I moved to Arlington, Va 4 years ago. I never went to get a hair cut due to the fact that I was never satisfied. It was always one thing or another. I have long hair, that is the one thing that I dread about hair stylists... they Love to cut off long hair. The first time i met Joseph i immediately felt comfortable. he asked me what I was looking for. I told him anything not too short. he was great! he also included some highlights that I would have never considered. His suggestions on hair cut and color to compliment your features is incredible. he has a create eye for style. Not to mention that he LOVES what he does. he will take his time with you every time!! I wont go any place else. I finally found a stylist that knows what he is doing!!! Thank you Joseph.

i've never been inspired to write a review before, but the world must know about Joe Awad. He squeezed me in for an appointment at embarassingly short notice for my first gallery opening, listened to my unreasonable requests (I actually showed him a picture of a supermodel and asked him to make me look like her), and half an hour later I was transformed. Joe understands hair the way Einstien understood physics. As he worked he explained to me the "internal structure of the layering" -- this guy is beyond expert, he's an artist. i went here on a recommendation of a friend and loved my experience. i have been all over looking for someone who could get my hair-color right and i was overly impressed. i not only was happy with my color but my haircut was also amazing.Joseph is fantastic.he is totally the kind of hairstylist who makes you feel good about you hair,your life and who you are as a person. i brought in some pictures to give him an idea of what i wanted and he looked at them and talked to me about what was good,what wasn't, and what would work well on me.it's great when stylists take time like that....it results in great hair and extreme customer service. :0)

Thanxs to Joe my hair looks fabulous! He's a terrific hairstylist! I would recommend having your hair cut by him!
my hair is fine and he manage to put volume into it. i really love it

I am totally jazzed about my new haircut from Joe. I went in on Friday and had a lovely, lovely time with him, but wanted to wait a few days to see if I could actually style it myself (I always love a cut once I walk out the salon, but have been baffled a few times before, upon returning home, showering and realizing there was no way in you-know-where I was going to be able to get my hair to look like the stylist did, let alone decent).

Anyway, my new haircut passed the self-styling test! I love it, and I can even make it look somewhat like the way Joe did. This is solely due to the careful and detailed instructions he gave me, and product he sent me home with.

Joe embodies everything I look for in a stylist - he's cute, funky and easy to talk to, he gave me a kick-ass cut all the while paying attention to my requests, he taught me how to style my hair on my own, and even gave me some overall pointers that I probably should have learned in middle school. AND he's affordable! Rock star, all around

**THE BEST** I WAS NOT A BIG FAN OF HAIR COLORING SINCE IT NEVER COMES OUT GOOD. BUT I HAVE TO HAND IT TO JOE, HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. I WAS REFEREED TO JOE BY A FRIEND AND I HAVE TO SAY THANKS TO HER AND TO HIM FOR MAKING MY HAIR BEAUTIFUL. ITS BEEN 2 YEARS AND I STILL SEE JOE. HE ALWAYS TELLS ME WHATS NEW AND WHAT HAIR COLOR IS BEST FOR MY FACE. SO MY SECRET IS OUT, ITS MY HAIRDRESSER. MY FRIENDS AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JOE.

After moving from the city 2 years ago, I was devastated to have to succomb to orange hair highlights. A friend from mclean, va recommended me to go and see joseph ! Never an orange highlight job again! Not only does joseph do a fabulous job but he is so sweet! I can go a long time in between appointments (only if I have to- I am addicted to lots of great blonde highlights) because his experience and technique of highlighting does not leave any kind of stripe with outgrowth. he can go from the super natural looking color to really funky and make the color look as though it grew out of your scalp that way. i showed him a picture and told him what i do and don't like - Joseph will make you look fabulous! Joseph is so good at listening and when I am in his chair, I KNOW that my color will be the best ever. he is fast too! It is always worth the 1 1/2 hour drive!!!! Many of my friends go to him too! You'll love his work!!!!!!!!

I got my hair cut and colore fixed by Joe. I loved it!!! no one was able to get rid off the red out of my hair.i'm not sure how he did it by i really love it , great job

I have always allowed my stylist to guide me with the direction of the cut & color of my hair. I usually provide a little direction, but mainly rely on their professional opinion- this has burned me more than once! HOWEVER, in the hands of JOE I felt so relaxed and comfortable. he listened to what I didn't like about the current look and what I hoped for- he asked questions and in the end helped me determine what I wanted! The result was awesome! I was so happy with the color- which gave my dark hair a great lift, still looked natural and was easy to maintain. I can't say nicer things about the cut- JOE mastered the style I had been after! The salon was cozy, tastefully decorated and everyone was friendly! I highly recommend HIM.

I recently had an awful color experience with my usual stylist. I believe she must've been having a bad day. Anyway, I heard of Joseph through a friend of mine, who couldn't stop talking about how great his work was. When I met Joseph and heard what needed to be done to fix my fried hair, I agreed to it all. What really blew me away was how professional and experienced he is.the guy has an eye for color! Not only was he able to fix my hair, but he gave me the look I've been dying to have for years!!! Anyone who wants great color, and great service should see Joseph!! u have me for life. thanks

I got my hair cut and highlighted by Joe yesterday for the first time. he was so awesome!!! My hair is short and I'm trying to grow it out. I brought in several pictures of cuts and color that I liked and showed them to him. he was very helpful in working with me to decide what I really wanted and would look good on me, especially as I grow my hair out. he really listened to what I wanted, and asked me a lot of questions to make sure I would be happy with what he thought would look good, and he explained to me what he was doing as he cut my hair. I love my cut and color!!! he did a fabulous job and he was so friendly!! I have definitely found a new stylist, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking.

hair cut and highlighted 3 weeks ago and I was very pleased with the results. I'm extremely picky about haircuts and I haven't gotten highlights in years because I didn't think anyone would be able to do anything nice with my hair, because it's so dark. But, Joe suggested a nice golden color and it turned out great! He listens to i want and he made his own suggestions which are very helpful. I would definitely suggest going here, i kind of felt at ease and comfortable with him right away. i recommend him

I would highly recommend Joe. When I first went to him I had never had highlights but wanted something new, and so left it up to him to recommend what would look the best--and it turned out great. The cut itself was amazing. I have wavy, sometimes-curly sometimes-straight hair that stylists can never seem to get right and I've never walked out of a place loving what they've done. But with just a little description of what I wanted he cut it perfectly, just how I wanted--and I got a number of compliments on my haircut that night. Plus he's so friendly..overall a great experience.

... Joseph is a GOD of hair! He is SUCH a sweet person and is truly just absolutely fantastic! He really does take the time to talk to you to find out what kind of cut would be best for you, makes sure you're comfortable with what you agree on for your hair, and then works his magic! Honestly, I have had a LOT of good haircuts with all of the stylist in my hometown (Scottsdale, which is extremely trendy as well), but Joseph was BY FAR the best. My hair looks absolutely fantastic and he just did an incredible job of making it all flow together perfectly, two of my roommates also loves his work. thank you Joseph for making us have great hairChloe j.

Joe has been my hairdresser for about 6 years. he's fantastic. I just let him do whatever he want and I've never been disappointed. he always tries new techniques and keeps my hair looking hip and cool all the time. I constantly have people coming up to me giving me compliments on my hair style and color. I'm always being asked about who does my hair. Joe is the best!

A couple weeks ago i was out at a restaurant in D.C, we were waiting at the bar for our table and the bartender's hair was gorgeous. the kind of hair you see on a California surfer type of girl. i commented how lucky she was to be a natural blonde and she smiled and said that she really wasn't. she told me she had found this guy named Joseph about a year ago on line, and that he had been doing her hair ever since. she got me his business card out of her purse and said that i was not the first to ask about her hair. i called and made an appointment and he was great- he did a partial foil and cut. My hair looks so natural and sunkissed. i am so pleased i just had to write a review . - Maggie

Joe is a hair genius! Usually, I am always unhappy right after a haircut when my hair goes though that weird period of a few days adjusting to the cut but I never have this problem with Joe. I have been immediately happy every time! And he's a lot of fun to talk to! Not only do you leave looking great, but you leave in a great mood, too!

last week was my first visit at the salon, and I must say that I absolutely loved my experience! Joe did a wonderful job on coloring my hair just the way I wanted it. he really took the time to listen to what I wanted. Also, he did excellent at texturing my hair so it is no longer a giant poofball! What a pleasant experience! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that Joe can read minds because he cut my hair the way I imagined it. This was my first time seeing him, and it will definitely not be my last. This was also the first time that I found a stylist based on Internet reviews, so thanks to all of the other reviewers!

Joseph- all I have to say!!! I am so incredibly pleased with my haircut. I have gone to several different hair salons, but with no luck finding an individual who would cut/color the way I want, or even close for that matter. I was so impressed with the way Joseph had cut my sister's hair (the color is beautiful too) that I made the appointment two days later. It has been about two weeks now and everyday I wake up I look forward to the way I will be styling my hair that day. He took his time to help me find the perfect colors (I am extremely picky) and I cannot thank him ENOUGH for his fabulous sense of style, WHAT A TALENT!!! I found my permanent hair dresser, and I am so excited and relieved!Thankyou Joseph, keep up the amazing work!!!!

I'd been wanting a good hairstylist for a long time, and recently discovered JOSEPH AWAD. I've had long, one length curly hair forever, and no stylist has ever really done anything with it. I took the plunge and sat with JOSEPH, who came highly recommended. and I honestly must tell all that after spending an hour with him sculpting, smoothing, and transforming my hair into a beautiful look, I feel I can't afford not to see him again. He is an absolute master at what he does, and his quiet focus on you is absolutely mesmerizing. the day he was cutting my hair channel 9 news had voted him the best stylist/colorist in the metropolitian area. he deserves it ,he is the best. and congratulations and can't wait to see him again. my hair is beautiful

I was in search of a new stylist this past week, so did some research on the internet and settled on this place based upon the reviews and awards that Joe has received. I called for an appointment and i have curly hair. This was the best experience I have every had on the first visit with a new stylist. Joe took the time to listen to what my concerns were and then offered some suggestions and recommendations. I really appreciated someone who was willing to take the time and discuss the pros/cons of my options. he then proceeded to show me a simple way to style my hair that cuts down the time it takes to do my hair. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with my experience and am looking forward to my next visit to add some hi-lites. Thanks for your focus on providing a great experience for the customer!
