The fastest growing IVF center in North Carolina ( based on new infertilty prescriptions written)
My husband and I moved from Boston to Raleigh and wanted to expand our family. We went through IVF with our first child in Boston and had a good experience, but the care we received at Carolina Conceptions was Outstanding! The nurses, doctors, front office, and lab personnel were all cheering us on. They would go out of their way to say hello and ask if we had any questions. Dr. Meyer was readily available in person via phone or email to answer my questions. The nurses responded to each of my many calls! I was so nervous the day of our egg retrieval, but the outstanding care and hugs that we received will always be a part of my experience there! They truly go the extra mile and provide personalized care. This is far different from most IVF centers!

This is a tremendous place. I am going through treatment at Conceptions. I ended up doing Bravelle shots and timed intercourse. All the doctors were terrific. I had already done clomid by the time I had my first consult so all the choices were explained to me. Blue Cross would not cover inseminations so we cant do. My physician explained to me the benefits and risk of trying Femara, Bravelle with and without IUI> the costs were well outlined by a counselor. I had a nurse for one ultrasound and the doctor for two of them. My estrogen was drawn there in lab and all my questions were answered. Unfortunately my first cycle did not work but my doctor called me and he made a suggestion on how to improve the chances. I know that at best the chances are only one in ten per month, but from looking on internet, this is what is usually seen in most clinics. I will do for three total cycles and then if not pregnant, regroup, and consider using their IVF program which seems really good, or take a break for several months. The process is discouraging but my care couldnt be better.

I was a patient at CC for nearly one year. After 2 cycles of injectable meds followed by 3 cycles of IUI, we decided to seek treatment elsewhere. We did this not because we were not successful but because we felt like we were not being taken care of. During those 3 IUI attempts, I did not speak to a doctor at all, except when Dr.Park called to tell me my pregnancy test was negative. The nurse did the ultrasounds, inseminations and blood draws. I was a patient of Dr.Couchman's but I we saw her only a couple of times. We were never given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss our treatment cycle with any of the doctors. With IUI, timing is everything and they never asked any questions of us to determine if there were any adjustments that needed to be made to our treatment regimen. We recently switched to UNC Fertility and have been happy so far. Carolina Conceptions seems to be in the business of making money rather than actually caring. This was really disappointing as Dr.Couchman and Carolina Conceptions came highly recommended to us by a family member and my OB-GYN. I would never consider seeking treatment there.

Dr Cooper recommended Carolina Conceptions. I had real bad PCO and we got pregnant with IVF since insemination did not work. They were great. we had a nursing teaching class and did all but the egg retrieval on one visit.

We come from out of state as we have had friends rave about the personalized care and both have gotten pregnant, one with insemination and the other did IVF. We are very pleased

If you live in the Triangle, may be even in North Carolina, based on their success rates and quality care, why go else where? I was drawn to their IVF success rates that now top the local competition

I have been a patient of CC for almost 2 years. After unsuccessful IUIs, we finally turned to IVF. Our second IVF was a success, and I am now happily and thankfully pregnant at age 39! It has been a long journey to reach this moment, but the doctors and staff at CC have been with me every step of the way. Dr. Couchman is my primary RE and she is absolutely wonderful. I have also been extremely pleased with Dr. Meyer, Dr. Park and the embryologist team. I've worked with just about everyone at CC, and they're all very professional and highly skilled. Forever grateful to CC, I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I am 40 years old, with a history of cysts and two Endometrial Polyps that both had to be surgically removed. My husband was completely fine. I tried for seven years (though I did punk out for one full year) to get pregnant with no luck. I went thru hormone supplements, and tried Clomid for a year. I tried herbal supplements and acupuncture (not through Carolina Conceptions) and all were unsuccessful. My body was put through all possible systems of therapies for natural conception and none of them were successful for me. A little over three years ago, I was referred to Dr. Bill Meyer by my primary care physician. Dr. Meyer and the Carolina Conception Team will forever be considered not only my fertility specialists but members of my family as well. Dr. Meyers first approach was to conduct a battery of tests to determine the best course of action and to assess all obstacles that prevented me from naturally conceiving. He proposed IVF as a viable option. What I especially appreciated about Dr. Meyers approach was his candid and straight forward delivery and his clear expectation that we are a team throughout this process. Basically, I would have to do my part and he promised to do his. One memory that I am always present to, was when I just stopped going to Dr. Meyer for one full year. I told myself that this was just too hard, but the truth was I was just not willing to do the work necessary or to be patient. When I returned, I was greeted by familiar faces (which speaks to the staff retention), great big hugs and a compassionate conversation with Dr. Meyer. He just looked me in my eyes and said, are you okay and are you ready to get back to work.
Lets address knowledge and success at Carolina Conception based on my stats. A woman of my age, with my medical history, and egg transfer ration has a 1 in an 8000 chance of getting pregnant. Well here I am, 16 weeks pregnant with quads. So to couples who are looking for a facility that will make it happen. . .you have found it at Carolina Conceptions. You bring your faith or what ever empowers and drives you to think and feel encouraged. They will bring overwhelming scientific knowledge, medical expertise, straight forward communication, a proven process that works, and a team of staff members who operate from a space of not just this is my job but this is where I want to be. You will choose whatever facility you choose, but if my 1 in an 8000 chance miracle could speak, all four of them would tell you to choose the best, Carolina Conceptions.
I sincerely wish everyone the best of luck, strong endurance, and much success.

I was not an aggressive patient. I felt that if I had been an iui or in vitro patient, I would have been taken more serious by the staff/doctors. I guess my analogy is like a real estate agent: Who are you going to spend more time with? A buyer with a 3 million dollar budget or 200 thousand dollar budget. Nonetheless, I felt I was not given the time that other patients are given according to my nonaggressive treatment. I had a friend who felt she was at a used car dealership. She was told the only option was invitro. She got pregnant 2 months later naturally. ????

I can be a very difficult person and patient. Ask my husband, and now you can ask Carolina Conceptions. I probably taxed the heck out of Dr Meyer and his staff. But I must say that he/they responded to all of my questions promptly, honestly, and respectfully. Dr Meyer got his digs in that I was going a little overboard, but he did it in such a humorous way that I had to laugh and that just relaxed me. I never thought we would get pregnant and that probably contributed to my negative attitude. If they could deal with me, they can deal with most anyone. Now when I return to my ob next week she will see a different person than she remembered from before.

Communication is terrible, instructions are even worse, doctors are condescending and dismissive and staff seems as though they have guns to their heads that patients can't see. The right hand there doesn't even know there is a left hand. Two weeks into our drugs, they realized they forgot 2 major procedures that should have been done before drugs. Actual drugs don't match up to the list of drugs they give you and to top it all off after having over 10 perfect day 3, 8 cell, non fragmented embryos we went in for transfer day 5 and they sit us down and say, "oh, you didn't get the message to call us? Well none of your embryos made it, sorry, we've never seen this before, the only thing we can conclude is that your eggs are bad and we don't recommend trying again." We left in tears and heartbreak, and never even got a call or a note or anything afterwards.

We are doing donor IUI but since it didnt work at the last clinic I'm not sure it will work with Dr Couchman. So far it is much simpler and more user friendly. Plus scheduling has been easier. I am going to go to evening adoption seminar the end of September that they are having.

After researching and interviewing numerous fertility clinics in the state, out of state and we where open to fly back to Europe - we choose Carolina Conceptions because of the medical reputation of both doctors as leaders in the industry. We wanted only the best - and where excited they where in our area. A newly formed practice of these top doctors - formed with in the last three years - continued to impress us upon our first visit: from a warm reception area and treatment room (not hospital environments), to genuine staff, to a practice that progressively embraced alternative medicine (on sight acupuncture treatment rooms) THE RESULT - We are PREGNANT - after three years of infertility it is the most incredible feeling. Having looked back on the experience our confidence was always in our doctors and the team they built - the statistics prove themselves however the bonus was the accessibility, patience and genuine caring of the doctors and staff along the process - Thank you Carolina Conceptions!!!!

Infertility is such a stressful and unpleasant thing to go through in every way. The time, money, emotional stress, etc. BUT, at CC, they make the experience as pleasant as possible. scheduling appts is easy b/c they will call you back immediately if you leave a msg, I have never waited more than 15 mins for an appt (included the transfers) and as busy as the staff and doctors are, i felt like their only patient. Dr. Meyer has a witty sense of humor that lightens the mood even in the most stressful situations. Heather, the embryologist, is supportive and always available to answer to questions. Even if you have the most ridiculous question they have ever heard, they immediately respond and never make you feel stupid. I did the shared risk program and hopefully will not be getting any refund. i have had a positive test after doing the frozen transfer. I screwed up my medication for the first attempt to do the transfer but Dr. Meyer and Angela cxld the FET and immediately moved forward with a new plan of action. I feel like i could (and def do) ask the staff any question. Peace of our minds was the most important thing to us. and we had that through every step at CC.

I disagree with the bedside manner rap. Dr Meyer even called my husband at work because he knew I was upset with an ultrasound finding. He knew I get overly emotional. I ve found them very compassionate.

Two stars is a little harsh but I wouldn't say this place is satisfactory either. 2.5 I would say. Some of the staff is rude and one of the doctors is also lacking in bedside manner. Why go to a place where half the time you feel angry and dismissed depending on whom you have to deal with at each visit? There is not good coordination between the staff. No one answers the phone, it's rare to get someone when you hit the extension to make an appt., and you will often have to play phone tag or get the 3rd degree when you want to make an appt. One dr. will say one thing and then it's up to you to be proactive and recall what was said because the next person you see will be different & not know what is going on. For all the money patients give for these fertility treatments, this place should have consistent, coordinated quality service. Not sure if I would recommend this place to any friends. Supposedly they are very knowledgeable, but they need to improve some facets.

We had a whole hour to spend with the doctor. That didnt happen with the first place we visited. I made my wife leave the first place because of rudeness. Dr Shaban said this wouold be a better place and it was. They respect our privacy and have real compassion, not just trying to make money

The person handling insurance couldn't get in touch with my insurance company so she insisted that I would not be allowed to see my doctor until my insurance was verified. I had taken time off of work, drove 45 minutes to my appt., and brought my insurance card and medical records with me. I offered to pay for my visit up front with my credit card but was told that I'd have to reschedule.

The doctors were more than okay. Some days are busier than others but if I had questions the nurses or they would answer. I found the finance lady Jenn to be super nice and encouraging. And yes Dee is great. My phone messages were answered pretty promptly. I have recommended to two coworkers/friends who are now pregnant.

The doctors are okay. Dee at the desk is wonderful but the accountant is terrible. She makes you feel like you are doing a timeshare sale then she rushes you out of the office. I hate they turn off the phones after 3pm yet they stay in the office till 4.30. makes no sense. Not sure i would strongly recommend it to others.

Very approachable staff. Doctors are very accessible and do many of the ultrasounds. The nurses are helpful and teach great classes. Semen analysis turn around is a half day in my husband's case. The IVF experience was not as stressful as at the first clinc we went to. Dr Couchman and Meyer work well as a team. There personalities complement each other out well. Did not feel like I was a number. Heather in embryology lab kept me in tune with the progress of my embryos with phone calls every other day. We did embryo biopsy for chromosomes and it gaves us reassurance that the embryos transfered were likely not defective. And that is how it turned out, pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
