I have an old BUD satellite tv receiver that has some years of use on it and a switch on the outside of the case broke.\r\n\r\nI took it to Eric's and I got it back in a couple days and it works perfectly.\r\n\r\nI will take electronics that I need repaired to them again in the future.\r\n

I have had Eric's work on a number of electronic devices over the past 10-plus years. I started doing business with them because they still serviced Beta VCR's. I have always had good luck with Eric's and have recommended them to other people. My equipment has been fixed and fixed right the first time, and ready when promised. I have found their charges to be reasonable and fair. The only down side I can think of is the lady who's at the front counter can be cranky, but the technitians are always friendly and helpful.

Pros: Most of the staff is helpful and friendly

Cons: Lady sometimes at the front counter in a bad mood

I had a big screen serviced in the past with fair results. I later took the same unit in for unrelated repair along with a Yamaha DSP. I was told they only would repair the tv if they repaired all the parts that typically fail (parts were fine). I declined stating I only needed the set to last one more year and did not want to invest 3X parts and labor for the stuff that ""might' fail. Paid the estimate charge and saved tons by taking the unit to another authorized dealer. \r\nThe DSP (home theater system) I brought in had a bad input selector (typical of the unit) and was quoted almost double for the same part I ordered from the dealer. Then they flat out lied and said they charged me the service fee because they had the unit disassembled and it was quite complicated to take apart and put back together (I told them exactly what was wrong in the first place). I got the unit home and surprise they were never in the unit at all, unless they perfectly replaced all the screwes with the dust on the top of all the heads...perfectly (I tried and was unsuccessful). The hole dissasembly and reassembly (minus soldering in the new switch) took me a rookie a whole 15 min tops. I just dont like being lied to. Flat out lied..\r\n\r\nI know very little about this stuff, but have the sense to know when I am being hosed. Never again from these yo-yo's.

Pros: They were not too busy..no surprise

Cons: Untruthful, needlessly wanted to replace parts for $$$
