Sushi 101

I always have excellent service when we dine at Sushi 101. The fish always tastes fresh and wonderful. They have a good variety of sushi items and cooked entrees. We love this restaurant. I think it is the best sushi restaurant in the University area.

Worst place to dine in at even thought the food was all right. We weren't even greeted when we came in, the hostess was too busy fixing her make-up which seemed overly done. When we were seated, we didn't even have a waiter come up to us for drinks or our order. We were basically ignored until the hostess finally got us drinks and our order done. During the entire time we were eating, we had no refills on our drinks and the waiters just ignored us. After waiting a while, we went to the front to pay and the hostess even had the nerve to tell me to leave the tip on our table when she handed our change back. I was already in a bad mood and just walked out with my friends. WORST SERVICE EVER!

My husband and I recently decided to dine at the Sushi 101 near Boardwalk Billy's, we always went to the one on Woodlawn and always had a wonderful experience. No one greeted us when we walked in, all the employees just sat there, so we sat at the bar. The "bartender", a short asian girl, sat behind the bar smoking, rather than greet us or give us menus! The manager, a friendly guy who introduced himself as Allen, finally gave us menus. The "bartender" finally decided to serve us, seeing as she just finished her cigarette, (and didn't wash her hands!) asked us for our drinks, she smelled like smoke the whole time! Are we supposed to smell her?!? The drinks were awful! The sushi roll we got (called Professor Vu roll) was greasy and the grilled chicken tasted like microwaved chicken! It was dry AND cold! We always get the same thing at the one on Woodlawn and it was never like that! We complained to Allen and he made up for it, but the bartender named Nancy gave us really bad attitude! I told this to my friends and they all agreed that the Sushi 101 in the University Area is the by far WORST Sushi 101 in Charlotte!!
