Shades State Park

Shades is ok, but some of the trails are in BAD need of a clean up. Some of the steps are washed away and paths blocked. The stream bed I hiked had debris right in the path that had been there for months if not years. I understand wanting things to be as natural as possible, but either clear the trail or shut it down.
On the plus side, Shades isn't nearly as popular as Turkey Run, which has better views of Sugar Creek, and some more interesting large rock formations. The lower popularity means you get to have a wholesome and peaceful experience on your hike. It's you and the woods (and of course all the animals here too) I've seen more wildlife here at Shades than Turkey run; I imagine this is because of the low amount of visitors. I almost never run into another hiker while here!
