While I feel some dishes were overly complex and they substitute jalepeos for wasabi, Jinsei has the best tasting sushi in birmingham.

Unfortunately, if you want to eat a meal you should expect to spend $60/per person. For perspective, it would not be unusual to spend $10 for the amount of food in a granola bar.

FYI, they have a 7pg alcohol menu, and a 3pg food menu.

But if money is no object, I highly recommend it.

Pros: Quality Sushi

Cons: Value

If you are a bargain sushi hunter, looking for cheap low grade dog food and 2 for 1 happy hour, then you need to head elswhere. You should know you get what you pay for if you go that route. After trying almost every sushi bar in town, served by everyone but a Japanese Sushi Chef, I finally found a restaurant worthy of being among the best I have dined at in Los Angeles. While it is pricey for the "ham" it is the only place not serving ham and I'll gratefully pay for the great service, swanky adult atmosphere, and the best sushi in town. Everything on the menu is excellent! Bravo, but I am sure that it is only a matter of time before B'ham chases away the only good sushi joint in town.

Pros: Almost impossible to find a bad moment of dining experience

Cons: Pricey for the average joe

With its dark interior and splashes of color, Jinsei is an intimate jewel box of a restaurant. The signature sushi roll is Kadoma tuna, pleasing to both the palate and the eye. The eponymous special roll is all silky texture with…
