my appreciation to the movers as well, who exhibited equal commitment to the job. They were both efficient and courteous. It?s refreshing to have ones expectations exceeded!
Pros: hard workers
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Thank you for working with us in our recent move to Houston, Texas. Even though we moved from a relatively small house in Lafayette, LA, Nationwide Relocation was the most thorough and provided a spread sheet for us to complete concerning details of items allocated for the move. Although your company was the most expensive, I based my decision in awarding you the move because of your accuracy of moving weight and personal concerns. In working with the actual moving group, they were considerate of our needs and did a superb job in packaging our priceless heirlooms to eliminate damages. As an overall review in working with Nationwide, we are very pleased with the outcome of our relocation. As a reference to anyone else considering a housing relocation company, I recommend Nationwide to be one of their top choices in moving companies.

Pros: read headline
Cons: there weren't any suprisingly
I can't thank you enough buddy, you and your company rock! I'm so glad I chose you guys for my move. It couldn't have gone smoother than a baby's bottom. Have a good weekend. You're the best and keep up the good work, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that because you already do.
Pros: they tookk good care of my belongings
Cons: It was hard to stay in touch
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all you've done in getting my move set up. When I had to let you know that I couldn't go with your company because of cost, it was strictly because of cost because I had to save as much money as possible. The stress of trying to work with another company convined me that I have to "go back to Marsha!" Your knowledge, humor, and patience have been a Godsend to me and I truly appreciate your making my move easier. Thanks for everything and for promising to be there should I need anything through this entire process. I know you mean it, and I'm sure you'll be hearing from me.
Pros: On time
I wanted to take a couple of minutes to write you a letter to commend one of your employees. His name is Tony Sparkman. I had the pleasure of working with this gentleman during the week of June 26, 2008. This was my first time arranging corporate transfers of automobiles. I needed to make arrangements to transport four automobiles, two to Chester, VA, and two others to South Jordan, Utah.
Mr. Sparkman took the time to explain to me what the regulations were, what my options were, and answered the many questions that arose, in the couple of days it took for us to confirm the contract and make the arrangements. He was very patient, returned all phone calls or answered emails in a quick and efficient manner. He was helpful to our accounting department and the arrangements were made quickly and to everyone?s satisfaction. Not often enough, do people who perform excellent customer service receive credit. I complement you on employing such an excellent example of true customer service. In the past I have held the position of Customer Service Manager and understand how hard the job can be. Thank you again, for having the type of service that is valuable to me as a Director of Materials. I look forward to doing business with your company in the future, and I will inform others members of our Regional Purchasing Association of your company and its services.

Pros: Excellent Customer Service Reps
Cons: None comes to mind..
I wanted to thank you for all of your help these past couple of weeks with my move. It has not been an easy time for my family and I in distributing the items from my late Grandmother's estate. Your guidance in moving her personal belongings from Los Angeles to Denver with such short notice has helped to put my mind at ease. You have responded promptly and courteously to my every question and request, whether it was in your direct control or not. You have blown me away and exceeded my expectations, and I appreciate everything you have done for me. Well done!
Pros: Prompt and Courteously
Cons: What are the drawbacks?
