Chicago's Nancy's Pizza is GREAT!

great pizza!

by Brooke J. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,370

This place is great if you want a "different" pizza taste. It isn't like the traditional chains around. The pizza is much more hearty, but also much more pricey. I wouldn't recommend it for every pizza outing, but for the occasional splurge, it hits the spot!

Great Tasting Pizza

by Jason R.

This pizza is above good. I love the thick crust, it is very sinful to eat, but a treat every so often. I love their meat lovers. The service is always above excellence and the value of price for the pizza is very affordable.

Authentic Chicago Pizza

by S S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,804

I am from Chicago and I LOVE this pizza better than many of the other traditional pizza places in Chicago. Deep dish pizza is the best. Its really cheesy and saucy. This location is a nice sized restaurant. Unfortunately the wait service is not exceptional.

PROS: Great pizza
CONS: Service a little slow

While I still like the authentic pizza's in chicago, if you have never had chicago style pizza this place is a must. It is an extreme deep dish style pizza, where 2 slices will fill anyone up and 3 will make you feel like a glutton.

Nancy's had quick servi

Pros: Chicago style pizza option , good value, great food

Authentic Chicago Pizza--This is the only one in Atlanta!!

by craving4food

After living in Chicago for many years, I was so glad to find Nancy's here in Atlanta. This is the closest thing to Chicago deep dish pizza that you'll find here in Atlanta. The crust is crispy and not too thick, and you usually have to "scoop" out your slice because the ingredient are so thick (like a pizza pie, I guess). The sides are about 2-3inches high, and about a pound or more of cheese and other ingredients in the center. This is not the kind of pizza you pick up and fold up. You definitely need a knife and fork, but it's worth it! You have to also consider that the prep/cook time for such a thick pizza maybe a little longer, but I've usually only had to wait about 20-25minutes for a large pizza. Personally, I love the "Rocco's Party Pizza" but they are all very good. If you're looking to try something different from NY style pizza, I would definitely recommend trying this place. Note: The restaurant in Buckhead is the only one that offers a dine-in option.

Pros: Authentic, friendly service, Fast preparation despite the thicker pizza

Cons: Only 1 dine-in location. All others are take-out only

Disappointed Deep Dish Pizza!!

by pizzaconniseur

I'm a pizza conniseur from the north, and I used to run an independent pizza parlor. I was very much looking forward to Nancy's because I have seen many good reviews.
I believe the quality of the pizza ingredients is there. However, I was not expecting my appetizers to be baked; via a conveyor oven. Our appitizers were slightly soggy and not completely hot, they could have been baked for another minute in the oven. And as for our deep dish pie, it was not as hot as a pizza pie should be when you are a sit down pizza parlor. The pizza should have been HOT!! Our pie should have been left in the oven for another minute too. The place wasn't busy enough to warrant a mediocre pie. When you pay over 20 bucks for a pie, it should be HOT stuff!! And since you pay when you order, I didn't feel like there was any recourse. The dough of our pie, tasted as though it was frozen, i should of asked if they made there dough on site or was it shipped from
Chicago like the rest of the ingredients? We need to have more deep dish pizza places outside the perimeter. Too bad they closed the Upper Crust.

Pros: Nice restaurant, very contemporary, perfect for Buckhead

Cons: Pizza and apps not hot eough

Best Deep Dish

by Steever

I like pizza and although it is a chain Nancy's is a good spot for a togo pie. It is located between Ponce and North so it is easy to get to. Pizza is not cheap but worth it. Just remember to get the Deep dish, but stay away fom the thin crust.

Pros: Deep Dish

Cons: Thin Crust

Best Pizza in Atlanta

by atlchick23

I had been looking for a pizza place ever since Upper Crust Pizza closed years ago in Atlanta. This is it! It is the best pizza in Atlanta hands down. No competition!! Great service when I've eaten in. Great value when I take it home. No complaints. Once, when we accidentally spilled our glass of wine, they gave us another one no charge! Try it----you'll love it!

Pros: Best pizza, good coupons online.

Cons: I have to drive from the burbs! How 'bout one OTP??

Best Deep Dish Pizza.... One Slice is a Meal!

by davidhgay

Authentic Deep Dish Pizza from Chicago. Deep dish or thin crust will equally satisfy; it just depends on your mood. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We have met the owner on several visits because they like to come by your table to make sure you have everything you need and that you are enjoying yourself. The atmosphere looks a little bit like a sports bar and is very relaxing and comfortable and still very family friendly. They really make an effort to please. Good salads and other dishes to satisfy everyone. I was told to check their website for the coupons and discount offers.

Pros: Really Good and Satisfying Food with Excellent Service

Cons: A bit of a wait but well worth it!

This is Pizza!

by dbell26

Nancy?s pizzeria is right on the money if you are looking to enjoy authentic pizza from Chicago. Deep dish or thin crust will equally satisfy; it just depends on your mood. The staff is very friendly. The owner has been known to come by your table to make sure you have everything you need and that you are enjoying yourself. The atmosphere looks a little bit like a sports bar yet it is still kid friendly. My favorite way to order is by phone when I am about 20 minutes away. My pizza is ready when I get there, we grab a seat and we get hot pizza without the wait! Don?t forget to check their website for the coupons they offer.

Pros: Come hungry leave happy and experience real pizza

Cons: needs a little more seating

Taste of home , Chicago that is.

by moeshe

I'm from Chicago and have tried most of the so called "best pizza joints" in Atlanta. Nancy's is what pizza tastes like if you were sitting and eating in downtown Chi-town. Sauce and sausage make the pizza; Try the thin crust cut in squares, which is the way to eat pizza.

Pros: Great Pizza, Fast service

Cons: Ambience is lacking, does not look like a pizza joint.

Super cheesy, super good

by eugeneclark

I am a 35 year old Chicago boy, born and raised. When I moved to Atlanta at 34, I tried many different types of pizza and Nancy's is the best. Super cheesy, super thick, super good. Parking is easy, right off Peachtree.

Pros: Thick pizza, loads of toppings, friendly wait staff.

Cons: Pricey
