Hello faithful clients and anyone looking for a new salon/hair stylist! I am one of the previous stylists at Haircolorxperts Dilworth, which has recently closed their doors for good. I moved to Charlotte about two years ago. The greatest angst I had with my move was the process of finding a new hair stylist. My ?hair? directly affects my moods and my level of self confidence about myself. I admit that I have a very personal relationship with my hair?I never feel well groomed if I?ve had a bad haircut. My search to find a new stylist in Charlotte became a real nightmare for me. Before coming to MeI, I had used two different stylists and in both cases, it was a disaster.

The day I walked into Mel?s salon, I had a bad haircut that aged me by 10 years and a color that was not complementary to my skin tone. I am so thankful I found Mel?.she is my ideal of ?perfection?. From my first visit, Mel carefully listened and made recommendations that made sense to me. I left the salon, looking better than I had in two years. She has tamed my uncontrollable hair, including my unruly cowlicks and makes me feel wonderful. Mel is a smart, extremely professional stylist who cares deeply about her client?s satisfaction. Mel has always exceeded my expectations. I honestly cannot pay her enough compliments to adequately reflect how good my hair now looks. I am constantly having strangers walk up to me just to complement my cut and color. What more could you ask for?? Mel is my hero. Everyone at this salon goes out of their way to give you a positive experience. It?s the perfect salon with perfect stylist. Thank you so much Mel for being my salvation!!!

I am new in the area, originally from California. I have been obsessed with finding a hairstylist that will meet all of my needs (I will admit Im high maintenance). I have been here for a year, and put through hell with finding a salon and stylist that does good hair. I didn't think it would be this difficult. I was referred to Mel at haircolorxperts by a girl who I work with. I showed up and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Mel greeted me and I was extremely impressed off the bat. She listened to me when I got in her chair and tamed the butterflies in my stomach. She was quick but accurate. The massage I received in the shampoo sink was amazing, it put me asleep! The end result was beautiful and I couldn't have been any more happier to the point of crying in her chair. I will definitely be back every four weeks to maintain my high maintenance look. Jen was very attentive and knowledgeable. I went in with a few photos of what I wanted done and she took te tme to ask me what I liked about those particular styles. The cut I chose required a lot of styling to get the look in the photo, but this morning my hair looked great with a minimum of styling (just drying). Thanks a bunch, I'll be back. sorry about the user name, I typed it in as a joke!

I read all of the wonderful reviews about Mel at Haircolorexperts and was really excited when I made an appointment and she was able to do my hair. Unfortunately, I suspect she may have written these reviews herself as I found out she knows nothing about cutting hair. I ended up going to a different salon the next day and they thought I had gone to a Supercuts! In all I ended up having to cut off over 6 inches of hair to try and repair the damage from Mel and am still looking at weird layers that will just need to grow out. Mel does not know how to cut hair and should have her license taken away.

It seems as though Mel has lost her touch, the haircut was so bad that I cried when I got home. I spent two years growing out my hair and now it is all gone. When she finished "thinning" my hair I could not believe how much she had taken out. The "layers" are botched and uneven. Now I need to go get another haircut to repair the unevenness will probably end up with a bob rather than the long hair I started with.

We looked online to find a new salon to color my daughters hair and found hair xperts in Dilworth. We were matched up with Ambra who did a fantastic job as it had been months since my duaghters hair had been done and she brought her hair back to life.We have been back for the second appt and it was just as good as the first.....excellent hair color by Ambra. She told us after this second appt that she was moving up to Birkdale Village. We already have scheduled our next appt with her in Sept and will be driving to Birkdale.

I just moved to Charlotte and needed a new hair place. Haircolorxperts (Dilworth) came highly rated based on many reviews. My appointment with Mel was for hair color and cut (the cut is complimentary on certain days if you're a newbie). I was going blonder and she chose the color perfectly. She also showed me color swaps to get a better idea about what I was looking for. The cut is also exactly how I wanted it - shapely and easy to style. She even gave some good styling tips about how to change my hair style (wearing it curly, straight, etc). Overall, I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely be heading back.

I recently had my hair cut by Ambra and it's the best haircut i've ever had. She asked a lot of questions, listened, and did the little things. I plan to go back every month. Plus, the price is extremely reasonable!

Having my hair highlighted and cut by Ambra was a fantastic experience!! I felt pampered; Ambra took her time in helping me decide on a haircolor and cut. Haircolorxperts in Dilworth is a great salon: I felt relaxed by staff who are truly friendly, knowledgable, and hospitable! You really care about doing a good job and about making sure the client is happy. I'll certainly be back!!!

This will be the 5th time I have gone to Mel. She is amazing. She is the one hair dresser i have found in Charlotte that I can tell exactly what I want and she does it. One of my friends recommended her and now 4 of us all go to her. Everyone in the salon is super nice and very helpful. I would recommend anyone to go to the Dilworth location! :)

My stylist is Mel - she is a great listener and translates my requests into great color and style. I always walk out w/exactly what I asked for. I get my hair done every 4-6 weeks - so I am there fairly frequently. I don't think I have ever had to wait for my appointment - efficient service as well. Location is easy to get to with plently of parking. A fun place to go.

I really liked the hair cut and service I received at this salon. Stewart did a fabulous job, and I will be back again. I liked the fact that he took the time to look at my hair dry before washing it. The location and price were also great, I would have happily paid more for the cut.

My first time in I found the salon very relaxed and comfortable. All the staff are friendly and Melanie, who colored and cut my 'do to clean up my formerly "mushroomed puffball" hairstyle, did a wonderful job! I will be back :-)

I SAW THESE REVIEWS AS ALL OF THE OTHERS WHO READ AND THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. MY COLOR WAS A DISASTER AND MY HAIRCUT LOOKS LIKE MY 5 YEAR OLD DID IT. I WENT TO ANOTHER SALON IN Dilworth and the stylist informed me that her friend had worked at that location and was told to write her own reviews. SHAME ON THIS LOCATION . I read the reviews and noticed the similarities. Honesty is important for people who want quality work. I would not recommend this salon. I know I am not the only one that has had a bad experience of color work and an uneven haircut. SC

I am new to town and saw the wonderful reviews about HairColorExperts and decided to give it a try. They truly live up the hype. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend working with any of the stylist. They have a fun and friendly atmosphere along with excellent customer service. Mel was my stylist and she was AMAZING! She gave me a full consultation (including styling tips), high lights and low lights, and a stylish cut that really suited me well. I have received many compliments since I had it done. I will be going back to her again, I would have to say this experience has been a fantastic experience.

. The customer service is great and they are all very talented. They offer a drink before the service and there are constant smiles on everyone's faces. I went to the Hair color experts in Ohio and when I moved here to Charlotte I haven't found anyone who does my hair like Mel does. I was very well pleased by all of my experiences so far. I would highly recommend Hair color experts in Dilworth to everyone of all types of hair!

It's nice to have a professional with a down to earth approach to fixing a botched home hair color do it yourself who needs a professional hair colorist disaster. No one laughed when I came in, treated like a long time customer (and it was my first visit!). Sam focused on helping me select the right color (it was hard to tell what my real color was and we knew it wasn't the color that I created). It's a warm and welcoming shop and I will be back. I found the other customers friendly as well. It's located in an easy to find location, clean, and easy parking.

i'm an uptown professional changing hair stylists after eight years! All I can say is Wow. Sam quickly identified hair needs, discussed color, talked about my current approach to hair care. Came out with color that exceeded expecations, and an upgraded style, close to my current one but enhanced face better. Took me from mousey to looking more current and updated. Reasonable prices! Sam's 26 years experience was obvious and appreciated. Recommend everyone go and ask for Sam.

What's to like about this place...everything! I started going to HCX in Dilworth b/c it was close to my house and I needed a quick haircut for my daughters. However everyone was so nice and friendly there so I started going for myself. I love how attentive the staff is, it is a pleasure to be there. Stewart has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 6 months. I was having some color issues and he really helped me figure it out and get me to a more natural looking color. I am so happy with my hair color and cut now. Stewart is amazing! He is very good at talking to you before he does anything to make sure of what you really want. I like that! He is also a lot of fun to sit and talk to, which there is a lot of when you are getting highlights. Check out HCX.... I am sure you will be pleased with everything. Also you can't beat the price.... it is just as nice as going to a fancy salon but not as pricey!

Stewart was very friendly and listen to what I was wanting in a hair cut. He gave me his ideas and together we came up with a plan and boy he did a great job. From the great massage while washing my hair to the great attention the staff showed me, it was well worth the price. I have told several friends about the place and I will be returning.

I walked in the HCX with a great need of attention to my hair. It is grey and unruly to say the least.
I was greeted with friendly smiles . I asked for a stylist and Stewart Hough came to my rescue.
First he listened to my expectations and then began to what some might expect to be the unattainable.
The scalp treatment was to die for. It was truly worth the time and money. He gave me a style I can manage on a daily basis and looked really good. Stewart is very talented and gracious in his profession. I would highly recommend. The whole experience was fabulous , love the quite Serene decor. Go try it , you will like it!

I've been mall-haired enough! When I decided to try something more professional, I discovered Stuart at Hair Color Experts. I was so pleased that I wondered why in the world I had waited so long to do it. The warm greeting and fun atmosphere were a great introduction, followed by one of the best haircuts I've ever had. I'm a guy with expectations that are often higher than they should be, but even they were met! Stuart did an absolutely fantastic job and really made me look good... not an easy job! Hats off to Stuart! And now that I've got a good haircut, I won't be wearing a hat any more!

I switch to HCX after the cost of a haircut at Aveda continued to increase every visit. Stewart helped me as a walk-in and I have been going back to him ever since for almost half the price of my previous haircuts. I leave with a cut that is exactly what I'm looking for. If you let him do what he wants it's even better. You won't be disappointed!

Stewart is the most personable, professional hair stylist I've ever gone to and I cannot imagine going anywhere else. I've lived in Dilworth for quite some time and used to go see another guy but I could never get an appointment and I don't like the quickie barbers or places like Great Clips! Stewart's been cutting my hair now for a while. It's not too expensive and he's great. He does an awesome job and I'm always satisfied. He's very talented and I highly recommend him!

I had hair that was just below my shoulders and decided to do something a bit drastic and go short and slightly crazy. Melanie did an incredible job. I essential said "do your thing" and she did it! I have really curly hair that I love to wear straight! It is extremely hard to find someone that can give me a cut that works well with either style. I had heard about Sam from a friend and decided to give him a try. Wow! He is awesome! The technique was different then I had seen before, but the end result was phenomenal!!! He used a blowdryer to straighten it after my cut and it was the absolute best my hair had ever looked after a cut!! I just can not say enough great things about my hair. I am so pleased! As for the rest of the salon, they were so nice and fit me in quickly. They made sure I was comfortable and offered me something to drink. Everyone was very pleasent and professional. I have found my salon!! You should give it a try, once you do you won't go anywhere else!

I am new to the Charlotte area (actually about an hour away) and want to start by saying, it was definitely worth the drive to get my hair done by Sam at Hair Color Xperts (Dilworth.) Sam listened to me and what I wanted, did great highlights and cut and even with the extensive consultation, I was in and out in about two hours. I am from DC so maybe it isn't fair to evaluate price by DC standards, but I thought it was an excellent value. In addition to Sam, all the members of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this salon highly: quality, service, value, atmosphere, cleanliness, professionalism.

I am new to Charlotte, and was extremely nervous about finding a new salon. It didn't help that I was ready for a brand new cut and different hair color. I drove past HCX and thought, what the heck. I made an appointment and they got me in within the next couple days, which was extremely helpful to me. I went to Mel, and she gave me the blonde highlights and the shorter cut that I was looking for. My husband says my blonde has never looked better, and he is a pretty tough critic! I HIGHLY suggest this salon, particularly Mel- she was sooo sweet too.

Since November I have been trying to recover my hair color after a horrible dye job (from someone out of state), I've been to many, many professionals and have never received better results than I did today.
My hair has been through it all, and somehow, Sam was able to take me back to my natural color-but better!
Sam is truly a color/style artist. He paints a picture in his mind and skillfuly conveys exactly what he sees onto your hair. His work is unbelievably good, he really knows his stuff. Never have I had my hair done as well as Sam did today.

The salon did an excellent job of working me into the schedule on such late notice. They are a neighborhood friendly business whom I would recommend to everyone.

I made my appointment through Email and found it extremely efficient.

I highly recommend the haircolorxperts in Dilworth, particularly Stewart, the master stylist. I have been to him twice, and both times I have walked out loving my cut and color. What I really like is that I can tell him a general idea and he knows what will look good on me. I have received many compliments on my hair and I will continue to go back. For anyone who is new to the area or wants a hair stylist that is highly skilled and talented, I definitely recommend Stewart at haircolorxperts in Dilworth! On a side note, the staff at haircolorxperts are very friendly and the atmosphere is enjoyable as well.

I am recently new to the Charlotte area and tried haircolorxperts for the first time and loved it! The salon is upscale and very clean/modern. The service I received was top notch and my blone highlights (done by Mel) were great! All of the customers seemed very happy and I felt it was just an overall great salon choice. I would recommend this place to anyone. I even set up my next appointment before I left!

I'm new to Charlotte and was so glad to so quickly find a place where I felt relaxed getting a new haircut. Clean and hip atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service. Mel was excellent -- she really listened to what I wanted and also was able to contribute her expertise. Reasonable to moderately expensive price. My appointment did start 20 min late, but it was worth the wait.

I just moved here and called this location as it was close to me and asked for someone who was great with color and could do fun and interesting hair cuts. They suggested Sam for me and I could not be happier. He is a Senior stylist at this location and everyone is so friendly. I always feel welcome and the salon is so chic. I could not be happier with my hair and I get compliments on it all the time. I carry Sam's cards to make sure people know who does my hair because I am so proud of it.

I highly recommend this location and especially Sam, you will not be disappointed. It's a high end salon with great, affordable prices but the kind of service you expect. I just can't say enough great things about this place. All I can say is RUN don't walk and get the best haircut you are ever going to get. I can't thank Sam enough for my amazing new look.

Stewart, the master stylist, did a FANTASTIC job. I didn't know exactly what color or cut I wanted when I went in - actually I had no clue! But he worked with me, gave me some great suggestions, and the outcome was absolutely beautiful! The customer service is first class - who wouldn't like wine (or a soda) as you are getting pampered? The salon is beautiful, and conveniently located to downtown Charlotte, so stopping by after work is so easy. I highly recommend this location - and Stewart especially!!

Finally somewhere to go and get your hair done in Charlotte! I'm from NY and have been all over Charlotte looking for a great stylist with a reasonable price. I saw Mel about a week ago and I absolutely LOVE what she did with my hair. She cut it just the way I asked and the color is amazing! I walked out of the salon with great hair and still money left over. I will be going back to Mel every time to get my hair done. I suggest you do the same!!

I went this afternoon and love what Mel did to my hair. I had a haircut previously about two weeks ago but the hairdresser did not thin my thick hair enough. Mel did a wonderful job layering my hair again and further thinning it so that it's managable for my everyday routine. I highly recommend this salon.

I was having one of those "I want to get my hair cut right now days" and after reading a couple reviews online found Peter. He was able to it me in that afternoon, gave me a great cut, kept me entertained the entire time, and best of all actually gave me a style that I could replicate at home!

My experience with Kenilworth HCX has been wonderful. Jeff listens and delivers a great cut every time. You also can?t go wrong with his coloring techniques. He knows how to match a flattering color with your completion and never hesitates to explain how to use the products and styling techniques in order to recreate the style outside the salon. I moved here from Atlanta and had no idea where to go to get my hair highlighted and cut. I had been to this chain in another city and was pleased. At this salon I was told I was getting their master stylist. Well needless to say I paid a fortune for the muddiest blonde color and an average at best haircut. I advise a consultation before sacrificing your hair here.

I colored my own hair dark and then tried to go back to blonde.... I ended up with orange hair and chemical burns on my head- Hair Colorxperts saved my life! Not only did they fix the huge mess I made and returned my hair look very close to my natural color, but they made it look really great!! I was so happy I almost cried when they were done. It was a collaborative effort between the Dilworth location giving me a consultation, hair cut and help scheduling the color appt, and then Shelly at the Ballentyne location did the color. I would recommend both places a hundred times over!

I'm new to the area and my real estate agent recommended I make an appointment with Cher, since she goes to her. Having moved from the NYC area I have always been a bit snooty about my hair. I was so pleased with the outcome. Cher is an absolute professional on an artistic level, as well as a personable level. It is refreshing to have this type of experience and connection with my new stylist. See you soon Cher!

Shonda does a great job and is very meticulous. I am always impressed with her cutting, highlights, and finish work when she does my hair. I would recommend her to anyone!

I tried this salon after reading these reviews and loved it. I had been going to the same stylist for 8 years and she moved. Feeling lost I wasn't sure what to do. I tried a few salons in the area but never felt comfortable. Eve not only made me feel comfortable, but she gave me a fantastic haircut to compliment my color. My husband even commented on my hair. I'm new to Charlotte and knew finding a new stylist would be scary. I read other reviews for this salon and tried Eve based on the other recommendations. Eve listened to what I wanted and even matched my hair color perfectly from my old salon. The cut was beautiful and I felt good when i left. I made sure to make another appointment before I left. My experience with haircolorxperts was most excellent. My appointment began as scheduled and was conducted in a timely fashion with great skill. My stylists name was Julie and she provided great service in the field of hair treatments. She was very knowlegable and very friendly. I highly recommend her for anyone needing a haircut or hair coloring.

I am new to the area and just googled for a hair salon. Thankfully it pointed me to haircolorxperts. I called and got a same day appointment!!...how often does that happen?? I made an appt with Sara Patterson. I showed up and was shown around the salon. Sara was right on time with my appt that was for 6:15pm. She was wonderful! I was alittle nervous because I have been going to the same person for 2 years in No. VA, but was wonderfully surprised. I made another appointment with her before I left! I would recommend haircolorxperts to anyone

I tried Hair Color Experts for the first time on Friday no knowing what to expect. They were GREAT! Eve cut and colored my hair. It really looked great. You know you have good stylist when you look better coming out than when you went in.
The staff was exceptional and they called me Saturday afternoon just to make sure that I was still happy with my cut and color.

I would highly recommed Hair Color Experts to anyone!

I moved from the UK to Charlotte over a year ago and still continued to fly home to visit my best friend to cut my hair. I have not stepped foot into a Salon for 16 Years. In the past I have found them Pretentious, overpriced, and always left with something resembling a beehive, with soooo much product. I was never able to replicate their style the next day even if I did like it..... NOT NOW.... EVE is fantastic she's not only personable, and friendly, she is excellent at her Job!!! I went from Blonde to Red and she advised me what shade to go for it to stay. One of my friends in the UK was Pink in a week... not me!! Her cut is sublime and the color lasts. As you can tell I love it there!! worth every dollar and more...

I have been trying for 25 years to get the right beige blond hair color and no one has ever been able to achieve this color. Finally, Haircolor Experts did it!!! What a beautiful color - the one I always wanted. For a change, someone listened to what I wanted and didn't just do what they wanted. I will go back over and over again and will recommend them to all of my friends.

Moved to town last month and found haircolorxperts on citysearch.com. Gave them a try b/c of the reviews. My expectations were definitely met. Clean environment, very personable which was refreshing given some of the stylist egos and drama I had to deal with at my previous salon. I give them a thumbs up and rebooked my future appointment.

Dan was my stylist who was very warm and friendly. He was detailed in my consultation and was a great listener to what I was looking for. Upon completion of my consultation I was quoted a price for my service. This gave me additional confidence, since I knew exactly what I was going to pay for my service. I was impressed with my outcome and would recommend Dan and haircolorxperts to others. He did a fantastic job. By the way, Dan gives a great scalp massage.

I have been seeing haircolorxperts more and more and was intrigued by cyber imaging and that I could see my new style before my stylist worked on me. I walked in and met with Eve and specifically asked to be cyber imaged as a part of my consultation. After playing around with different styles of cuts and colors, I picked one that I thought I might like. Cyber imaging was a neat tool to give me an understanding of would look like with my new look. Eve was thorough in her consultation and I was quoted a price prior to my service. This I really appreciated as I do not like surprises. Eve gave me a new look that I can't wait to show off to my girlfriends at our next get together.

I wasn't sure what to expect given that I was trying a new stylist. I'd heard of haircolorxperts as a new, trendy, upscale salon that invests alot in its stylists in terms of education. In my opinion, this was key considering that most stylists aren't up to date on techniques. I decided to give them a try. Dan was a great listener and gave me awesome looking highlights and cool new cut. I can't wait to show off the new me at my upcoming holiday parties. I rebooked and will recommend my friends.
