I have been a patient of Dr. Deiter's for 8 years and consider myself a high maintenance patient. Due to my past pregnancy issues and abnormal pap tests, I have been a frequent visitor to his office. I have never in that time been rushed while with him, never been treated rudely and never left there with unanswered questions. Sure there has been a time or two when an emergency has popped up and he has unavoidably been late, but that is to be expected in this field! I would much rather have a doctor I know I can depend upon in an emergency and Dr. Deiter is one of those doctors.

I have only seen his PA twice and I agree with the reviews that she is overcautious. I felt she unnecessarily scared me, but I guess I would rather have the tests done and find nothing is wrong versus her not ordering the tests and something being wrong because she would be the first person to blame. With today's sue happy world I guess I would do the same in her shoes. If you don't want to see her though, tell the staff when you make the appointment. I did and was treated as nice as always.

In regards to the review about him being money hungry, I can only say that the poor female who wrote that must have been grief stricken from her miscarriage and misunderstood. My heart goes out to her for her loss, however no one will ever convince me that the office would not have arranged some type of plan with her. Dr. Deiter is one of the most caring doctors I have ever met and to see that slanderous remark about him I felt was unfair.

Overall he is a great doctor, he is kind, caring and compassionate and I trust him with my life. I have recommended him to family and friends as well. He is the best of the best.

I'm sort of in the middle about my office visit. This was my first pregnancy. I thought I'd keep this review objective so here goes...

Positives:
-Friendly staff
-clean office
-Dr. Dieter is nice
-Dr. Dieter is a great surgeon (I had a c-section that he performed)
-Lab tech is very good. Some lab technicians have to dig around when they stick a needle in you. She was nice and gentle.
-He's got Sally! (His P.A.) who is very helpful and likely the one you'll see more often. She's also very cautious, which can be a good thing.

Negatives:
-Occasional long waiting room times
-Doc has a lot of patients.
-Sometimes he doesn't get to spend a lot of time with you on your visit or may not be able to visit with you at all. (I don't think I saw him until I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant.)
-I always felt like he was trying to rush out the minute he came in there to see me.
-I had a hard time because I felt like the communication was lacking. (This was my first pregnancy for goodness sake!)
-He's got Sally! (I put this here too because one might find her cautious nature a bit annoying...which is a negative feeling.) Almost every time I saw her I was sent to the hospital for an ultra sound or a non stress test or a bpp. (It was eventually seen to me as being unnecessary because that is the general idea I got from the hospital staff when tests were complete and everything turned out normal.)

The bottom line...EVERYONE DESERVES HIGH QUALITY HEALTH CARE WHETHER IT BE AN EMERGENCY OR NOT.

Though I liked Dr. Dieter and his staff I would have liked to have more communication in explaining to me about what was going on with my body etc. since this was my first pregnancy. If you're looking for a doctor that will hold your hand through it all, this might not be the doctor for you.

I'm surprised to see the negative reviews about Dr. Deiter. I have been a patient of his for 24 years and he has delivered all eight of my children, the last two of whom I had hypertension and needed close monitoring. He has always taken whatever time I've needed at office visits, which I partially account to why I do have to wait sometimes for a while, but I consider it a a fair tradeoff because I'm assuming he is taking his time with the patients he is seeing prior to me. His nurses have always returned my calls in a timely fashion. If he is off delivering a baby (which I would want to be the priority), the nurse always offers to let me either wait, reschedule, or see the PA if she's available. You have to recognize also that doctors have privileges at certain hospitals and can't just deliver at whatever hospital he wants to or his patients want him to. And as far as him only being interested in money, that is far from the truth, but OB's do have to pay INSANELY high malpractice insurance and being a doctor is not nearly as profitable in today's climate as in the past, so he can't neglect the financial part of his practice. When I've had to pay out, they have let me, though I've been able to make sure I have health insurance no matter what the sacrifice. Lastly, I have also referred three of my friends to him who have had only positive experiences with him as well. Maybe it's just a matter of finding the right doctor for you, as each patient is unique.

mm, Iv seen all the comments on here and do some of you ever wonder why he is so buisy?? I'll tell you. Because he is a Great doctor and women want him as thier OBGYN. I will make a long story short, first of all to the person who said he is money hungry, you have NO idea what your talking about! I have known Dr. Dieter for 11 years. He is so wealthy he could care less about your pittly extra dollars, haha, That was a good one though. I could make every single one of your sad stories look like NOTHING compared to mine! But I wont go into that much detail, I will say that I nearly died along with my unborn son at 7 months pregnant, my brain was bleeding and alot more after being thrown from a vehicle that flipped 8 times!! I would never put my life in anyone elses hands beside Dr. Dieter and his staff! You all may think that you have to wait too long or this and that but let me just tell you, you have NO idea what other things he is involved in!!!! For all you know he could have a patient in critical care that is not excpected to live or her unborn child. (ME)!! And maybe he is moving a little slower than usual because he has been in the trauma unit all night! You selfish women grr. could you imagine if you were a doctor and you had to know that one of your patients might need her skull drilled into?? And you might need to take the baby out at 7 months, I would'nt recomend any other than DR.DIETER!!!!! To Dr.Dieter, THANK YOU DR.DIETER FOR HELPING TO SAVE MINE AND JASONS LIFE!!!!

I only got to see Dr. Deiter 1 time. He seemed nice. I lost my baby in the 5th week and instead of his PA telling me that, she sent me over to the hospital for an ultrasound. The ultrasound cost me around 1700 dollars! Instead of being compassionate Dr. Deiter called me at home trying to get me in for a DNC telling me I could bleed to death if I chose not to. I don't have insurance so I asked him how much for a DNC? He said his fee was 300 and he had no idea for the anesthesia or hospital stay, but insisted! So I told him I was going to get an abortion for 500 dollars. He was a little pissed he didn't get more money from me! well a couple of months later I get a bill in the mail for 175 after they told me there would be no charge for the visit. I called the office today, and yes I do have to pay it! I would not recommend this JERK to anyone! Talk about money hungry!!! Anyone who is looking for an OBGYN should go see Dr. Jackson.

Every time i had an appointment i had to wait at least an hour or more. He was too busy to hear any of my concerns and was very distracted. I ended up leaving his practice because i wanted to see someone who acctually seemed to care about me and my pregnancy. The receptionist was also rude.

Dr. Deiter and everyone at SWOKC Women's Center is terrific. For as stressed out as they must be from dealing with cranky, demanding pregnant women every day, they are all very friendly and helpful. Anytime I call the nurses line, my call is returned within a very short time. I have never once felt rushed. Dr. Deiter is so great at making you feel comfortable. He answers all questions, and takes the time to listen to every concern I have had. He has never once made me feel like my questions were crazy. Even when I felt crazy asking them. He always makes time for you, and makes you feel more like an old friend than a patient. That is an excellent, and unfortunately, a rare quality in a doctor.

Dr. Deiter was my doctor throughout my whole pregnancy but I only got to see him once (other than when he delivered the baby). He always seemed too busy to see patients, or at least me. When I did see him, he was very quick with me and kind of shrugged off some of my concerns with the pregnancy instead of explaining things to me. I would consider Sally my real doctor because she saw me almost every visit and was wonderful. I definitely wouldn't recommend Dr. Deiter if you are pregnant and wanting regular visits with him. Also, the receptionist was rude to me on several visits...but this didn't bother me all that much since she's not my doctor.

I went to Dr. Deiter through three pregnancies, complicated by endometriosis. He not only helped me get pregnant but he kept each baby inside of me when I had preterm labor. When I went to the ER and saw a doctor there, with the first pre-term labor, she told that it was God's will. Dr. Deiter felt differently. I now have three healthy children because of him.

I was referred to this Dr. by my PCP. I saw him for the first 2 trimesters of my 2nd pregnancy and ended up leaving his practice and finding a new Dr.
I would be told at one appointment that at my next appointment we needed to draw blood for this test or that test, and then at the next appointment I would have to remind them that those tests were supposed to be run, and almost every time the nurse would say "Oh yeah, its right here in the chart.."
I got tired of having to remind them of things they really should have been on top of. Also we had a disagreement about which hospital I should deliver at. The one he wanted me to deliver at was over an hour away from my home and I didn't want to risk that far of a drive. He told me if I didn't want to deliver at his hospital then I needed to find someone else, so I did.

Hopefully he, the other doctors in the practice, and the staff have gotten themselves a little better organzied.
