I can only speak for my experience with the ownership and say that these people are passionate about what they do and that is hard to find. Dr. Chip Cannon is a man of integrity who truly cares about his clients and employees. They may be perceived as a little expensive but the statement that "you get what you pay for" is especially true when it comes to healthcare. Would you go get surgery from someone who says that they are the cheapest around? Not me.

I predict this overpriced boutique will be out of business in a year. Why?:
Product-not a large enough selection.
Price-the Wellness brand of food I buy is even less expensive at Whole Foods Market. Mentioned it to the owner once...they dont care.
Service-poor. was just in there today....the shop clerk had to look over all the shelves only to find they did not have the product i needed...any type of flea shampoo. He also shrieked at first and said "eeewww...your dog has fleas??!!" since my dog was with me. The stupid queen will never know that he lost a customer today.,,,and she wont care.

Ok, I'm not sure why there are people railing against city pet supply, but my only explanation is that rude clients tend to get what they dish out. ANd I think that is perfectly acceptable. I've worked in customer service for YEARS, and in my experience, the times when I was rude to a client was when the client acted reprehensibly. With that said,I LOVE coming to city pet supply. I lived in dallas, and that was the only place I would go because they have fantastic brands of food. NO junk, just high quality foods that won't rot your dogs system out. I love their selection of toys. I moved to garland in december, but I still will make the trek out to this store BECAUSE of the customer service that I receive. My dog (a great dane) loves the guys who work there. And having Oliver (a dog of one of the workers) there to greet you when you walk in is such a treat. I love the people who work here, I love the pet points system that you get, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the customer service and selection of foods. I recommend it to anyone.

I think this is the best pet supply store I have found. I cannot imagine why people think the customer serivce is bad. Any time I have had any type of trouble with a product they take it back and exchange it no questions asked. They have been extremely helpful in finding a food that my cat likes, by letting me take samples and offering to even take back the other for a refund if he wouldn't eat it. Tell me where would you possibly find service like this? Pets Mart I doubt it. I would take all of these negative reviews with a grain of salt , some people are impossible to please. I work in customer service and am very aware of these type of people.

I am not a friend of anyone who works there either. Just an honest customer and an honest review.

The customer service is not something for them to be proud of, but if you know what you are getting it's just fine. They have a very large selection of pet foods. I have found that they are about 10-20% more expensive than other pet food stores, but they do have some things you can't find elsewhere.

I called City Pet Supply and asked them to order a pet carrier for me. I provided them with a website that included the bag description and price and they agreed to order the bag for me from their supplier. A few weeks later I went in to pick-up my bag only to find it priced $60 more than the website I sent them. I questioned this and was called the next business day by the manager.

The manager's response is why I will never be back. Not only was he extremely rude on the phone but he hung up on me. I tried to call back and he answered the phone saying "Never call here again!".

No customer should ever be treated this way. Shame on you!

I've always had a positive experience at City Pet Supply. The employees are knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. The store carries hard to find products that I'd been forced to order online and pay extra for shipping.

I read the previous reviews and for what it's worth quicked nails are something that happens more often than your groomer would like to tell you (dogs tend to be uncooperative and jerk their paws when getting nails clipped). Additionally, I've purchased coffee, sandwiches, and sweets during my visits and never once received poor service or bad products.

(For the record, I am a consumer and not friends with or related to anyone employed at City Pet Supply.)

I have taken my dogs there just for a bath. I have two Labs, and when they came back, they had quicked nails, and they still smelled of wet dog. Also I dropped them off around 10:30, 11 am.. I didn't get a call back from them until 4 PM to say they were ready! Also the prices are ridiculous for their food and merchandise. I can find collars alot more cuter and WAY MORE CHEAPER than 50 DOLLARS! No way. No Thanks. Never Again.
