I am currently an inmate at the house of correction huber facility, they just moved us out to franklin now it has cost me my job because i have no transportation out there, i am in for an old child support case which has been paid in fiull already but the courts did not care i have spent over $7,400 in room and board and now i cant go to work someone need to call 911 on them because they are the biggest thieves out there (sheriff clarke) also the guards make you strip down to your underware and force you to wait in the hallway naked in front of the oppossit sex (very degrading and embarrising.

Rate the business...that's exactly what it is too. Don't let anyone fool you, jails are a very profitable venture...it's all about big money!

1) I too have been to the House of Correction, and NOT as an inmate, but I feel like I was treated like one. Such disdain at what a pile-o-crap I must I be! After all, I am visiting a scourge of the Earth inmate...guess they feel I must be one too.
2) That nut whats-his-name doesn't believe inmates deserve real nutrition, sunlight, outdoor exercise or reading materials (he took the library out) either. He devised some kind of rat on your neighbor system...if one is caught messing up you punish all others in the group too. Don't you think that's just inviting trouble?
3) Yes, I agree with another comment made too...arrogant, egomaniac, macheeeezmo types are drawn to that badge like a moth to a flame...Supa-Jerk.
That's too bad, they have tainted the whole profession...maybe they should set up the same deal at the department? Got a troublemaker on the force...punish 'em all. HAHA, hey that's one way to get rid of the nasty bastards real quick.

I am currently on the Huber prgram and have to be there for about a year. All in all I feel lucky because in all actuallity the judge could just send people to prison for crimes they committ. So from that aspect I am more than happy. However I am not happy with the way people are treated and the lack of respect they show towards inmates. Some of the CO's talk to us like human beings while others are quite frankly rude and unprofessional about there job. A lot of them are on a power trip and take advantage of their authority. 2 people have commited suicide since I have been there (which is 2 months) NEGLIGENCE!!!! Flat out negligance. One of them hung them sef in their cell. This is not acceptable and I dont see how they can charge us over $700 a month to be in this sticky web of a system.

The department of corrections has no clue what goes on when an inmate leaves for work. I work with an individual that has been convicted of his 3rd owi, and is serving a 5 month huber sentence, but amazingly, he drives to work everyday. Do they not know the inmates park right across the street in the parking ramp? They all claim to take the bus so they get extra time out during the day. Seems to me they are all about taking the money and thats about it. Unreal!

The Milwaukee County Huber program is designed so you fail. For a county that is over filled, and under staffed they definitely seem to want you stay longer than you are supposed to. I will admit that I committed the crime of DWI 2nd, however no one was injured, no accident was caused in my case. I was sentenced to 90 days of Huber with no chance for house arrest. I live a county away, which is an hour to the facility. I was sentenced on a Thursday and given until Monday to get my affairs in order, to report to Huber. On Thursday I requested a transfer to the county in which I reside, that request was never placed. On Friday I called to verify that request and was told it was being handled. On monday when I turned myself in, I supplied all the requested documents as far as work hours are concerned. No action was taken on Tuesday to follow up on my documents or to verify employment. I did not get to take advantage of this Huber program until Friday, 4 business days later! Only to find out that those same hours need to be reverified for the following week. And at this point still no word on a transfer. For a program designed to help people, this surely fails. P.S. your rating system wouldnt allow to me to select the poorest rating, I am using Google Chrome Browser.

I was in Milwaukee County Huber. They moved their facility to the county jail, so in essence it's just like being jailed in County. You just get to leave for work. Nothing like Huber. The pod's are filthy everything from blood to urine all over the place. The guards treat you like a piece of crap. They don't do there jobs, lazy, lazy ,lazy. They don't answer any questions you may have. They screw up your money (all the time). Inmate requests go unanswered as well. It is absolutely horrid there. Someone needs to assert this problem here in Milwaukee. The way things are run is beyond unacceptable.

I have stayed in the facility as a prisoner and I can tell you that I saw cockroaches and rats almost every day. The prisoners were treated like $!#& most of the time, with bald guards taking bribes for phone time. It was the worst 4 months of my life. It does not let anyone progress while inside because they take ALL of your money. $650+/ month to stay there per person. 90 people a floor and over 3 floors. They steal even more money from people on house arrest, Why cant they spend money on making the facility clean at least.

I have visited the house of corrections several times in a professional status. I was always greeted by the staff in a courteous manner. The facility is aging however is useful for the task that it performs.
