Southern Hills used to be a friendly organization where one could go for help and find a professional staff that truly cared. I don't know what has transpired over the past few years, but the receptionists are (harried?) curt, rude, and totally inept; the psychiatrists on staff change with the weather; and the therapists seem to have agendas of their own. \r\nHaving never attended classes in social work, I can't say with any certainty what they ""do"" teach, but I would bet dollars to doughnuts that they don't encourage manipulative, belligerent behavior geared more toward achieving the therapist's own desired end than that which will help the patient--which is exactly what I, my best friend, and several acquaintances have encountered within the past six months at this sorry excuse for an establishment supposedly geared toward helping others. \r\nUnfortunately Southern Hills is the only institution of its kind in the area, so many people are left with no other option, which may be part of the problem: no competition means they can behave as they wish. For those seeking compassion and *real* help who have the time and money to do so, it is a far better idea to drive to Evansville for psychological services.

Pros: Fees based on a sliding-scale according to income.

Cons: Therapists are manipulative and vindictive; Office staff often misplaces important documents.
