I used to have some bad experiences their, but since I've started working with the young new manager there by the name of Davone my experience has been most enjoyable. He pays close attention to detail along with being solution oreinted not defensive and argumentative like employees of the past. I've noticed that the bad apples are mostly still together, but at other stores such as the mean old lady (I think I was told her name is Connie) and That other guy at the gesner and westheimer location. Talk about rude, overpricing/price gouging, and under delivering! Don't show up without your ticket around her...she will chastize you as if you where a child. Last time I checked My mom lives in Dallas. My wife told me about her wonderful experience with Davone at the chimney rock and westheimer location, so I tried the Houston Shoe Hospital again. I was skeptical, but this guy got it right the first time and I only go see him and him only. I'm sure that he trains his staff to operate as he does, but I would rather work with him since he management and customer service qualities are set to such a high standard for his profession. I've seen, as I waited in line for him, his issue resolution skills with not so happy customers and he is very professional and is a problem solver not a problem maker. I bring in all our shoes and handbags to him and I've also purchased some luggage and shoes (Briggs and Riley and Aldens). This store is a one stop shop that sells great merchandise. I started referring friends, family, and just about everyone I come in contact with and talk about shoes or customer service experiences with to Davone and His location. I hope the owners recognize this guy as a shining star within their company and promote him! If I was in charge of our hiring process I would definately try to bring Davone to our team :-)!!! Owners better watch out because I'm conviced that this guy is a true diamond in the rough. I hope this doesn't fall upon deaf ears.

Pros: The manager, Davone

Cons: Can't find one.

I wanted to let you know that I received my shoes today via FedEx. Both pairs look beautiful; you did exactly what you said, which was repair my shoes properly. That is all I wanted, and the shoes now look like what I'd originally expected. I also like the new soles you added. I tried on the shoes and my favourite pair (the two-tone pump) is just a bit tighter; I am assuming it is just the cleaning solution and the leather will stretch. Overall, the shoes look just perfect. Thanks again for following up with my complaint, I do appreciate it.

Ratings_icons THE place to repair your shoes in Houston

I've taken several of my expensive shoes - the likes of Gucci, Jimmy Choo, etc. - to Houston Shoe Hospital to be repaired and they've always done a great job of treating my shoes with care. They come back looking polished and beautiful and I've always been more than satisfied with the service received for the price I paid. The staff is very accomodating and have been helpful when ever I had any special requests. I would highly recommend Houston Shoe Hospital to anyone looking for shoe repair. They've been around forever, and that's obviously for a reason!

It has been my experience that the Houston Shoe Hospital does not "love shoes" as they claim to. Nor do they make your shoes look "as good as new" as I had been told. I took a beautiful pair of Isaac boots in for a new leather half sole, and was talked into replacing the heels as well. After paying them over 120 dollars for their services, I cried when I picked up my boots! They had cut the leather where they put on the new half sole, which was so thick that the leather pulled away from it without me even so much as putting them on. The heels looked nothing like the originals and appeared as though a child had colored them with a Magic Marker! The heels also were misaligned and upon lifting the insoles inside, I found nail heads protruding a good 1/4 of an inch! It's a good thing I didn't dare wear them looking as poorly as they did. I cried my eyes out and contacted the manager on multiple occasions regarding the poor customer service. They refused to refund me my money and told me that wasn't the way they do business. If you truly want your shoes to look like new again, I would NOT recommend the Houston Shoe Hospital. I paid another 120 dollars to a reputable place in the Rice Village area and was fortunate enough to have my boots saved. I will NEVER return to the Houston Shoe Hospital.

Pros: NONE!

Cons: I honestly have nothing good to share about my experience with this merchant.
