Even though many customers were still unsatisfied with the service, he was still consistent about going out there and ATTEMPTING to provide internet service for the people who couldnt get anything better than Dial-Up. He created a family owned business on his own. How many people have the initiative to go out there and do that? For people to complain about a person that went out there to help you and spent many long hours in harsh weather to get YOU service, you should feel grateful that someone actually gave a damn. Many people have their flaws, and people do make mistakes. It's human. So, cut him some slack, he tried his best at what he did, he didn't forget about you. The people who are complaining obviously dont understand the concept of family emergences, or feeling bad. As a witness, Michael had a few health problems. Did he show it or complain? Absolutely not. He was consistent with what he did. And as far as the "other" customers? Any of the sites that he installed worked out excellent, and continued to work. I think it's real low that such people have the nerve to be so selfish and self-centered on why things didn't go their way. He didn't make up excuses. There were circumstances. Why you can't understand this, i dont have the slightest clue. What's done is done. The business is no longer in service, unfortunately. I thought to give my opinion on this subject. Michael, you were a great person and tried your absolute best, and had a very good sense of humor to not let these negative words get to you. God Bless.

I to lost $317.05 to Michael at Dove Lane. He never even got to the point of installation. I reported him to the BBB, NC Attorney General, WSOC Action 9, and internet fraud. He will not return calls and now my letters are being returned that his po box has been closed. He is a terrible human being and has ripped off many people in Cleveland and surrounding counties. I hope he gets what is coming to him. He lives in a nice house in a nice neighborhood, and guess what? We are paying for it!

I had a very bad experience with Dove Lane. It started in November of 2006. I contacted them about their service. Michael, the owner came out and did a site survey and said he could provide service for me. Early December he did come out and begin installation. This process was ongoing for weeks, partly due to weather, partly due to excuses. We did finally get "some" service, but it was not consistant. Then service went down to my home. Michael to not respond to any of the emails stating that my service was down. I was unable to discontinue my dial up service because Dove Lane could not be counted on for giving me a connection. After a week without service I mailed a certified letter to Michael stating that I wanted to discontinue my service with Dove Lane and for him to remove his equipment. The letter sat at the Post Office for a month before being sent back to me. He would never sign for it. I sent out four other letters to all the addresses he had listed, none came back, but I still didn't hear from him. I contacted another satellite company and they said until his equipment was removed they couldn't so anything, so I went into my barn and carefully removed his routers. I wrapped them in a paper towel to protect them. When Michael finally did show up for his equiptment he took the routers and told me that paper towels could cause static and ruin them. Then, a couple weeks later when he tried using the routers he contacted me to let me know that one of them was not working and due to that I would get no refund of any money I had paid up front for his service. I had service at two locations, and what caused me to cancel with him was that I had lost service at one location and he would not respond to my reports to him on the matter. He never did say that maybe the reason I had lost service was the fact that one of his routers was bad BEFORE I took it down.

It took Michael around six weeks to install my service. Always having some sort of reason why things weren't working. Then it came down to me not being honest about the fact that my property is over granite and that caused a grounding problem and that he would have to treat it like a marine location since he couldn't get a ground.

Also, he could not provide me email. I had to use my domain address and my DIAL-UP account to have email though outlook. He never did remedy this situation, so I NEVER was able to have a Dove Lane email address.

Service was supposed to be continuous, this did not happen either.

I lost approximately $345 to Dove Lane and had very little service to show for it. At times he would say half the equipment would be mine, then it turned out that it must have all been his. He left some sort of VERY SMALL receiver on the top of my house and a USB Booster. He could have had it all, I didn't care. At one point he said I would get $160 back, then when he discovered that the router wasn't working he said I would get back nothing. Thing is, I had checked the value ofthe router on the internet when I took it down to see what his equipment was worth, not even a quarter of teh $160. So if the router was the reason I didn't get any of the $160 back then I should have gotten at least $120.

I would advise anyone contemplating Dove Lane to get a list of his customers and see how satisfied they are or if they just deal with him because they have already given him their money.
