So bad I actually wrote a review 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I'm lazy... very lazy. So lazy I just shared a napkin with my boyfriend to eat some of the worst food I have ever had rather than get up. But this food was so bad I had to write a review. I was going to get a frozen pizza, but instead I decided to splurge and order a calzone and salad from Southside Flying Pizza. It was THE WORST FOOD ever!!!! I have had several frozen and/or mall pizzas better than this. The sauce was watery, the dough was chewy, the spinach was completely unseasoned, and the caesar salad dressing was translucent and tasteless. To top it off it was almost an hour late. Sigh... never again, never again.

Pros: local
Cons: bad service, bad flavor, poor execution

Best pizza in town. Everybody claims it, but they deliver! 5 Star Rating - World class

I consider myself a bit of a pizza expert. I am not a snob though. Sometimes a frozen Tombstone or Pizza Hut hits the spot. When I am really jonesing for quality though, I have to have Southside. I used to live on the south side of town and it's the one thing I miss the most. It is by far the best pizza in town. Yummy brick oven flavor, great ingredients and the service is always quick and friendly too. No stuck up 04's here!

I live on the north side of town now, but every time I am in the area I have to go to Southside. Great prices, great service, and even better pizza.

Pros: Great pizza, great service, cool old-school NY pizzeria environment
Cons: There isn't one in my neighborhood!

Decent Food, sub par service 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I hate to be someone who gives a below average review to a small restaurant, because I appreciate the little guy, but my past two experiences with SouthSide have left a horrible taste in my mouth. My dad was in two weekends ago visiting and wanted pizza, I thought that he would like SouthSide because I have had pretty good food from there in the past, and lets face it the pizza in Austin for the most part leaves a lot to be desired. I called to place an order and was put on hold for quite a while. My wife was out and was in the area, so she went and picked up the food, when she got home, is when everthing went wrong. I had ordered the soup of the day, which I was told was tomato bisque, one of our favorites, when my wife got home we had beef stew or something of the sorts. We had also ordered a calzone and were not given the dipping sauce. Normally I would have bit my upper lip and just eaten the food, but my last experience was the same, except when I first called and asked for the soup of the day, the girl answering the phone, slammed it down in my ear, upon calling back, I never received an apology. Our order was wrong, and I did not know that until I got home. So, this time I was bound and determined to get good serivce, so I called back, the girl taking the calls, took down my name, address, phone number, and after speaking with the manager prommised me that someone would be delivering the right soup and the dipping sauce. NO CALL, NO DELIVERY, NOTHING. We sat and waited for the delivery, and ended up waiting and waiting. I know that a lot of people in this town are foodies and into food, and I am one of them, but when situations like this take place, the managers and the owners of these establishments need to make sure that they get these mistakes right, or else SouthSide will become yet another failed food venture in Austin.

Pros: Not Chain Food
Cons: Bad Location, No delivery, Horrible Service,

Never a problem in store purchase, delivery is less than accurate, and less than timely. 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I have been a patron of Southside for the last 2 years, and have always enjoyed the food and recommended to friends...until recently. Two out of the last three times that I called for delivery, it was either late or the order was not correct. The third time, was the "free" pizza I received in compensation for the 2 hour late pizza ( I live at Congress and Woodward, approximatley a 5 minute drive)!!
To be fair, when eating in the restaurant, I have had no unpleasant experiences, but the delivery should be examined closely by the owners or those in charge of the business.
Tonight was the end of it for me, I love the spinach artichoke dip, but will be destined to the fate of Kramer on Seinfeld, sending someone else in to buy it for me now, very sad.
I called in and placed the order (repeated 3 times) with a congenial girl on the other end of the phone. Pepperoni, and jalepeno with pineapple on 1/2, 2 salads, and the spinach artichoke dip. The order arrived in less than the quoted 1 hour, so we dug into the salads, putting the pie in the oven on low. Hour or so later, finally got to the pizza, and my co-diner, and I were quick to find out...NO PEPPERONI!! I immediately called back, and was told by "Amanda" that they would give me a free pizza!, nice but no pepperoni?? Then she proceeded to tell me that the buttons on the computer were very close together, and that is probably where the error occurred. Did I fall off the turnip truck yesterday, or learn the computer from Sears & Roebuck. Anyways, long story short, I will not be calling this establishment anymore for anything. Sure am gonna miss the dip.

Pros: tasty, fresh product
Cons: poor customer service/professionalism
