Suncrest Stables

I highly recommend not doing business with Suncrest Stables in Lawton, OK. The owner is trying to make up for years of miss-management and financial problems by suing people, raising the cost of board, and decreasing the quality of horse care. The stable recently switched from horse feed to a low grade cattle feed, and the stalls have little to no bedding. We have found our horse standing in urine several times. Some boarders are paying full board, but buying their own bedding and horse feed. I believe horses have coliced the past few months because of the poor quality of hay that is full of mold, weeds, and dust. One horse was seriously ill because it was not warmed, which cost the owners a large vet bill. Horses were not being blanketed at night in cold weather and the water buckets is the stalls were frozen, while the heated buckets were setting in the isle for weeks. The stable has tons of manure lying around, because they have no manure plan. The stable personnel are young girls working off their board/lessons and an untrained paid adult who knows nothing about horses. The last paid employee over fed the horses for several weeks before it was noticed.
