Landmark Grill & Lounge, part of Boka Restaurant Group, has established itself as one of Chicago's great restaurants. The dazzling 10,000 square foot space is centered around the food of Corporate Chef Giuseppe Tentori, who was named one of Food and Wine's Best New Chef's 2008. Conceptually, the menu is built around the hard wood grill and brick oven, and uses the finest ingredients from local farmers. Landmark was built to be a dynamic party space with 3 kitchens and three bars. It can host 15-500 people and has several rooms, each uniquely designed by world famous designer Warren Ashworth. Enjoy the voyeuristic catwalk stretching over the bar area. Landmark received three stars from Mobil Travel Guide and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and ABC News.

I find Landmark to be a bit overpriced but you are paying for the atmosphere and ambiance. Very trendy and usually crowded on weekends. The food is decent and the table service is good.

Don't go unless it's for the pizza or discounted wine Weds
by Thaicharm7
A girl friend and I wanted to grab some dinner and drinks somewhere with a happy hour scene yet that still had quality food. So we both decided to try Landmark. The service was impeccable, but the food (other than the pizza) was very disappointing. We ordered a bottle of cabernet sauvignon, which I thought wasn't that great, it had a lingering bitter aftertaste. We ordered the mushroom pizza with truffle oil. It was a perfect thin crust, crisp, flavorful, with just the right amount of truffle oil. I ordered the Kobe beef sliders with foie gras & shoestring potatoes with moroccan ketchup as my entree and she ordered the braised beef dish with barley. The buns on my sliders were cold, and the meat was barely warm. The meat was skimpy, it was mostly bread, and I could barely see or taste any foie gras. The shoestring fries came alongside little squiggles of ketchup on the plate. The fries were all cold and very unappetizing. My friend's braised beef was tender, but bland. We had to ask for salt and more ketchup. They beef came accompanied with some type of bitter green stuffed phyllo dough rings. Sadly, my friend enjoyed the barley the most. The downstairs bar was empty when we came in at 8pm, but by 10pm, there were people downstairs, and the music was a great mix of hip hop and R&B. The music was great, the service was great, the food sadly, was not up to par. I'd maybe consider going back for pizza and wine, but that's about it.
Pros: impeccable service, pizza, good music in the lounge area
Cons: the rest of the food

Fun
by NatalieL
I went to a friend of a friends birthday party here, it was fun. We payed $20 for open bar for 2 hours. They had a private room with a private bar, so the drinks cam fast. The room that we were in was beautiful. I would recommend it for drinks, I haven't tried the food.

I would go again! Not a bad location and it was easy to get to. The food was pretty good, but I enjoyed the drinks the most!
Pros: good date place
Cons: don't sit near the back

Eh, I hear it is a good drinking place but avoid the food
by joiride75
We were visiting from NYC. My boyfriend took me here to meet his sister and friend. It was reccommnended to us from someone who visited Chicago and thought their porkchops were the bomb. I have to say their food was AVERAGE at best. The service was friendly but those porkschops were not even cooked all the way, and fatty too. The caramelized onion barbecue sauce drowned the porkchops. It seemed as if they marinaded it too long because it tasted like ham. The tomato gazpacho they brought out to cleanse the pallette left a weird aftertaste in our mouths- we agreed that it had a meaty taste to it. I had their boneless chickenwings stuffed with merguez sausage that was okay. The skin of the chicken was a little gross to pick through. As a main course, I ordered the trout which was again, just okay. For the price of the place I expected more than what Chili's offers. I would have preferred Chili's to this place. I will reiterate that the staff was friendly and attentive. But that could be due to the fact that there were only 3-4 tables with patrons.
Pros: staff
Cons: food

Best Dining Indulgence!
by Felice1
Where to start... What an amazing dining experience! From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. The entire staff made us feel as if we had been dining there for years and were their favorite patrons. The food was outstanding and the ambiance was wonderful. We are looking forward to our next dining experience at Landmark Grill & Lounge!

EVERYTHING was fantastic!
by AMSnyder
My girlfriend and I came down from Minneapolis to Chicago for a Valentines Day weekend. I chose Landmark Grill off of reviews from Citysearch and I am so glad we went! We started with the fennel shrimp. It had a great unique/great flavor and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. I ordered the tenderloin with bone marrow hollandaise and my girlfriend ordered a marinated white fish. Both were excellent. Our server suggested the mac and cheese as a side so we took his advice. It was insane! I didn't know mac and cheese could be that good.
The only con to the place was that our table was right next to the kitchen and a server kiosk. It seemed there wasn't much area for servers and they were always milling around. Next time I would suggest a table upstairs by the front windows.
Pros: Everything was great!
Cons: There are a couple bad tables. By the host stand and by the kitchen.

Surprising find
by james1970
Had a chance encounter with Landmark Grill recently. Was out with a bunch of friends and one of the girls picked the spot.
Initially, from the look of the place, I was not confident. It didn't look bad per se, but it definitely wasn't my style. Loud, some glitz, more kind of a lounge feel with the leopard patterns upstairs, chrome kind of look.
But, here is the part I really enjoyed. Food was excellent. I had a wonderful risotto appetizer and a great glazed porkchop for an entree. Really very good stuff.
I am probably not the type that frequents this restaurant. I'm definitely more conservative and older than the crowd I saw there. But, if you are into a louder environment, it's worth the trip.

great place to experience Chicago
by lattery
After spending 4 days in Chicago for a convention, Landmark was our favorite of the dining destinations. It is truly a unique place physically, and the customer service was some of the best I've ever had. Chef obviously loves unusual combinations and is great with flavors. Loved the "60 under 60" wine list.
Pros: food, room, service
Cons: pricey, slow valet

Overrated, service is an oxymoron at this place
by doop
The decor and seating is nice, however looks can be deceiving. We were really disappointed with the service - the waiter was really dismissive for any request or question I had about the menu. I asked to switch out the side that came with my meal (peas and fiddlehead ferns - yuck!) with one of the other sides. Was told that they "just don't do substitutions", but they could remove the peas/ferns from my plate and then charge me for another side- what?? They were out of one of the entrees by 8:30.
The food was okay, nothing special.
The menu online is different than in the restaurant as well.
Wine list is okay, but mainly CA wines.
Pros: Bar
Cons: Service, food

Great Experience
by dalial
I went here for the first time this past Saturday along with my mother and sister. We had excellent service from the staff and the food was outstanding. Worth every penny for the experience. I am definitely coming back with my friends.
Pros: Located in Lincoln Park
Cons: Hard to find parking

Great restaurant, Great Scene, Great Everything
by funnyman32
Rarely do you find a place, as hot as this, that really has a legitimate restaurant. Great food, amazing room, and really nice people that work there. My group dined on several killer small plates including a fanatastic tuna tataki and then shared about 6 entrees. Loved it,. loved it, loved it.
Pros: seating, bar, food
Cons: valet

Don't belive the hype!
by merej821
This place has a great atmosphere and a great crowd, but the food was not that great! I had the lobster sandwich....there was more bread than anything else and no taste! I think this is a good place for drinks and appetizers, but I would recommend other great restaurants in the area for dinner!
Pros: Good atmosphere and service
Cons: Food is not worth the money!

super cool space
by EmilyDwarf
went here with a $25 off coupon- food is WAY too pricey for an average night out (most entrees were around $25) but delicious. the space was beautiful, but a little too "cool" for me. there was a catwalk and the music was a bit too club-like. overall, enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was excellent, but don't think i'll go again because it was just too expensive for me.
Pros: great food, attentive service
Cons: expensive, too flashy

Beautiful location and great food
by samanda3
Even if the food wasn't good, it would be worth a try just to see how beautiful a space this is. However the food is great too. The menu is seasonal so the menu keeps changing with the time of year. I was really impressed with the bar menu as well, anything but boring.

Wonderful Food and Atmosphere
by jlh67
I can't understand why this place isn't insanely crowded on a Friday night!! The food and service is great! We ate here for the first time on Friday night and were more than pleased with everything! For the kind of food, service and prices there should be a line of people waiting for a table. My husband had the double cut pork chop which he loved and I had a great halibut dish which was cooked perfectly. The waitstaff is very professional and the atmosphere is very hip. We will gladly return again!
Pros: Great Menu, Service & Atmosphere
Cons: Smoking allowed in Bar area - YUK

Mediocre service. excellent food
by mfloChicago
The food is excellent. Dare I say some of the best I have had in Chicago. The salads are unique, the pork chop large and delicous, the halibut light and refreshing.
The service mediocre at best. The female bartender who was working the night we were in was BAD. She ignored us for the first 15 minutes. We then ordered a bottle of wine. She attempted to serve it in a DIRTY wine glass and was outwardly annoyed when we asked for a clean glass. We paid our bar tab with cash and she forgot to return the credit card we had put down to open the bar tab. We had to ask several times to have our bottle of wine brought from the bar to our table. Both the hostess and server told us of delicious items on the bar menu, but we were never offered a bar menu. Once at our table, our server was helpful and courteous, but the damage had largely been done.
Pros: Great food
Cons: bartenders with bad attitudes

Great spot to meet friends for drinks and/or dinner. Plenty of romantic nooks for a cozy dinner for two. Exceptional service you rarely see at this price point.
