Carpe Diem Private Preschool - Frisco

★★★★★
Any preschool can help a child learn letters, numbers, or shapes. At Carpe Diem, we help children learn how to learn. Our curriculum emerges from the child's interest and through experiential learning. We encourage every child to ask "why?" and discover the answers for themselves. Our programs also include character-building activities that teach the importance of fairness, integrity, and honesty. This approach inspires our students to think more creatively and develop problem-solving abilities.

When my wife and I were searching for schools for our daughter we did an exhaustive search. We were looking for a school that would provide an environment where children feel physically, socially, and emotionally safe to learn, grow, and explore ?? and we found it at Carpe Diem Private Preschool ??Frisco!
We had a daughter matriculate through Carpe Diem since she was 6 months old and could not be more pleased with the education she received, and yes I said education. Carpe Diem Private Preschool is so much more than a daycare; it is a school that starts the learning process as early as the infant class though sign language. Every activity and interaction with our daughter was a teachable moment and the teachers taught through fun, age-appropriate and engaging activities. Our daughter grew tremendously during her 5 years at Carpe Diem and was accepted to several select private schools in Dallas. The staff at Carpe Diem is very strong and the new Director has brought the school ahead. Everyone at the school has the kids' best interests at heart. It is well worth the investment in your child??s future and we are so glad we did!

Our son started at Carpe Diem when he was 4 months old, and is now 22 months old. When we started our search for a daycare facility for our first child, we quickly discovered there were lots of options in Frisco. We made a list, did some research, and took recommendations from friends we trusted. We narrowed it down to just two places that we were seriously considering. We toured both places a few times, and liked Carpe Diem better; however there was a wait list for the infant room. We don??t have any family locally, so we definitely could not take a chance on the wait list. So, we put in applications at both Carpe and the other place, and kept our fingers crossed that a spot would open up ?? and it did! While I was still on maternity leave, they called and said they had a spot for our son. We decided to tour both facilities once more, just to be sure (Carpe Diem was more expensive), and let me tell you? you see the world through very different eyes after having a baby, and the advantages at Carpe Diem were even more apparent.

The staff is wonderful. They love the children, and it shows. The children love them right back! I am always amazed at how many teachers know my child, even though they have never had him in their class. The director, Ms. Zlata, goes out of her way to build relationships with the children. Even Ms. Phyllis in the kitchen knows all of the children (and believe me, they all know Ms. Phyllis)! I love that the owner, Ms. Ashlee comes by and spends time on a regular basis, and that she knows all the children as well. My son is always excited to see her, and runs over with a big smile to get a hug. They have a dedicated full time music teacher and Spanish teacher, so it is part of the daily curriculum. They have the perfect balance of age appropriate curriculum, structured and unstructured play. Even the infant room has daily visits from the music teacher. All of the teachers are degreed in fields directly related to early childhood education. The teachers do a wonderful job of communicating with us, and we have one-on-one conferences on a regular basis.

In the infant room, they have a 3:1 ratio which is better than the state requirement. They have 9 babies and three teachers, and typically have an assistant teacher for most of the day as well. The infant room also has two separate crib rooms that are separated from the main infant room by half doors. The crib rooms are kept dark and they play ocean sounds, or the like. As you know, infants are always all on different schedules; this really helps the babies to be able to eat, sleep, and play on their own schedules without affecting each other too much.

The facility is very secure. You enter the facility into the lobby, and the directors?? offices are right next to the front door (watchful eyes). To pass through the door leading to the classrooms, you must enter your passcode and place your finger on the fingerprint scanner to unlock it. The hallways are wide and bright with natural light from the skylights, with classical music playing in the background. They have a library, computer room, music room, two activity rooms, and separated age appropriate outdoor play areas, so the children have several changes of scenery throughout the day. They even take the infants on buggy rides around the hallways. The play areas are fenced in (of course) and they face residential areas or open fields (not main thoroughfares).

I could go on and on, but I suppose this review is long enough! Carpe Diem is fabulous!

I get so very excited when talking about Carpe Diem Private Preschool! After having a nanny for 2 1/2 years and being totally against our children having to go anyone near a daycare type of environment until a certain age, we discovered Carpe Diem. By 2 1/2 our son was full of energy at home and needed desperately to burn energy, build social skills and grow academically. The main concern is that he be in a loving, caring environment. We literally visited every preschool in Frisco -there was no match to Carpe. Our son is still there and is now 4 in addition to our 2 year old daughter. Both absolutely love going daily! The staff is by far the cream o' the crop! All are a reflection of the owner who is extremely passionate about the school and the kids!

My daughter started at Carpe diem just two months ago. She recently turned 3 and we looked at several preschools in the area before deciding on Carpe Diem. When looking for a preschool for our daughter our focus was not only academics but her all round development. I am very happy with the extremely clean facility, nutritious food and caring and loving teachers. Although my daughter just started there, she has developed better as a kid and is growing into a beautiful big girl. She is more confident now in expressing her ideas and doing very well in her music, Spanish and computer classes along with her academics. We are very happy with the decision we made for our daughter and are happy to see that she already misses her school when she is at home. That speaks a lot!

We have been a part of the Carpe Diem family for over 5 years now and have 2 daughters enrolled there. Believe me when I say we have shopped around the entire daycare circuit and we are confident that there is no comparison. Our most important criteria when searching for a daycare were cleanliness of the facility, trustworthiness and warmth of the staff, and the level of care and education given to our children. I can assure you the facility is immaculate, the staff could not be more qualified or endearing, and the curriculum and care given to our children has been nothing short of amazing. Most of the teachers that were there 5 years ago are STILL there which is unheard of in the daycare industry. Our children are known by every teacher, not just their own. The food served is healthy AND our kids love it. The curriculum has produced 2 very smart daughters who learned through fun and creativity, allowing kids to still be kids. Our oldest daughter had an easy transition to Kindergarten and performed at or above the class for the entire year thanks to the preparation Carpe Diem gave her. The best testimonial of all is that our kids love going there everyday and talk about missing it when they are not there. You can't beat that.

When it comes to your kids you only want THE BEST and it was easy making that decesion. I have a 4 year old and a 10 month old that both attend Carpe Diem. (4 year old started when he was 1 ..10 month old started at 3 months) It was the Best decesion I have made for my kids. You will know the differance when you take a tour and meet the teachers. All the teachers know my sons by name. The Director as well as the Owner are very attune to whats going on and work to listen to the parents concerns. With music, spanish, computers, theater class my four year old is getting such a Great education as well as playing and having fun! It takes a team to raise a outstanding child and I thank God for Carpe Diem teachers for helping to raise my boys!

My daughter started at Carpe Diem when she was three months old. She will turn four years old in 2011 so I feel qualified to talk about all age levels. Carpe Diem is a loving environment and my daughter knows all the teachers in the school by name. The teachers have taught my daughter everything from how to use sign language, how to walk, how to use the potty, how to share with her friends, and how to say and write her ABCs. I selected Carpe Diem because of the excellent educational curriculum and the wealth of programs from daily Spanish and music class to the optional ballet and gymnastic classes. Four years later, it was the best decision that I made. She is an articulate and confident little girl who is well prepared for kindergarten.

Being new to the area, it was very important to our family to find a private preschool that cared for of our daughter the same way we do. I can not begin to tell you how thrilled we are to have found Carpe Diem. From the moment our daughter started her room, she began to speak and interact at an advanced pace. I feel so grateful and thankful to the caring teachers and staff for all of their support thus far. Definitely a "world class" private preschool, with the ease of mind knowing you made the right choice.

My husband, 2 year old and I LOVE Carpe Diem! The teachers are great! The staff is wonderful! During the day, I know my son is learning, playing (with a purpose), and having fun (learning much needed social skills) with his friends.

We did a lot of research when looking at schools for my three year old and we knew right away that Carpe Diem was it! The staff has become like family to us and our kids love to go to school every day. It is the best feeling as a parent to go to work every day and know that your children are in the hands of people who love them as much as you do! We love Carpe Diem and cannot say enough great things about the program, staff and facility!

Carpe Diem is the best! After looking at many, many schools in the North Dallas area, we just felt at home with the staff at Carpe Diem. We have a three year and one year old and love every single one of the staff members. Whether it is Ms Carrie in Music or Ms Phyllis in the kitchen to Ms Karen in 108, the compassion and dedication to the bright future of my children. The development of both children has been amazing and they love to go to school. We think that says volumes about the school, staff and program!

I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people to find the best school for my child. Carpe Diem just felt right. They have educated teachers, safer protection guidelines, and very helpful feedback, plus a more experiential learning to help the development of children. They seem to really love my child and accept her for who she is. I love hearing all the funny things she does while she is there. We feel so welcomed there!

Carpe Diem is a WONDERFUL school and definitely the top in Frisco. I have had 2 children attend there and I could not be more impressed with the teachers, curriculum, cleanliness, and overall attitude of all the staff there. It is wonderful to have all food provided and not have to worry about packing lunches. It also gives the kids a chance to try a wider variety of foods! The Pre-K program is especially impressive. My child went to Kindergarten VERY prepared and set up to be successful in Elementary and have a love for learning and for school set up by Carpe Diem. I highly recommend this school!

My three year old son has been attending Carpe Diem since he was 1 years old. Since he has been at the school, he has become very independent in his thinking and in his behavior. He is learning how to relate what he learns in class to his everyday experiences and observations. For example, in his class they did an art project of Beethoven. The project required him to sponge paint Beethoven??s hair on construction paper. He came home telling me his Auntie Stacy has big hair like Beethoven. My proudest moment of his independence just happened recently. He woke up at 4 am and went to potty all by himself. He didn??t come to my room at all. When he was done, he climbed into his bed and went back to sleep. I said to myself, ??My baby is growing up.?
Carpe Diem has indeed played a major role in helping us raise an independent child.

We love Carpe Diem! When we moved to Frisco a year ago, we went in search of a pre-school for our infant and older toddler. What we found was a place where our two girls not only learned alot, but were loved by the teachers and staff. My now three year old is high spirited, and they were able to take that energy and turn it into a very positive trait. We love that she now is more self disiplined and can play with the other children better. She loves her computer and music classes and we love that we can watch her via the web-cam in all of her classes and know that she is having fun and being cared for in a manner that we feel good about

We love Carpe Diem! Our three year old daughter has grown so much since attending. She not only comes home telling us all of the wonderful things she has learned (from Spanish class to computer class to music class), but also all of the wonderful relationships she has. She is high spirited, but the teachers there work with her to channel that energy into very positive learnings. We love Ms Stephanie and Ms Megan and could not have hand-picked better teachers. And the Assistant Director, Ms Amy has gone out of her way to answer any questions or concerns that I have had. They all seem to love each child and care for them as if they were their own!

Our daughter attended another preschool in Frisco and we were not pleased with their teaching methods or the friendliness of the staff. One of our neighbors recommended that we tour Carpe Diem. We felt comfortable as soon as we walked in the door and so did our daughter.

The kids have centers, music, Spanish and computers every day. Our daughter is learning in an environment that she thinks is so much fun! Her teachers are always attentive and communicate well with us regarding how she did each day.

We are so glad that we found this school!

We moved our daughter to Carpe Diem almost 2 years ago and have never looked back. Ater experiencing Carpe Diem we would never even consider another preschool. We even drive across town to get there! The teachers and staff at Carpe Diem are absolutely top notch and promote learning and growth in a calm, stable and nurturing environment. Not only is Spanish, Music and Computer tought each day, but manners, kindess and a strong appreciation for the world around them is promoted in everything the children do. We could not ask for anything more in a preschool!!

Carpe Diem has a fantastic childcare program. I have been at other childcare facilities and this program is the best. They offer many programs that others do not at an early age. Also, the teachers are of very high quality! My kids really enjoy school which sets a good foundation for life!

It would be impossible to list all the outstanding opportunities that Carpe Diem offers you for your family in only a few paragraphs, you can look that up on line. What you will not find on line is how much love and understanding your children will get at Carpe Diem in Frisco

We had our children enrolled in another program in Frisco before we came to Carpe; we were amazed at the turnover at this other school and the lack of accredited teachers on staff. Our daughter had three different teachers in a three month period due to turnover. We decided to take a tour of the Carpe Diem in Frisco as well as three other pre schools in our area. It took us less than three minutes to decide that Carpe was the right school for our two little ones. The number of teachers that had been with Carpe since the school opened was amazing and we are happy to say that three years later they are all still there. Our children still love to run into their old class rooms and see Ms. Inge from the two year old class, Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Megan in the three year old class and Ms. Bobbi and Ms. Peggy in the Pre K class. Our daughter moved on the kindergarten this year and the only thing she cried about is that she was not getting to go to Carpe anymore and it was not fair that her brother still got to go there. Of all the great thinks we experienced at Carpe having our child love her school so much that she wanted to stay rather than move on to a big girl school told us we made the right decision when we choose Carpe Diem.

If you are looking for a school that will help your child grow and learn we strongly recommend Carpe Diem. As our children move forward in life we will always know that we selected the best place for them to start.

Pros: Love and understanding

.

The teachers are great, and there is very little turnover, which provides consistency to the children. My son and daughter have learned a ton, and still have plenty of time for play - that's part of the curriculum. The staff is very approachable, and really care about my children. I researched A LOT of places and couldn't be happier with my decision.

i have a 2yo todler that attends CarpeDiem, she's been going there for a year now, and it's been a GREAT YEAR.
She had learned so much, from sign language to using her manners and more.
Teachers are really great, they really do pay attention to the kids, and kids love them.
There are a lot of private schools and day cares in Frisco, most of them much cheaper than CarpeDiem, but i don't think that you can find the piece of mind that CarpeDiem offeres...
When my daughter first went there last year, it was really hard for me, because i use to stay home w/her. I used to call CarpeDIem about 5 times a day...every hour or so, and i believe that was really annoying for the staff, but NEVER did they complained!!! Everytime i call, they would go in the room and check on the kid, on the top of that they have a webcams in each classroom, so parents can see what's going on with their kids anytime.

My wife and I learned the great news that we were expecting our first child, and it seemed that we were immediately reconnoitering daycare facilities. ??Um, honey? baby??s not going to be here for, what, another eight months? Isn??t it a bit too soon?? It turned out it wasn??t too soon, for we embarked on what turned out to be a long search for the perfect place for our baby. We slogged through many daycares, and soon all of them merged together in my mind. We saw a lot of nice places, but we didn??t feel absolutely right about any of them. And then we visited Carpe Diem.

James, the director, met with us and answered all of our questions ?? and we (OK, my wife) had a lot of questions! Then we took a tour of the school. The first thing we noticed was that, to our surprise, there were dozens of children there but not a single one was crying. Indeed, all of them were actively engaged in a meaningful activity led by the clearly hard-working staff. There were no children off in corners by themselves. Even the sleeping infants had staff members sitting next to them rubbing their backs.

Another thing that struck us about Carpe Diem was how clean everything is. I quipped to my wife, ??This place is so clean you could manufacture microchips in here!? We saw a child drop a plate of food on the ground. There was no scolding; one teacher simply helped the girl get a new plate of food while another instantly descended on the mess with towels and disinfectant.

There were lots of neat little perks that made Carpe Diem irresistable: a solid security system, a computer lab (seeing computers on the little desks still cracks me up!), great indoor and outdoor play areas, polite and helpful staff? the list goes on and on.

Dropping our first child off at daycare for the first time was, of course, difficult for us in all the predictable ways. But we are able to watch our baby on live webcams, and the teachers have been wonderful at keeping us apprised of his doings and coordinating things with us. The quality of the school has made transition to daycare relatively easy and almost (almost!) guilt-free! We couldn??t imagine leaving baby anywhere else, and we highly recommend Carpe Diem to anyone. Save yourselves the eight months of looking around!

My children have attended Carpe Diem since they were 12 weeks old (one is now 3). My husband and I never have to worry when they are at school - we know they are happy, safe, and learning more than they could learn at home with me! The teacher ratio is excellent, and the turnover is very low. The children only change classes on an annual basis, which allows them to develop excellent relationships with their teachers and friends. The curriculum is well-rounded, while still incorporating fun/free play into the children's daily schedule. My 3 year old rushes me out of the house some days because he wants to go see his teachers. In fact, he just put his teacher on his birthday party invite list and she was higher on the list than mom!
