Reviews for Texas Pediatric Dentistry

Ratings_icons Great Office!

I was just reading over the reviews and can't help but to point out that "Adrienne D. Texas" sounds crazy. A life skills coach for your 7 year old... seriously??? Can't change dentists because it might upset your child... really? Sounds like you need that coach more than your son.

We use the office and don't have a problem. But then again, my girls want to go to the dentist because they know it's good for them. Just like shots and other "not so fun" stuff.

I take both my 3 year old and 6 year old to Dr. Brister and have done so for 2 years. The office staff is always accommodating and efficient. We have had only good experiences there and both kids love to go see the dentist! They love to watch the movies on the screens on the ceiling and pick out their flavor of toothpaste. Even when my son was very small and wasn't very cooperative in opening up, Dr. Brister was patient and kind.

Ratings_icons Easy Trip to the Dentist

TPD has been a good experience for my daughters. The dentist had a very easy personality and made it much more relaxing for my girls to 'see the dentist.'

Dr. Tim is the best pediatric dentist we've found...he's terrific with the kids and makes their appointments fun (even for my 2 year old!). All of the ladies in the office are amazing...we couldn't ask for anything better!

I have taken my two boys to Dr. Brister for 3 years now. At our last check up my 7 year old was uncooperative due to some new anxiety that I guess developed with age/intelligence. Turns out Dr. Brister had to hold him down to provide dental care. This took place after he asked me to leave the room as a consequence for my son being uncooperative.

Against my better judgment I returned today for another 6 month checkup. I had tried to work through this anxiety with my son, even hiring a life skills coach to help him be more successful. I worried changing the location/doctor might make things worse. On the doctor's website it states that parents are welcome to accompany their child to the exam area. Indeed, every visit before I had done so. Today, he wanted to see my son alone, and only begrudgingly agreed to let me accompany him. After I got my younger, more cooperative son settled with his hygienist I walked to the exam room to find the door closed. As I opened it, Dr. Brister jumped up and blocked my entry. He said, "We're gonna do this without you today, he's fine". I asked if I could just come in to show my son that I hadn't lied about coming in with him. He would not permit me to do so. When I began to explain the steps we had taken for success, he interrupted and rudely said, "I know this story, I know this story..." He then told me we needed to find another provider.

So unless your child is perfect and will quietly open his mouth for a dentist who doesn't have the time to care for patients and their individualities (what child doesn't have those?) I would wholeheartedly tell you to avoid Dr. Brister at all costs.
