Jensen's Cafe is best breakfast.

by Kara W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,691

The best breakfast south of the river. There is always a wait on Sunday mornings even early. Most entrees are huge. I can split an omelet and caramel roll with my husband and we are both full.

Best Breakfast

by Elizabeth R.

Jensen's Cafe has delicious breakfast food- their waffles, pancakes, and french toast are the best I have ever had. They also offer very good lunch and dinner options too if you are not in the mood for breakfast food. The service is very good also.

Not your everyday Perkins!

by Mary S.

Jensen's Cafe offers an assorted breakfast, lunch and dinner menu very much unlike what you'll find at Perkins, Denny's or other family-style restaurants. Breakfast cuisines offer mouth-watering omelets filled with creme cheese and salmon, for instance. If you are looking for an appetizer with your breakfast, I highly recommend the apple cinnamon bread (three generous slices served warm). The bread alone with a cup of coffee can suffice for a breakfast! The hosts and servers are extremely friendly, making sure you have speedy refills of coffee or water. Prices are reasonable with an average breakfast at $8 to $9. They have a bright and pleasing ambiance in the daytime, turning the lights down in the evening. I would definitely recommend them for all to try. Jensen's is very close to the new Burnsville Performing Arts center, so I would recommend calling ahead of time on weekends if you want to have breakfast/brunch their. If they have a 50 minute wait when you call and you arrive 30 minutes later, your wait time will be reduced by 30 minutes from the 50 minutes they had. Also, they have a back room that will accommodate 18 people but if you wish to reserve it you need to plan on calling at least two weeks in advance.

I was impressed!

by Rachel R.

I was looking for a local eatery to visit instead of your standard national chain store, so I could support my local economy.
I went to Jensen's cafe hoping to find a new place to visit with friends and family. I will return.

I went for breakfast. There was a small wait (the place is 'hoppin' on weekend mornings!) but it was tolerable. The food was well worth the wait. I had a 'kitchen sink' omlette. It was FANTASTIC. It was baked (unusual for omlettes!) - so it was fluffy and filling. Food came quickly, and the serivce was good.

I would return, in fact, I look forward to trying out their lunch and dinner menu.
