I used to live down the block from this restaurant, and it took my husband and me quite some time before we tried it (not the most glamourous place you have ever seen). Well, forget the glamour, and go eat here. If you love breakfast foods as we do, you will be very happy with this restaurant. A great overall experience!

Alexander's gets 4 stars from me because it has a classic, non-fake diner look, and seriously tough waitresses who wear unironic yet diner-y uniforms. There seems to be a posse of regulars and lots of joking around--service is great, and your coffee will definitely be refilled. Alexander's is a great place to fill up on breakfast food for cheap. That food, however, is pretty average diner fare--it gets the job done, but it's nothing to write home about. Good when you're hungry and just want some eggs and toast with no frills (ie, if you expect your plate to come out with so much as an orange slice for garnish, you're out of luck, my friend).

To say this joint is non-descript is an understatement. There's nothing here, but folks having a meal. I bet nothing's changed for 30 years. The food, though, is solid -- a breakfast will fill you up for the rest of the day.
