Living in the neighborhood for 3 years I have dined here many times, often on Monday for the half off sushi, because the prices are a bit inflated.

Unfortunately I have yet to have one good experience with any of the waitstaff, one female

I started driving from the southside to AB back in early 2006. I can say that there are only a few other places that have better sushi. However, for the price you pay & the great service that I always receive I will still continue to

I thought Aqua was a really cool looking restaurant. Sushi was good and fresh. I drove by there this evening and noticed that they now have outside seating and they had a live band playing some tunes.

Passing through Atlanta, GA on a Monday (June 8, 2009) - we ate here late night after a Brave's game. The restaurant was conviently open until 11:00, and had half off sushi as it was Monday! Dim room with bright neon lights created a modern, hip atmosphere.

The sushi was definitely worth it, it was not too extravagant but matched the price of around ~$12-15 for 6-8 rolls (not including the half off). Although I am usually one to actually stay away from California Rolls because I like the more raw sushi, the most memorable was a California Roll dipped in Tempura and Fried. The Crunchy Crunchy Roll (my boyfriend enjoys crunchier sushi) was not very crunchy at all and was the bigger food disappointment.

The service was slower paced, as the night was dying down and the waitresses were getting restless to leave. It could have definitely been better but not bad enough to complain about. As many sushi restaurants have, there was a glass table where people could watch the chefs make the sushi.

Quirks: The bathroom was down a long hallway with a TV projected on the mirror - the sounds of the TV definitely startled me as I thought someone was following me into the bathroom! We also saw the waitresses take shots at around 10:30 PM.

To the previous poster, is it necessary to curse and take personal what someone else posted? Get over yourself and let otheres voice their opinion and experience without being so ghosh darn sensitive and ugly (unless you are the owenr and/or work there - but still...)!

I went there for lunch and though the service wasn't too great, the food was delicious. I don't like sushi and found many other great things to choose from. I left there telling all of my friends about the place. I highly recommend for great food, not service.

Pros: very good menu selection, especially for non-sushi eaters

Cons: server wasn't too friendly or personable, was just THERE

I just had lunch at AB, and ordered the sushi 'special' for $8.25 which consisted of 9 microscopic maki rolls. No soup, no salad, just 9 small pinky finger size rolls which normally would have cost at the most $6 at any other mediocre sushi establishment. I am not one to complain, but their sushi lunch prices are incredibly overpriced and you are much better off anywhere else; Whole Foods sushi is better quality and less pricey.

if you specifically need pan-asian cuisine to satisfy everyone in your group (i.e., you need a place that has chinese, thai, korean, etc.), then feel free to go here. there is certainly a wide variety of food. however, if you're looking for real good food at a decent price and don't mind going to a single cuisine restaurant, then DON'T go here! the food is decent but overpriced. that's the price you pay for pan-whatever cuisine--they do it all but not well. instead, if you want korean bbq, go to hae woon dae or if you want thai food, go to surin (or pick your other fav spots). the "korean bbq beef" for $17 was not kalbi style as you would expect but bulgogi. come on, i could go to buford highway and get that AND get spicy tofu soup for $9 and have it taste much better.

i also had the spicy tuna roll, too much sweet sauce on top and too much pasty rice. didn't have any real sushi but if it was of similar caliber then i can't imagine it's the "best sushi in buckhead."

i also had the spicy seafood which was decent. too many onions and bell peppers but pretty good taste. not worth $19 though.

on a plus side, it is a pretty cool looking hangout/ambience and i will admit with others that the fire cracker salmon roll was one thing there that was worth it. very tasty and probably the best thing i ate there that day.

I found this venue through restaurant dot com, where I purchased a $25 gift card to Aqua Bistro for only $5, with a minimum purchase of $35. That was a good enough incentive to check it out. When we got there, we found the valet was not there, but there was free 2-hour parking in the condo parking deck around the corner.

The restaurant itself was nice and clean, with modern Ikea-inspired designs. There is small seating area outside as well. We ordered 3 different sushi rolls and an appetizer. As other reviews noted, the food WAS indeed delicious. The pieces of fish were large and lean. For dessert, we had coconut fried ice cream, which was also fantastic.

The only downside was the service. There was only one server running around between the indoor and outdoor areas. The hostess/manager was also waiting on tables. Both seemed to be too rushed/indifferent to notice empty glasses at our table. Ironically, there were more people working at the bar, where only TWO patrons were seated. A whopping 18% gratuity was included in the bill while the service was well below average. After all, where is the incentive to earn it?

I recommend this place for the food and the drink specials only.

This place is my favorite! They have great specials during the week. Comfortable atmosphere at a fair price (contrary to most Buckhead sushi places). The service could use a bit of improvement, but not horrible. Definitely recommend it!

This is a great spot for good sushi, good drinks, and good atmosphere. We venture to Aqua Bistro almost every week. We love that we never have to wait long for a table. The wait staff is always very friendly, and there are good deals during the week. This is definitely a gem in buckhead these days!

my bff & i were craving sushi on a Monday night..so we decided to check out Aqua because we had seen it on the web before..i would say it was an overall good experience..the Sushi was better than average and our server was very nice & friendly..((the inetrior decor is awesome)) after 2 rolls of great sushi, great tempura and noodles, my friend and i were stuffed..oh and we had a bottle of pinot gris too..we assumed the tab would be a little high; to our surprise it was incredibly cheap - thats always a plus-...as we walked out we noticed on every night there is a 1/2 off special, which makes it even better; the ambience, cool, and the music hip and relaxed!!

I've heard great things about the place and finally, I was able to experience it for myself. The food was great and there is an extensive menu. I went with a friend and in all, we were able to try 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 different sushi plates and 2 different wines...$10 bottles to be exact. That's always a plus. Our waiter was very patient with us, as we were very indecisive. The food came out quick. I will definitely be returning...especially for the Korean BBQ-which is a little different than if you went to a Korean restaurant, but my goodness was it delicious anyway. The prices and portions are very nice.

Well the first thing I noticed when we sat down was that it took FOREVER for someone to come serve us. By the time the waiter finally came over, we already knew what we wanted (had plenty of time to look at the menu). Then he says "let me go get you some water" and we had to wait forever AGAIN. So finally we give him our order, and instead of going right over to give our order, he ran around serving others, cleaning...it was almost as if he was working the other side of the room when he should have been working our side. Anyway, my friend hand a Mango Mojito that tasted like...NOTHING, although my Aqua Bikini and wine was delicious. The potstickers looked like something I could make, on top of fresh express shredded lettuce! Not impressed. Finally, after much waiting, we received our sushi. MAN was it delicious! So after receiving delicious sushi, we ordered a dessert, the Cocconut Fried Ice Cream. Me and a friend shared, and can I say, it was ORGASMIC...delicious! The buy-two-get-two-free Saki Bomb special closed our dinner out.

All that is to say, the sushi, dessert and SOME of the drinks were superb. Work on their customer service and speed, and this would be a wonderful place to frequent!

I dine here one day this week and sat at the bar and the bartender was clueless about everything, and I mean everything from the sushi menu to how to make a martini, I mean how did this person get this job! Over all I was not at all impressed with this place because all the employees walk around like they have lost their minds or something. Just thought I share this little piece of information with the owner(s). If you care about your place of business then you would change what consumer's are thinking about your establishment!

I ate here a few weeks ago and was completely underwhelmed. I eat a lot of sushi in Atlanta, and this definitely ranks towards the bottom. My tuna nigiri was not fresh at all. In fact, it was pretty much brown. Then, they drowned my spicy tuna roll in a sickly sweet brown sauce (teriyaki?). This place is all flash. Further, the decor looks cheap and slapped together. There are definitely better places to get sushi in Buckhead.

When my friends and I went there last Thursday, we didn't know if it was a bar or a club or what, but it's a great restaurant and hang out spot for the 25 and up crowd. This is a place that is not for kids though so I don't know why they say that it is.
This restaurant has the best sushi ever! My friend hates raw sushi and they had a great selection of cooked rolls, as well as good wok dishes. The Hawaii five-O is grrrreeaat. My server Rashawn was very patient with us because we did not know what to get. She was very good we never had to ask her for anything and everything she suggested was ver, very delicious. This place is to go and have fun with friends or your boyfriend. The atmosphere is catchy we saw two couples smooching in the corners.

And every wednesday is $3 cocktail. And Thursdays are $10 bottles of wine. I will be returning

I have been to Aqua Bistro about five times now and I can honestly say that it is the hippest sushi bar in Atlanta. The food is very good, especially the avocado spring rolls and the mango macademia nut chicken and the price is fair. Parking is very accessible with complimentary valet at The Eclipse Condos or free two hour self parking. If you feel like bar hopping after dinner, Aqua Bistro is conveniently located within minutes of all the Buckhead bars. The DJ on Friday night is awesome and as a whole Aqua bistro is probably the best kept secret in Atlanta.

Aqua Bistro has become my fav lunch spot. Everything on the lunch menu is currently 5.00! (9/27)
One note: do not park on the street next to the building, park in the Eclipes garage. Cost me 25.00 :-(
Oh, one more note, ask for brown rice sushi! Its great!

CC and I, as we do, slid in last Thursday for a quick bite and we pleseantly surprised. First, the menu was huge by comparison to some of the places we've been where we'd only have five or six selections. Then the $10 wine special came with a free appitiezer (so we ended up with two). Then the food was actually good! The spot was smaller than I imagined, and a little more stark than I would have liked, but it had a good feel to it. Our server was gracious if a little lost at times, but was fun and suggestive. Not the best, but not bad. If you're looking for something a little different..it should be on your list.

I've yet to actually visit the restaurant but have ordered in on several occasions and must say that Aqua Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The delivery menu has lots to offer. The sushi is fresh and quite tasty and the pad thai is delicious and not too greasy. The appetizers are great, especially the shrimp shu mai and my favorite, the fire cracker salmon rolls. If it's ever a rainy night and you're craving excellent pan-Asian food, pick up the phone and call Aqua Bistro. The delivery service is quick. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this place. Enjoy!

I have tried this Buckhead newcomer a couple of times now, and have been very impressed on each trip. The menu is well put together, and the quality of ingredients and portion sizes are great. On Wednesday nights, the restaurant is offering one dollar martinis, in several flavors.
Restaurant has a great atmosphere following a serious renovation. Friendly, timely service is a plus, and the barstools are the most comfortable I have ever tried. Highly recommended.

I have eaten lunch at Aqua Bistro a couple of times and have been very pleased overall. The atmosphere is upscale and hip - it looks like a great night spot. The food is good, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The dumplings are a must!
