I WAS REFERRED TO JAMES BY A FRIEND. AT FIRST I WAS EXCITED TO MEET HIM. MY FRIEND BOASTED ABOUT HOW GREAT HE WAS. THEN WHEN I WENT IN I WAS COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED! HE WASN'T VERY FRIENDLY AND DIDN'T LISTEN TO WHAT I WANTED. I WAS EXPECTING A LOT MORE. HE DIDN'T SPEAK TO ME AT ALL, AND I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE. AND FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I PAID I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING BETTER, I WILL GO BACK...JUST NOT TO HIM.

Since I am new to Houston, I am on citysearch quite frequently trying to find out where to go, what to do,etc. Well Thank You City Search Reviewers because if I hadn't listened to the past reviews about James I would have never found him! My husband said I haven't looked this good in 10 years! He cuts your hair to match your facial shape, and does this technique that paints on highlights so they look natural. I feel happy about my new look and now I look forward in fixing my hair!!!

I have been going to James for about 7 years and he is great!. His personality is great if you get to know him. No, he's not loud, annoying or flamboyant like the rest of the staff and that's a good thing!!! When I visit James, I don't have to worry about what I wear or if he will judge me when I walk in the door. He is extremely talented and professional. He is well trained and knowledgeble in both cutting and color. He also does a fabulous job with my extensions. Look nowhere else Ladies, James is your guy.

Ceron as it is now called is a very cold and unfriendly place. You would think for $175.00 hair cut you would at least get high quality customer service, perhaps a decent head massage with shampoo, offered something to drink, and most importantly get a fabulous hair style. Instead its a very cold place, not friendly, not welcoming. Your shampoo is bare minimum, you are left on your own, you have to ask for some water, dont think there is any other choice. James the man who is tattooed from head to toe cut my hair. He was not overly friendly, his personality was rather ' flat'. My hair cut was nothing exceptional, in fact when I got home I realized just how much I didnt like it. He made my short hair look choppy and I was very unhappy with my cut. What is wrong with this place? For the amount of money you spend they should greet you at the door, usher you in, offer you something interesting to drink, do a nice shampoo, have friendly stylist, and decent hair cuts. So I am still looking.

Absolutely the best service, style and atmosphere I have had in a long time. All I needed at this visit was a color and style and got all and more. It was well worth the money spent, I truly believe when it comes to your hair. You need to spend a little more, money and time investigating. It was worth. Go there, you will never go anywhere else again.!!!

OH MY GOSH, I look amazing! James has made me look 10 years younger and gave me a full head of hair. He is extremely talented and I never thought my hair could look this good. I came home after getting my extensions and my husband thought it was great. He loves my new look and I feel more confident and beautiful than ever!

I was referred to James by a close friend. I have extremely thin and have tried everything to give me some volume. Well, I found just what I was looking for. I know when some people think of extensions, they think that it will look fake but this is not the case. It looks so real and finally I can feel confident about my appearance. Thanks James for helping me!!

The place wasn't upscale at all and it seemed as if no one knew what they were doing. The service was terrible and lazy!! I wouldn't ever go here again and I don't reccomend anyone else going here. They say it's "expert styling" but there is nothing expert about it. I got a hair cut and color and it came out all wrong. I asked for blond highlights and it came out red! This was an absolutely awful place!11

JAMES IS A MAN OF TRUE TALENT, HE IS DOWN TO EARTH AND EASY TO TALK TO. HE LISTENED TO WHAT I WANTED, AND GAVE ME HIS HONEST OPINION. HIS CUT WAS EXACT AND HIS STYLE... DIVINE. THE SALON WAS CROWDED, PEOPLE WERE COMING AND GOING AS EXPECTED ON A SATURDAY. YET, THE SET UP OF THE SALON MADE IT FEEL SO ORGANIZED. AS I WAS GETTING SHAMPOOED, I NOTICED OTHER WOMEN GETTING COLOR, HIGHLITES, AND I EVEN SAW ONE LADY GETTING THOSE NEW EXTENSIONS PUT IN (MY NEXT INVESTMENT). AFTER JAMES I SAT DOWN TO GET MY EYEBROWS DONE WITH THE ENERGIZER BUNNY, (OTHERWISE KNOWN AS EDWARD SANCHEZ). WHAT A GREAT PERSONALITY, AND HIS EYE BROW THREADING WAS THE MOST INTERESTING SALON SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED. THE PRECISION WAS INCREDIBLE AND MY BROWS HAVE NEVER LOOKED BETTER. I WAS THRILLED TO SEE THEY OFFERED MANI'S AND PEDI'S AS WELL, TO BAD THE ONLY GIRL THEY HAVE WAS BOOKED!! AFTER MY NEW LOOK I WAS DIRECTED TOWARDS THE FRONT DESK WHERE I WAS CHECKED OUT BY THE SAME HELPFUL YOUNG LADY WHO GREETED ME WHEN I FIRST CAME IN. SHE ASKED ABOUT MY VISIT, AND OFFERED SOME GREAT KNOWLEDGE ON JOSE'S OWN PRODUCT LINE. MY VISIT CAME TO JUST UNDER $400. THE CUT $175, BROWS $35, 2 PRODUCTS AND TIPS.... A STEAL. I WALKED OUT LOOKING LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!!! I RATE JAMES AN A+, AND THE SALON AND STAFF, A 5 STAR RATING. KUDOS JOSE... YOU HAVE AN AMAZING TEAM.

My friend usually cuts my hair and she is fabulous! Unfortunately, she went to California and I was itching to get a haircut. I didn't want to go to just any hair salon so I looked through City search and found Jose Eber...there were a lot of good reviews about this place..especially about James so I went. I went and they had a lady name Ilya...(maybe I am spelling her name wrong) cut my hair, and she did a beautiful job! she was so nice to me and not snooty..i expected this place to be snooty but it wasn't at all..everyone was so nice. Ilya even stayed late for me:) that was very sweet especially that was my first time for me to go there.. I think I am going to make Jose Eber my happy place from now on!

I am a corporate trainer for an international company, and first met James on a business trip to Houston. Since I travel I frequently I visit City Search often to find the area hot spots. By the luck of the draw, James had a cancellation and he was able to squeeze me in. I have never received so many compliments on my hair cut and color...JAMES IS THE BEST!!! To make things even better, James has recently started working in LA once a month. So I can get James in 2 cities instead of 1. I visit Houston and LA at least 4 times a year, so I am looking forward to seeing James ALOT!!!

Parking is great!

The desk help try to do the least amount of work as possible, very normal for those types of positions.
They have nice voices, but no manners behind it.

My cut and color do not get the TLC that they did before the rates went up.

James needs to do more of the work, or charge a lower rate for the help to do everything for him, that is just bad business.
My hair use to be the envy of all when James did everything.
I miss those days!

Downfall:
You have to deal with all of the Old Fossils that are regulars there with their same old stuffy outdated "do's", and the old fashioned lack of grace that they carry around with them.
I like to relax, pretty hard when you have cranky old ladies EVERYWHERE.

Great place for the elderly and senior citizens.

Shampoo staff do an amazing scalp refexology!

James use to do younger, hipper hair, now I get old lady cuts, and come out looking exactly like everyone else.

James is not full of himself, which is refreshing.
He still treats his guests the same as he use to.
Very sweet!
Very Real!

God Bless James!
He needs to go out on his own, and open up an outfit that represents him better!
I will be the first in line!

Until then the search is on for a time filler hair dresser!

Be prepared to pay, but it's worth it. You know what you'll get and you come out looking and feeling great. The reception staff couldn't be nicer.

I've been to the Jose Eber salon on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, but since my marriage, I have been here in Houston. I was pleasantly srprised to find this salon in the Uptown Park area, close to other places I frequent. So, after a day of shopping at Runway, I enjoyed a cut, color and style. I received excellent treatment and will return. I'm very impressed, and my husband says I look "divine"!

I just want to agree with the others who have given James top ratings. I have followed him through 4 salons because his cut and color are the best I've ever found. He also is a very nice and unpretentious person. The people at Jose' Eber have always been very welcoming and attentive, as you would expect in a top salon.

I've visited James many times and absolute LOVE his cuts, styles, and color. Unfortunately, I've had enough and looking elsewhere because of the attitude and unfriendliness of the Salon Staff. They've not contact me when an appointment needed to be rescheduled, not too eager to help locate an available appointment time, the attitude and arrogant mannerism is simply not worth the effort. In person, they "act" sweet as punch, on the phone - you feel as if you are distrubing their day...
Even the people I've referred to him are having similar issues. It's sad for such a great talent to be surrounded by this type of environment.

This Salon is in a league of its own! I would like to share my experience with all city search members. As you drive in the parking lot, there is complementary valet parking. It was raining the day I went to have my hair done so this was very convenient. It was such a pleasure to be in James' presence. He was professional, as most people have commented. He actually listened to what I wanted. For once, I actually got what I paid for!!!! Thanks James. I really enjoyed my experience.

I cannot believe this salon. It is gorgeous and James is awesome. I called to schedule an appointment and they are so pleasant. I went to my appointment and could not believe how beautiful this place is. I thought my ticket would be extremely expensive, but for what I received.......... It was worth every dollar!!!!!! Now I see why people visit high end salons. The value is so much better. The staff (James) is highly trained and the service is what you expect. Now I see, you definitely pay for what you get!!!!! My boyfriend loved it and people stop me to ask where I get my hair done.

I am soooooo happy that I listened to the city search readers because James is the guy for hair! Jose' Eber Salon is absolutely the most beautiful salon in Houston. James is very professional, talented, and honest. His haircut took 10 years off of me!! My husband has never complemented me on my hair until I had it done by James. Thank you James for reinventing me!!!!!!

I am really excited that James has left Sensia and now with Jose' Eber. Jose' Eber will open on Tuesday January 24th and I have already called for an appointment. He is definitely Houston's best kept secret.
