    Pet Wellness Services

Prevention is the key to your pet’s long-term good health. This approach also minimizes the lifetime cost of care. We recommend routine wellness exams, vaccinations, regular laboratory work, deworming and fecal checks; as well as medication to prevent heartworm, fleas, and ticks.

      Health Maintenance Services

These services should be routine for your pet. We send out reminders to our patients when it is close to the date your dog/cat needs its vaccines. We encourage all our first time pet owners to educate themselves on the importance on keeping your pet up to date on their microchip information, training, and other ongoing services and activities.

        Diagnostic Services

          Surgery

We are trained, skilled and experienced veterinary surgeons. We approach this aspect of our profession with a deep sense of compassion for all animals.

            Dental Care

Why wait until February and August for those dental specials? Enjoy this dental special all year, no waiting and no hassle. Our goal is to give your pet the best service possible all year round

              Emergency Services

When to Seek Emergency Veterinary Care The easiest answer as to whether you should seek emergency care for a pet is when you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait.

Took my cat in because she was acting lethargic. Vet ordered bloodwork. After it came back normal, then tried to order xrays (said it was probably a broken pelvis). Couldn't believe it since she was jumping around. Vet closer to our house said it was an abscess on the tail. What kind of vet can't tell the difference between an abscess on the tail and a broken pelvis? I guess they were running behind quota that month.

My 9 1/2 year old dog, Zoom, has been seeing Dr. Partridge and Dr. Landers for years. I love the way they and the staff relate to my dog and take their time with him, not rushing or forcing anything.

Everyone is very knowledgeable yet easy to understand. Love the fact that they do an ultrasound on my boy's insides once each year to catch any problems before they get out of control.

Over the past 20 years I have been to many vets but this place is the BEST! Specifically, Dr. Partridge is just the most phenomenal Vet. He really takes the time to explain things to you and not in terms that you cannot understand. He has a great bedside manner and my nervous dog never once even growled at him. He doesn't overcharge for unnecessary things. I am just SO thrilled to find him. His staff is amazing too. Amber and Darcy are just so sweet and helpful and even thye doctor will call you with any concerns about meds or treatment. I could not recommend this hospital more for your every day pet needs!

                Message from Partridge Animal Hospital

Dr. Harvey Partridge built the St.Petersburg veterinary hospital in 1978, and in 1995, he sold the practice to a corporation of veterinary hospitals named VCA (Veterinary Centers of America). Dr. Partridge left the practice in 2003. Dr. David Landers began working at Partridge Animal Hospital in St. Petersburg in 2007, and he purchased the practice from Dr. Partridge in 2010. We are a full service veterinary medical facility, and see mostly dogs and cats with the occasional pocket pet and rabbit. The doctors enjoy working up challenging cases by utilizing the digital x-ray, ultrasound, brand new in-house lab machines, and endoscopy to come up with a diagnosis and then figure out the best way to treat it. Our veterinary hospital is committed to providing excellent preventative health care of our patients.

At Partridge Animal Hospital we offer a variety of services and care for your animals. We recommend everyone bring their furry friend in at least once a year for our Veterinary Wellness Care Exam. Here we do several things to ensure your pet is in great health:

Examine your pet’s teeth, throat, and oral cavity

Check your pet’s vision and examine the eyes

Examine the ears for infection, ear mites, allergic reaction and other related health issues

                Examine the respiratory system

                Assess your pet’s heart

                Test your pet’s reflexes

                Palpate lymph nodes and abdomen

                Inspect the skin

Palpate joints and muscles for arthritis and other orthopedic conditions

Test to evaluate the function of internal organs, blood, and other systems

Other services we offer include: Parasite Control, Heartworm and Tick Borne Disease Prevention, Vaccinations, Microchipping, Nutrition Counseling, Prescription Diets, Grief Counseling, Surgery, Digital Radiology, Veterinary Ultrasound, Internal Medicine, and Pet Dental Care.

We also have our own In-House Laboratory. Laboratory testing gives us an opportunity to to assess the overall systemic health of your pet. This is why we maintain an in-house laboratory. Generally, we can have results within minutes for the following tests: complete blood test, blood chemistry, urinalysis, electrolytes, blood clotting, microscopic examination of blood, and pathology.
